If needed, there are dog runs available for you to leave your dog/s while you are exploring the area.
Once a month, year round, there is a Flea Market/Farmers Market in the middle of Buffalo Gap in an area of huge old Live Oak Trees. You can visit or rent space to sell your wares.

Pitch your tent or park your RV/bus anywhere on the property. Soil does become muddy red clay if it rains hard. Must watch the weather (rain) for this area. Usually a semi-arid climate. Lots of deer everywhere. No hunting. Just outside of Abilene, TX. State park is 5 miles away where you can hike, swim, fish, etc. Lake Abilene is by the state park. Buffalo Gap has a population of less than 500 people. Quaint.
