Picture-Perfect Site
We loved camping at Ocotillo Grande! The site is private, with clear directions and easy access, plus several established fire rings/picnic tables, etc. It is within earshot/line of sight of highway 62 (hence being easy to access) if that’s something that would bother you- however, it’s a pretty quiet road and once at the campsite we hardly noticed the lights or noise. The sunsets and sunrises are surreal, especially looking up at El Capitan. As scary as it was, watching it disappear behind storm clouds was certainly awe-inspiring, even though it ended up cutting our trip a day short. We were mostly just disappointed we wouldn’t get to see another sunrise/set with the ocotillos- seriously, pictures do not do the beauty of the area justice. When we come back for Guadalupe peak, we know where we’ll be camping!

Ocotillo Grande
The place is very close to Guadalupe Mountains National Park. It was not too hard to find either. The location was perfect, close to the road but not too close where it would be too noisy. Great views. Very peaceful and serene.

We had a good stay here, you get a good view and some nice spots to set up tents. I would recommend a car with 4 wheel drive otherwise it might be tricky getting up there. It’s a good spot to stay before hiking some of the tougher trails in Guadalupe.

Beautiful views
This place had the most outstanding views of capitán and Guadalupe peak! The location itself is very close to Guadalupe NP and was super easy to find! I would highly recommend anyone to stay here is visiting the park! Only con was that is was super windy and dirt was flying everywhere lol great adventure but definitely check the weather because it was a bit annoying .
