The terrain is rugged, and the dust and wind blow some nights. Once you're here, there are zero amenities (other than picnic tables). If this sounds fine — you don't mind roughing it — you'll be sleeping under the stars at the foot of West Texas' tallest mountain range. And who else can say they've done that? Ocotillo Grande

Great site. GPS location is spot on, just look for the gate and blue porta-a-potty. I drive an Honda Odyssey and had no problem negotiating the road. It's peaceful and quiet.

Campsite was phenomenal! The view of the mountain in the back was as good as it gets! Definitely would be a spot to camp at when I come back to Guadalupe Mountains National Park!

Great place to camp near lots of good hiking. Site was easy to find, clean, and well maintained. We stayed during high winds so it made cooking and sleeping a little difficult but it died down for the morning. Awsome views right outside the tent.

This spot is amazing - the views of El Capitan is better than any you will get in the park and you are truly immersed in the desert - wander about and check out the plants! Plan an evening to sit and enjoy the sunsets as they are truly spectacular and the night sky is big and bright. There are essentially no amenities so be prepared to be self sufficient. The sites are level-ish and easy enough to get to but I would be cautious with larger RVs with low clearance. We were there during a windy time and it was pretty wild - so be prepared for that as well. Overall, if you are looking for a rugged and beautiful immersive isolated desert experience and have the gear to do it - this is your place.
