Ocotillo Grande = Vista Grande
We stayed in Ocotillo Grande because the host informed us that the road to Gaud Almighty was a little dicey after some recent rains.
We loved it. Could not imagine a better view of Guadalupe Mountains National Park’s main attraction. So beautiful! So rustic! This was really just a picnic table in the middle of a desert.
Only downside is highway noise. It’s far enough to not feel like it’s crowding you, but you can definitely hear it.

Great spot!
A great dispersed camping spot! The picnic tables were nice to have too. So peaceful to be out there on my own and the locked gate makes you feel safe. The road there wasn’t bad, just go slow. My subaru made it fine. You can hear the highway noise a bit but nothing terrible. Wes was easy to communicate with and will drop you directions so it’s easy to find! Sunset and sunrise views of Guadalupe Mountain National Park is beautiful

Absolutely beautiful views and lovely to have a fire pit. I would recommend if your looking for some open scenery, peace, and nature.
Some tips on getting there, we were able to make it to the site in a Chevy equinox but this would likely be the least off-road-y vehicle you would want to use. We stopped at the dried river to move some rocks out the way and made it across but maybe wouldn’t have made it after any rain. We arrived before sunrise and took the right too soon, which got us there eventually but The river crossing on this route is a lot rockier so would recommend following directions :p

Amazing spot! D
Awesome location with amazing views, would definitely recommend! Wes was super responsive to all questions we had! Some of the reviews said that folks were able to access the site in lower clearance vehicles, but I would definitely heed the warning that you’ll want something higher because the road seems much more worn in. We were in a Toyota 4 Runner with 4WD and there were some very soft areas that still were a little touch and go with that.

One of our favorite places we’ve ever camped. Isolated, but easy to find with the directions posted. Great views and less than an hour from two national parks.

This is an awesome property! Wes gave great directions and his map of property lines really helped us figure out where we needed to be. There's a really nice cleared area where we set up hammocks under the flowering ocotillos and could see Capitan to the northeast. Just beautiful! I'd stay here again next time I'm in the area!

This campsite was amazing! Beautiful views and great for primitive camping. Amazing stars and mountains. We arrived super late but our host Wes still answered our call when we needed help and was such an amazing host! Would recommend for anyone.

The view was amazing. It was easy to drive my van up the road and find the spot. Wes was super quick to respond to any questions I had. I would recommend if you are looking for a primitive camping experience with amazing views.

Wow what a perfect spot to be away from everyone, enjoy the beautiful mountains, and howl at the moon! I LOVED everything about this camp site! I can’t wait to come back and bring my friends! The host is very helpful and responds super quick to any messages! Also, he helped direct me to a spot that my VW Jetta was able to make it to on the dirt roads! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MAGICAL PLACE!

LOVED IT HERE
Guaranteed the best view in Guadalupe National Park. Mind the vehicles recommendation, but! we made it in a camry. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises, couldn’t have been any better.
