This is a very good stop if you are driving from central Texas to Santa Fe. Excellent bathrooms and showers, good hook ups, a dog park, and quiet, wide open spaces. Be prepared for wind if you are tent camping. I lucked out and ended up with a very chilly, still night. I camped with my kitty cat and we were very cozy and safe, listening to coyotes howl from far away.

We have did enjoy the site and would gladly be here again. The facility staff were very nice and accommodating when asked. The sites are clean and the facilities are clean too. Admittedly, the other guest are not great cause most don't understand how to empty this black water tanks correctly and the smell lingered for a bit.

We stayed here for a week in our 44ft 5th wheel with our 2 boxers. The site is in a big open area near the owners shop, in a neighborhood. The full h/ups were great. The site is levelish on gravel. Lots of goat heads in the grass but the neighborhood was good for dog walking. The power hook up is on opposite side, so make sure your cord is long enough. The town is very close with essential stores & the next bigger town is 15 away. Communication with host is very good. The only suggestion I have is maybe a picnic table, something that won’t blow away. We would stay here again.

Extensive recreation opportunities await you at this national park built around its titular lake. Sanford Dam creates the 10,000-acre artificial reservoir, where you can enjoy boating year-round.
Rent a craft onsite or bring your own; there are multiple boat launches for public use. Plentiful bass, catfish, crappie, and trout make Lake Meredith a popular fishing spot.
Once you're done on the water, see the region from the ground with a hiking expedition. The Harbor Bay Trail is the best if you're looking for sightseeing.
Steep terrain can make it a bit challenging for beginners, though. If you'd prefer a more relaxed stroll, try the Muillinaw Trail. This one's fairly flat and gives you a good view of the Canadian River.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!! For sure worth the trip. Free camping. Only cost we saw was for the boat ramp. A lot of great camping spot. A lot of great hikes and it has a "beach."
