So, being so close to the city and having this space that is secluded and peaceful, it seemed only fair to share it with someone who is interested in the same thing.
You are welcome to walk the farm and see the animals, please do not feed the animals or enter their stalls or pens without permission and the presence of our staff.
Staff does live on the farm, we do lock gates at night, you can have access to come and go at any time. If you need gates unlocked, we are just a phone call away.

I am proud to be a fourth-generation caretaker of this farm and surrounding acreage. My great-grandfather purchased this land in 1921 and since then, my family has been farming the best way that we knew how. For the last 30 years, that has meant a divergence from traditional farming practices to focus on regenerative farming-- farming that focuses on enriching the health of the soil and the animals instead of depleting it.On our farm, we raise beef, lamb, pigs and chickens and they all live out on pasture. In our farm store we sell meat, eggs, and raw, all-grass dairy products like milk, butter, cheese, kefir, and yogurt. Our customers drive from all parts of central Kansas to shop at Jako Farm because our food is different than food in the grocery store. We call it JakoPure food.Not only do we share our life-giving, gut-restoring food with others, but we want to share the experience of our farm, too. That's why we've started hosting guests on hipcamp so that you can truly experience what's special about our farm. Each location provides a unique perspective on our farm, and you'll engage a different part of our story at each place. But wherever you stake your temporary claim at Jako Farm, we hope you experience the peace and rest that we know and love.Learn more about this land:Jako Farm is a working regenerative farm, and this campsite provides an easy view of all that goes on here. The cows and sheep will graze near by while the chickens scratch in the distance. You'll see the farmers moving the animals to new pasture and the llama playing games with the sheep. If you're up at sunrise, you'll see Ken bringing the cows up to the barn for milking (April through November). Its pretty quiet here, except for the subtle noises of wildlife. (Fair warning: if you're in a tent, you will probably hear the milking machine kick on at 6:30am.) We're also proud to be a smell-free farm because all animals live out on pasture. There are killer sunrises and sunsets here. If you're lucky, you'll also see our resident bald eagle pair soaring through the sky.A bathroom with shower is available for your use in the barn nearby.Please be respectful of farm operations, although we're always open to answering questions if you see us around. Come and spend some time at a direct-to-consumer dairy farm. Our cows are called Dutch Belted. They are often referred to as Oreo cows. Stay on the farm where the milk is produced, processed, and sold. The farm store is a short distance away and sells a large variety of farm foods.
The farm consists of about 200 acres of pasture and creek bottom. The owner, Loyd, has lived on the farm all his life.
We are right beside what used to be a Navy base... yeah in Kansas.:) The runway still gets used for gliders. So you might see a glider being pulled up while you are here.

There is a nice store for items produced at the farm. I bought some cheeses and meat.

If you're up around 4-5 you can watch the cows enter for milking and arond 7 when they go gack out to pasture

Owner was super kind and let the kids participate in feeding the calves and farm chores. Cats and kittens were so fun to be around. A great and memorable tent hipcame site.

We only stayed one night on our trip from Louisiana to Montana, but it was a lovely stay! The hosts were friendly. The place was easy to find, neat and well kept and so peaceful. It was cool to see the cows and guineas on the property also. We LOVED the store! So much so that we went twice in the same afternoon. The beef jerky was the best we’ve ever had! And the coffee!! Wish I had space to buy a case to bring with me. Wonderful place, will definitely stay again in the future if ever back in the area.

I returned to Daniel's land on my way back through Kansas. It is an idyllic camping spot.
All the amenities are there. Clean, convenient bathroom with a shower which is always a fabulous bonus. A wonderful farm store with all the beautiful products that they produce there. I wish I had a chest freezer so I could stock up to bring things home with me.
The best part is waking up with so many birds singing and chirping away next to cows ready to be milked in the barn nearby. It's absolutely paradise.

Kelsey and the gentleman on her property were so kind, helpful, and welcoming! I arrived and followed the clear signs that lead me to the area I’d be staying in. The gentleman greeted me and gave me a detailed run down of the property as well as a recommendation on where to park since it’s been raining here a lot. Kelsey came shortly and greeted me warmly as well! She told me to avoid the back most campsites due to the rain causing muddy conditions. I went looking around and got my rig stuck (which isn’t their fault at all, they warned me about it) and Kelsey came in her truck and pulled me right out no problem! Hopefully I’ll use my listening ears next time! I got set up with a beautiful view on all sides of several trees as well as the gorgeous horses and goats on their property. I comfortable and had the most quiet and relaxing night I’ve had in a while! You can hear the frogs and crickets at night and right now in the summer you can see so many fireflies. I slept straight through the night and had an absolutely wonderful night! I would HIGHLY recommend this Hipcamp if you’re in the area! I know my dog and I absolutely loved it!

Completely full hookups for a single site! The site is secluded but on the outskirts of a working farm with auditory and visual access to a lot (most) of the farm animals. Picnic table and firepit grill provided. For sewer hookup, you need at least 25 feet of hose to reach access. Larger/taller rigs might have tree limb issues. Technically there are 2 premium ways to use the site; both back in. You could pull in with small rigs. Take an outdoor mat: you will need it for the coarse sand used specifically for the well lit site. The fireflies were so numerous and sunset was incredible. I arrived after a day of storming and Cheryl offered me the use of the RV spot close to the barn because the path to the tent area was muddy. I had a great evening. I will absolutely stay with her again when I’m in the Wichita area.
