So, being so close to the city and having this space that is secluded and peaceful, it seemed only fair to share it with someone who is interested in the same thing. You are welcome to walk the farm and see the animals, please do not feed the animals or enter their stalls or pens without permission and the presence of our staff. Staff does live on the farm, we do lock gates at night, you can have access to come and go at any time. If you need gates unlocked, we are just a phone call away. When checking in, please confirm your location! Camping at the horse farm The Circle of Trees Secluded by the city Please note we do have LGD on the farm, and they do visit. They are friendly and used to people. There are farm animals and wild animals on our sites. All Dogs are required to be current on vaccinations and kept on a leash at all times. I am proud to be a fourth-generation caretaker of this farm and surrounding acreage.  My great-grandfather purchased this land in 1921 and since then, my family has been farming the best way that we knew how.  For the last 30 years, that has meant a divergence from traditional farming practices to focus on regenerative farming-- farming that focuses on enriching the health of the soil and the animals instead of depleting it.On our farm, we raise beef, lamb, pigs and chickens and they all live out on pasture.  In our farm store we sell meat, eggs, and raw, all-grass dairy products like milk, butter, cheese, kefir, and yogurt.  Our customers drive from all parts of central Kansas to shop at Jako Farm because our food is different than food in the grocery store.  We call it JakoPure food.Not only do we share our life-giving, gut-restoring food with others, but we want to share the experience of our farm, too.  That's why we've started hosting guests on hipcamp so that you can truly experience what's special about our farm.  Each location provides a unique perspective on our farm, and you'll engage a different part of our story at each place.  But wherever you stake your temporary claim at Jako Farm, we hope you experience the peace and rest that we know and love.Learn more about this land:Jako Farm is a working regenerative farm, and this campsite provides an easy view of all that goes on here. The cows and sheep will graze near by while the chickens scratch in the distance.  You'll see the farmers moving the animals to new pasture and the llama playing games with the sheep.  If you're up at sunrise, you'll see Ken bringing the cows up to the barn for milking (April through November).  Its pretty quiet here, except for the subtle noises of wildlife.  (Fair warning:  if you're in a tent, you will probably hear the milking machine kick on at 6:30am.)  We're also proud to be a smell-free farm because all animals live out on pasture.  There are killer sunrises and sunsets here.  If you're lucky, you'll also see our resident bald eagle pair soaring through the sky.A bathroom with shower is available for your use in the barn nearby.Please be respectful of farm operations, although we're always open to answering questions if you see us around. Farm Tours are not included with a booking.

Take in a view of the bright night sky you just cant get in the city. Only 1 minute off the highway and only a quick walk to the main house in case of an urgent need. Perfect spot to stay a night if you're traveling across the state and don't want to stay at a busy campground. There are other houses nearby, but only home you can really see is ours from the site. Come and spend some time at a direct-to-consumer dairy farm. Our cows are called Dutch Belted. They are often referred to as Oreo cows. Stay on the farm where the milk is produced, processed, and sold. The farm store is a short distance away and sells a large variety of farm foods. The farm consists of about 200 acres of pasture and creek bottom. The owner, Loyd, has lived on the farm all his life. We are right beside what used to be a Navy base... yeah in Kansas.:) The runway still gets used for gliders. So you might see a glider being pulled up while you are here.

Located in the Flint Hills, this park has an immense wildlife area, over 8,000 acres of water, and 98 miles of shoreline (think beaches and coolers filled with cold beer). While you are here, you can take your boat on this expansive lake to explore it all while you fish for your dinner. Back on the land you’ll be beckoned by picturesque hiking trails, biking trails, and horse trails. There is a wide variety of campsites on the shoreline, offering the perfect vista to see the moon and stars reflected back into the lake. Kansas magic at its best!Meet our friendly indoor/outdoor cats, and maybe even spot a deer in the surrounding fields as you relax around the fire pit. Visitors in June can even harvest fresh mulberries from several trees surrounding the camping area. We commonly see deer, squirrels, rabbits, and a large variety of birds. We've occasionally spotted bald eagles in our surrounding trees.No pets allowed.

Goat milk is available seasonably. It is peaceful, calm, and quiet here at Hastago. You don't want to miss the sunrises and sunsets. You might even see some deer and turkeys pass by in the fields.

Weekend Trip to Daniel's 100-yr-old farm

Beautiful property! We enjoyed the quiet nature of the land. Plenty of open skies for stargazing! The host was very friendly and helpful to get us out of the heavy winds! The farm to table store is fantastic and everything we’ve tried so far has been far superior to the grocery store. We will be returning!

Weekend Trip to Birdhouse.Farm

Daniel was very helpful host. I had a problem with my large cooler and he helped me sort it out. The site was very roomy and I was able to pull my camper around and remained attached without having to back up . I arrived the evening before a huge wind storm that was going to encompass all of my route the next day, so Daniel offered for me to stay another day, which I did. I’m glad that he told me about the wind storm because I would not have known about it and it would’ve not been fun driving in it. Due to the circumstances he offered to let me stay a second night gratis, but that was not necessary, I was grateful for the spot.

What a great campsite they have set up for travelers to stop and rest amongst the farm animals. Site was very well set up with fire pit (ask before you light it), picnic table, cute lights and full hookups!

I enjoyed staying on Erma’s land! It was beautiful and peaceful. Her setup was great - string lights, picnic table and electric hook ups. Oh did I mention that she has a miniature horse?!?! I would definitely recommend this place and would sure love to stay again!

Weekend Trip to Boxcar Family Escape

It was so quiet and relaxing on Teresa‘s property. Teresa was incredibly attentive to weather issues that might impact our stay, and she offered options to make us more comfortable. We were able to purchase firewood from her, which was convenient. Our son befriended one of the cats, which made the stay all the more fun.!

Our dog was enthralled with all the animals. Just a little freaked out about the llama. Lol

The view of the stars was amazing. It was fun having all the farm animals around. It was quiet all night, and we knew with a flock of guinea hens roosting behind us, that no one was going to sneak up on us while we were sleeping. Lol. Erma was in touch by message if we needed anything.

Cheryl gave us the option to switch to site 2 because our hook-ups are on the Driver's side. We had trouble getting level in site 1 due to the recent rains that made the ground very soft, so in the end we stayed in Site 2. Site 1 has a beautiful pasture view and nearby playground, and Site 2 has a fun view of the beautiful horses. You can't go wrong with either site. There are also dogs, roosters, turkeys, and goats nearby. The cacophony of farm sounds didn't bother us, but warrant mentioning in case potential guests reading this review are sensitive to noise. There is also an Air Force base nearby, but I barely noticed it. The resident dogs are free-roaming, but they are friendly. My dog isn't generally a fan of other dogs, and the resident doggies were not a problem for us. Site 2 has full hook-ups, and we didn't need any leveling blocks at all. We enjoyed our stay very much and appreciated the flexibility to switch sites at the last minute. Even with the significant rain, the ground drained well around the site and the driveways. We had no trouble walking our dog or pulling the trailer in and out. We love the Hipcamp experience a thousand times more than RV parks. We are so grateful that owners like Cheryl host RVers.

It was great and relaxing staying at the Borntrager Dairy. Great site Great Sunrise every morning. Cows before milking alot quieter than I remember on the farm. Guineas around keeping bugs down. If your looking for a peaceful private stay this is it. We will definitely be back

8 nights at The Farm at Yoder

We stayed at the farm for 8 nights and it was Amazing. Erma has thought of everything from the beautiful setting of the campsite to the hookups! No stinky water here. Erma is so very nice and we felt like we were at home. Hanging out with all the animals was such a treat! We were in town visiting family and my niece’s loved hanging out at the farm feeding all the animals and cooking on the campfire. I fell in love with Kona Ermas dog and was soon out buying her some cookies and toys. We will definitely be back again and this will be my first choice! Thank you Erma for making our vacation so wonderful!

Great experience staying on a working farm. Their food store changed the way i will eat from now on. All grass fed animals and the best cheeses. My only regret is that i didn’t buy more cheese curd. Their store is open 24/7 and is on the honor system for payment. Farmers are the best.

We absolutely loved this spot! Full hookups, tons of privacy, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and great access for our big rig (45' toy hauler). We enjoyed watching the cows come in and out of the field for milking each day, as well as the funny guinea hens pecking about. The farm store is AMAZING - delicious milk, butter, yogurt, ice cream, eggs, breads, canned goods...I could go on. DEFINITELY make sure you stop into the store! We spent a week here at the farm and each night we walked down Halstead Rd for a bit to stretch our legs and most evenings we saw an Amish horse and buggy go by which was a fun treat. We enjoyed exploring Yoder and Hutchinson - what a great area overall. We've stayed at several HipCamps in the last year and this one was our favorite so far. We will be back!!!

We brought our 30ft Airstream. Very easy to get to. Erma met us outside at 945pm to help us find the spot. Incredibly accommodating. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would recommend.
