It wasn’t until his teens and young adult years that he would graduate to casual wine-making. But casual wasn’t enough for Monty.
This is no vintner’s hobby house. Bar Z Winery combines art, science, and years of experience to create elegant wines. Monty’s passion and hard work go into every bottle making these entirely Texan wines contenders on the world stage. Bar Z Winery has competed against Napa Valley wines, French wines – often considered the greatest – yet their native Texan creations have taken home the gold.
Much like his wine, Monty Dixon is unfiltered, robust, and wholly unique. If he has a free moment, he’ll happily bend your ear about the science of wine and Bar Z’s simple, yet effective philosophy: Let the wine be wine. Perfect home base for your Palo Duro Canyon State Park vacation or while visiting the nearby cities of Canyon, Amarillo or Hereford, TX that are just minutes away. Private camping toilet is provided inside of a small building and conveniently close to the outdoor water spigot. Free high-speed Wi-Fi in common areas and dog park are also included.
Large (32 ft X 24ft) tent sites with picnic tables, in the designated campsites, provide plenty of room for even the largest tent(s) and camping equipment. Our back-in RV, Campervan/Car parking sites with picnic tables are 40 ft long to allow parking without having to disconnect most tow vehicles. At this time, there are no electricity, water or sewer hookups at the individual campsites.

April has a private area for camping/parking the van. She also provides a fenced yard for dogs and hanging out in the shade. It was a convenient place to stop as we were traveling on I-40.

We had the most wonderful time at this hipcamp! My husband and I stopped by here on our cross-country roadtrip/honeymoon. The horses and us had a great night of rest and we got to ride them in the morning! 10/10 experience!

We have been here before on a pass through Texas and were happy to camp again with the horses and windmills. As always, Tyler was responsive and it was very easy to get there and get out to continue our journey. Great overnight stay.

We stayed here for a week in our 44ft 5th wheel with our 2 boxers. The site is in a big open area near the owners shop, in a neighborhood. The full h/ups were great. The site is levelish on gravel. Lots of goat heads in the grass but the neighborhood was good for dog walking. The power hook up is on opposite side, so make sure your cord is long enough. The town is very close with essential stores & the next bigger town is 15 away. Communication with host is very good. The only suggestion I have is maybe a picnic table, something that won’t blow away. We would stay here again.

Wow, what a treat to stay here. The view is spectacular from the place we set our camper up and from the tasting room . Monty and Amber were super fun and interesting, and most importantly, the wine was delicious!

Quiet smaller park which I loved. Very nice, clean bathhouse. Car camping but the had nice spots for bigger rigs. The Star were showing off and the sunrise was spectacular! Would definitely recommend!
