I’ve been there twice and every time it’s been windy. It’s just an open field or horses and a small pony graze. It’s just a quick stop between Houston and Colorado, if that’s what you want it’s not bad.

Wind Turbines!

Tent camping under the stars on Tyler's land was fantastic! Plenty of open space and we got the opportunity to sleep near a wind turbine. While it may be loud for others (there are certainly other places on the property if the noise isn't for you), we loved falling asleep under the stars and waking up to a beautiful, really cool wind turbine.

Could Have Easily Stayed Longer

Wow! If you like feeling like you are in the middle of nowhere, but only minutes away in reality, then this is your place. The calming of the windmills (turbines?) is so calming. Had a storm roll in while we were there and it was exhilarating! Saw my first antelope and jackrabbit! Highly communicative host! 12/10 recommend. And yes, it’s windy. Just get a feel of the wind and park accordingly.

Great place with only one house we could see waaay in the distance. We were the only ones there, which was very cool. We had no problem getting there and finding a nice level spot. My dog loved being able to run and sniff around. The only issue is it was very windy when we arrived, which is not surprising, being as it is on a wind farm. But, the morning was just a normal breeze. We had a great time.

An amazing spot and great host! I arrived after dark and the directions to the site provided by Tyler were easy to follow. Very peaceful and private spot and I felt extremely safe here as a solo female traveler. The horses wandered over to my van shortly after I arrived and were there in the morning too before I left. It was an incredible experience!

Site was as described. Nice private site with gravel. There had been lots of rain and snow before we arrived but still enjoyed the peaceful site, especially with the beautiful horses and sunset.

Comfortable stay for Solo Female

I took a break from Hipcamp due to a bad experience. Coyote Breaks has been on my list for travel between TX and CO. So glad I took the chance!! Tyler was so pleasant to deal with even though I arrived later than intended
(My poor planning with time zone change.) His communication was timely and directions were clear. It was dark upon my arrival and he assured me that I was in the correct location. I had such a peaceful nights rest and when I woke… wide open space!! Unfortunately I missed the welcoming committee (4-legged furry friend!!) But that’s because of my late arrival. I will be back on next travels.

Oh my gosh this place was private and so cool. Tyler accepted my request late at night, last minute, which was greatly appreciated. I arrived with no problem because of his easy instructions. The sunrise was beautiful. Thanks!

We had a great time camping here in our 20ft trailer. Tyler was very accommodating and we really appreciated all the help he offered. If we’re ever coming back through, we will absolutely stay here again. The views were amazing and the horses were an added bonus!

Perfect spot for a quick camp on our way up to CO from Austin! Tyler was very quick to respond, was able to accommodate our late arrival and also provided some helpful info about the surrounding area. Beautiful spot for star gazing, loved waking up to fresh air and an incredible view of the wind farm. Open-field setup, if tent camping, prepare for wind!

I enjoyed my short stay, the horses roaming around was cool. The sounds of the wind generators was soothing and helped me fall asleep quickly. And of course the friendly dogs showed me the way to camp.

Big Amarillo skies!!

A perfect place to stay, especially for those needing a place to sleep after a long day driving I-40. We came in late and had no issues with the directions provided and the dog, Ted provided a warm welcome! For those in a tent and unfamiliar with Amarillo, please note that winds can get wild suddenly. The land is shared with horses and cows so you’ll have some natural fertilizer throughout.

Beautiful ranch with wildlife!

This is a lovely ranch to camp on! The horses and cows were very friendly, and the sunrise was gorgeous. I felt very secluded and safe. Tyler was very communicative and helpful when I had trouble figuring out where to go, his directions got me there in no time! Ted the black dog also was very friendly and led me to my site!
