Our bathroom facility is located right nearby and now features permanent indoor lighting. Well water is available from the sink located near the bathroom.
Please remember, for the safety and comfort of our animals and guests, unsupervised interactions with our animals are not permitted. All animal interactions must be scheduled and supervised by our experienced staff. Also please remember that while our farm is a total of 30 acres, only about 1/3 of that is available for open use by campers, the rest house our beautiful horses and other animals.
Our farm is situated just a short drive from local attractions. We are 10 miles from the Historic Georgetown Square, 11.2 miles from the serene Blue Hole, and 38 miles from the hustle and bustle of downtown Austin. We have so many trees! All of our sites are hammock-friendly.
- When you check-in, just text us, your host will help you find your campsite.
- Some sites are drive-in where your vehicle can park right next to the fire. Others are walk-in and require a short hike of 100' or less from your parking space. You can indicate your preference during booking or at check-in.
If you want to drive right into your site,
Campsites 2, 3, 6, and 12 are the sites you want.
Some of our campsites are more secluded than others and offer extreme privacy in the most beautiful settings we have to offer. If you're looking for a wilder campsite surrounded by huge old trees and all the peace the woods have to offer, just request Campsites 4, 5, 7, or 8. Each of these sites requires a walk of at least 50' from your vehicle to the fire ring.
Site 13 is only for backpackers or people willing to hike about 500 yards to the campsite over rough terrain. There is no way to drive to it or even get close except on foot. But it is spectacular and beautiful!
Only three sites can accommodate a smaller trailer or camper. Site 1, Site 2, and site 6. Please notify me in your booking if you intend to bring a camper and I can accommodate you.
We practice leave-no-trace as much as possible. So please pack out anything you pack in. You are responsible for removing all trash. If any garbage is left behind in your site you will be billed for the cleanup. We have a dumpster located near the front gate. Please use it and put all your trash in there.
Heads-up! We have a small farm on the property.
Dogs are always welcome and we LOVE our furry friends! For their safety and the safety of our livestock please keep them leashed while on property.

Pastures are mowed three times a year and always look beautiful. There is some
terrain that is rough and the land has not been traveled. Bring machetes and a compass (We are not a rescue team). The land is ready to be loved by our visitors.

1100 acres of gorgeous natural land at the headwaters of the Medina River. Crystal clear and clean spring feed water. Fourth-generation family owners. Remote camping. Very private with plenty of varied terrain for hiking swimming, tubing, biking or just hanging out in a hammock enjoying the breeze and peace and quiet.
About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out.
NO FISHING
As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around.
We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails.
There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful.
We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch.
Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are--

2. Another my brother likes that has a cypress tree submerged you can sit on he calls the 1000 waterfalls
3. big pond

. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers.
The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so.
Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds.
Campfires are permitted.
There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one.
Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently

-From Alpine: take HWY 118 South out of Alpine approximately 62 miles until you come to the only left turn lane. Turn
left on Terlingua Ranch Road. You will see the large white Terlingua Ranch Lodge sign.
-From Study Butte: take Hwy 118 North 16 miles from the ALON gas station, turn right at the Terlingua Ranch Lodge
sign.
2. Follow Terlingua Ranch Road approximately 16 miles. The first 13 miles are asphalt. There is not a center stripe,
please stay on your side of the road. THE LAST THREE MILES ARE ON A MAINTAINED DIRT AND GRAVEL ROAD. It can be
wash-boarded in areas. Please drive slowly and observe speed limits to help protect our roads
We are proud to be a part of The Greater Big Bend International Dark Sky Reserve. All guests are requested to keep
their site as dark as possible between 10pm and 6am.
Fire Ban: Due to extreme drought, only gas grills and propane burners are allowed. NO charcoal or wood fires.

While we are adjacent to Big Bend National Park, it is approximately 36 miles to the Maverick Junction entrance of Big Bend National Park and an additional 22 miles to Panther Junction Headquarters and Visitors Center.
We are about 32 miles to Study Butte and about 37 miles to Terlingua Ghost Town area.
Terlingua Ranch is 192,000 acres of desert and mountains between Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park in far SW Texas. The sites overlook the beautiful Canadian River breaks to the north with wide open skies to the west and east to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. These are rustic sites with no improvements. We are just getting started with this so you’ll be able to help us from the ground up. If we are not in a burn ban you’re welcome to have a campfire. There will be opportunities to call up a wild coyote or watch some mule deer or an occasional antelope stroll by. You could even be awakened by the horses on their way to water in the morning and we can set up some horse riding if we have enough notice to schedule time off from the 9-5 haha. Located just 10 miles North of Downtown Montgomery on FM149 (23510 Martha Williams Road). We have 5.5 Acres that backs up to the Lone Star Hiking Trail in the Sam Houston National Forest. Our Campsites are set up along the LSHT between Trailhead 3 and 4, in the Pole Creek trail area. We have 7 campsites and 1 cabin that sleeps 4. The campsites all have fire pits. There is a pavilion with a summer kitchen and BBQ pits for cooking meals. Shower (with hot water) and restroom are available for campers.
The Cabin (sleeps 4-5 Full size bed, pull out sofa, Loft for 2. Fully furnished with bedding, towels, dishes, cookware, toiletries.
Parking is available on site and Shuttle Service is available to surrounding trail heads if needed.

Our customers are usually groups of friends and family; many of them have camped here for years. A few even claim to have grown up on the river and, to some extent, that might be true. Bee Mountain Resort is a secluded off-the-grid campground that's been around since the '70s. And it's pretty well known to the locals.
I first discovered the Brazos River back in 1985 looking for smooth water to ski on. And having developed so many great memories camping over the years, I can confidently say our resort is classic and old school. Change comes pretty slow on the Brazos.....and we happen to like it that way! Family, friends, kids and pets all love our amazing getaway; it's a rare gem best shared with good people.
Every campsite is located directly on the river and all of them are huge. Firewood, ice, kayaks, paddleboards and generators are available at low prices. Great tasting water from our 500' deep well, clean restrooms and a camper dump station are located on premises. We are very pet friendly providing your pet is friendly.

I loved my stay! I was able to take both of my dogs and they loved being able to explore, it’s a very short walk to the water and a good amount of space and privacy, the site next door was empty for the weekend so it felt like we had the area all to ourselves! There is a sink (with potable water) and a porta potty very close as well if you don’t want to go all the way up the hill to the full bathrooms. Lyn and Carol-Anne were very communicative and helpful! We will most certainly be coming back!

Absolutely Amazing! My husband and I stayed at Boulderdash RV and Camp for three nights at the end of May. We stayed in the Stella RV . Stella was so comfortable. The linens were soft and clean, Stella has everything you need from cooking a hot meal to taking a hot shower. The AC was on point and well needed after hot days by the beautiful clean and clear Medina river. Our hosts were very hospitable and kind. It was hard to leaving back to the real world. Such a beautiful and well maintained property. We can't wait to go back, hopefully for a much longer stay next time. Thank you again to our hosts Carol Anne and Lynn!

We had such a wonderful stay at Llamaland Camping—truly a unique and memorable experience! From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, welcoming, and thoughtfully set up.
The campsite itself is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained, with just the right balance between comfort and nature. Waking up to the fresh air and scenic surroundings was incredibly relaxing. The highlight, of course, was the llamas—they were adorable, friendly, and added such a special touch to the entire stay.
Judy was a fantastic host—kind, responsive, and clearly passionate about what she’s created. She made sure we had everything we needed and offered helpful tips to make the most of our visit.
If you’re looking for something different from a typical camping trip, this is the perfect spot. It’s peaceful, fun, and great for both relaxing and making lasting memories. We would absolutely come back and highly recommend it to anyone!

My daughters and I had a very relaxing weekend getaway at Boulderdash thanks to our thoughtful and considerate hosts! When we arrived, we were offered a different spot from the one we booked so we could have a little extra space to ourselves, and they even had farm fresh eggs and homemade sourdough available that we snatched up for the next day's breakfast. Proximity to the river was amazing and we spent a few hours on the water together, and the bathroom and shower facilities were very clean. The grounds were also in great condition, full of greenery and wild deer we could feed with some complimentary corn (both my girls were thrilled). The cherry on top was the fact that all you could hear at night was crickets, and you could see all the stars despite some clouds in the sky. It was a great experience and we look forward to staying again!

This was my 3rd time staying here. It was fantastic, as usual. Nice campsites, hot showers, flush toilets, and amazing views. It’s a great base for exploring the state and national parks. I’ll definitely be back.
Every knob/lock on the bath house doors is broken though, and needs to be replaced.

Billy is an awesome host and very attentive to your needs and directions getting there. He was very helpful in guiding us around town to places we had needs for. Positive experience. The only CON is that even though each site was without power and water there were no such facilities anywhere on the campgrounds so you would need to bring your own toilet and shower equipment

An absolute hidden gem. Everything needed for a getaway camping trip is here. Pick from a beautiful open pasture camp or head down near the river under the biggest pecan tree I’ve ever seen. There are facilities and a nice large pavilion if you want to take advantage of that too. Gotta give this one a go!

Great place, complimentary firewood was awesome and the winery on the property had great tastings, walked away with 3 bottles.
Would recommend site 7, plenty of privacy and a nice large tree to set up around in the center. Our dog had a great time patrolling the site on her leash runner.

Our four-night stay at Site 19 was honestly one of the most peaceful and refreshing experiences we’ve had in a long time. The scenery was absolutely beautiful — quiet mornings, incredible sunsets, and a level of serenity that’s hard to find anywhere else. The site itself felt private, spacious, and perfectly tucked into nature without feeling isolated.
Every night around the campfire felt relaxing and memorable, and the atmosphere throughout the ranch was calm, welcoming, and incredibly well-kept. Whether we were fishing, hiking, or just sitting outside enjoying the sounds of nature, it felt like the perfect escape from everyday stress.
If you’re looking for a place to truly disconnect, recharge, and enjoy Texas countryside at its best, Site 19 at 5D Ranch is absolutely worth it. We’re already talking about coming back.
