The Blue Bonnett Campsite
Lampasas Eclipse Camping
April 2024. The eclipse came round on all of us very quickly. Fortunately for us campers, Daniel spotted this and opened up a fantastic camp site with the feel of wild camping that many of us look for. The place is peaceful and secluded enough to give that feeling of Freedom. I was relatively self sufficient with my setup, but if you needed anything extra, or help, it was always on hand. The event on the 8th April was obviously the reason we were all there, but it has to be said the campsite ambiance added to it hugely. Thanks y’all Phil

Molly Campsite Area
Campsites were lovely! Daniel was still setting up some of the facilities when we arrived before the eclipse rush, but he was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Can't wait to see how the site develops, and we'll be back again!

Golden Love Campsite
Excited to visit again!
Loved tent camping at Danny's spot! Danny's really put a lot of effort into making really convenient, lovely sites with cookfire spots, picnic benches, and clearings for setting up large or small tents. Sites are interspersed through a very lightly wooded area (40-50 feet between sites), and there's a common bathroom with hot shower available for campers to share. A couple clean water spigots and backup primitive bathroom facilities are also available, along with a few outdoor games (e.g. badminton net). Danny is super friendly and accommodating. Also, not well-publicized, but there's about a hundred acres of light walking trails connected to these sites - perfect for exploring around, and the couple of wineries down the street/town of Lampasas about a ten minute drive away are lovely for a quick return to civilization if desired. Slightly rocky dirt road leading to the campsites, but a small sedan made it just fine. As is expected for Texas Hill country, bugs and snakes are around. Just keep your eyes peeled and bring a citronella candle (or grab one at a local market) and you'll have a wonderful time. Great stargazing.

The Blue Bonnett Campsite
Eclipse Glamping With Dogs!
We were lucky enough to view the 2024 solar eclipse from Daniel’s land and it was excellent! It’s obvious he and his family care about his land and are passionate about sharing it with others. The sites are well kept and the bath house is a very nice touch. Wood was available for a fire and there was some extra land to explore. The only downside was that we had to drive 5-10 minutes down the road to get any service. Great hospitality for us and our pups!

Cedar Sunrise peaceful campsite
Great hosts for a spacious site!
Danny and Kim were wonderful hosts - very accommodating; provided firewood and checked in with us multiple times to make sure we didn't need anything - they even provided the cutest eclipse-themed gift! The site was spacious, with multiple tent spots. Trees provided shade - and a place to rig a tarp so we had a dry place to sit the day it rained. Some traffic noise from the nearby road, but a small price to pay for the privacy of the Cedar Sunrise site.
