Hamm’s Hideout
Beautiful Secluded Property
Hamm's Hideout is exactly what it sounds like. The property is spacious and secluded. You can hear occasional traffic from the nearby road, but generally, you forget that you are near any houses or roads. The property is clean and has a picnic area with a table, gliding rocker chairs, and a fire pit. The fire pit was ready to light up when we arrived and we used it to cook tin foil dinners our first night. There was plenty of additional covered firewood next to the pit with uncovered wood piled nearby. The camping area is generally open, but there are wooded areas that surround the meadow so hiking through the trees is also an enjoyable pastime.
Kelly was very communicative and gave great instructions on how to arrive at the property and access the camping area. We didn't have any issues other than a small struggle with pulling our camper over some humps between the road access and the camping area. This issue is due to the jacks on our camper that reduce the overall clearance. That was easily overcome with a change in the angle of attack. A quick removal of the jacks would have also solved the issue.
Overall, it is clear that Kelly has worked hard to make the campsite inviting and accessible. If you are looking to camp in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, this property is highly recommended.
