A weekend under the stars
What a great spot to spend a birthday. 360 degree views, fantastic sunsets, night sky full of stars on a working farm. Loved the goats, sheep, pigs and alpacas.
Judy and Richie were friendly and drove us to the camp spots up the back of the property. A few rocks and weeds to drive over but nothing our transit van couldn't handle. We even got some eggs and fruit from the farm that we had for breakfast.
Handy spot to get away, good access to Stanthorpe, Texas, and the surrounding areas. So peaceful. Thanks for sharing your slice of serenity.
Loved this little spot on top of the hill. Very private with an amazing view. Perfect getaway under the stars. :) It was easily accessable with our 2WD but if it were raining you would need a FWD Judy was very welcoming and a great host. We most definitely will be back.
Friendly host and peaceful outlook
Due to windy/cold conditions, we switched to the dam/riverside camp which was a nice grassy area with easy access to the water via walking track or ramp.
Judy is clearly proud of her animals and garden and will give tours freely. Eggs were a bonus as was non-potable water.
One day trip to the southern end of Sundown NP and Glenlyon Dam (recommend the meat/salad sandwich from kiosk). Another trip via Stanthorpe to Girraween NP (approx 1 hour 20min) and loop back via Wallangarra/Bruxner highway to the site.
Kids enjoyed skimming rocks on the water and checking out the farm animals. Would recommend this site (few more $) over 'view from the top'.
Amazing views, beautiful spot
We spent 10 days camped in this amazing spot and just didn't want to go home. Judy was extremely helpful even before we had booked and she and her husband are very friendly and approachable. The farm and camping spot is beautiful and was absolutely perfect for us as we love to be on our own enjoying the peace and quiet. Thanks Judy for sharing your little peace of paradise with us.
