We stayed over the Labour Day long weekend. As Cairns locals, we know Babinda is often named the wettest town in Australia, and unfortunately we struck very wet conditions during our stay. We could absolutely see the potential of this place, it really does feel like “paradise” but with the rain, the ground was very muddy and difficult underfoot and for vehicles. With a 1yo, 3yo and 5yo, it made things a bit challenging as everyone was constantly wet and covered in mud. That said, the creek was a highlight and a great escape from the mud. In the small pockets of sunshine, we loved floating down on boogie boards and sitting in the shallows with the kids. Despite the weather, we genuinely loved the location and can see how incredible it would be in drier months. We’d definitely come back again around September–December, as it would be absolutely magical then.

Paddock 5 Rambutans

This site is by far one of the most beautiful campsites we have stayed at. Lots of greenery and trees, with a crystal clear creek running through it with easy swimming access. Us and our border collie loved it, we will definitely be back. One word of advice - prepare for rain! We learned that Babinda was the wettest town in Australia. The wet definitely didn’t dull the experience though. Thanks Dee and family for having us.

Gorgeous land! Everything was spaced out very well, was extremely wet and muddy due to the large amount of rain over the weekend but the gentleman (Rob/Rod) was always willing to help! We were in camp 4, extremely close to swimming hole 2, amazing fresh water, was just overall a really nice place. It should definitely be stipulated that the toilets are probably a 5-10 minute walk away, 2 minute drive. But was not the best to do in muddy wet conditions.

Creek is beautiful to swim. Dog friendly. The camp sites are nice but very wet and some really muddy, We had plenty of space near us but the host said No to having friend stay near us even though other sites had plenty of people on them. Only 2 unisex toilets and 2 unisex showers for the entire place and not cleaned very often. No hot water.

Fantastic weekend stay. The host was friendly, welcoming, and really well organised. You can tell they care about making the place comfortable for campers — little things like clean amenities, soft toilet paper, and helping us find the best site made a big difference. The creek was great for a swim, and it was a bonus that the place is dog friendly. The owner even ran the mower over our site before we set up, which was a really thoughtful touch. Overall, a relaxed, well-run Hipcamp with a great host and a beautiful spot to unwind. We’d happily stay again.

We recently stayed at Paradise Camps as it was in a perfect location for exploring the beautiful Josephine Falls and Babinda Boulders. One of the highlights was definitely the stunning private swimming hole on the property, an absolute gem. Dee, was incredibly accommodating and moved us to a drier paddock when the one we booked was too wet. Overall, we’d definitely recommend Paradise Camps to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-located camping spot

We only booked for one night, but wish we could’ve stayed for at least two or three. The River is absolutely beautiful and the host is very accommodating. So if you’re looking for a hip camp close to Cairns, you should definitely stay here.

Great location with a beautiful fresh creek running through it. We ended up in paddock 7 due to the rainy weather but that did not stop us having an amazing time. The owns were fantastic, helping us get out of a boggy situation. Amenities were kept clean and it was nice to have a hot shower on a rainy day. We were lucky that there really weren't to many people there due to the weather, so it was very quiet and relaxing. I imagine in peak, it would get busy though. Having dogs there was no problems, we had 3, and the "site supervisor" often came over for a visit and sat with the pack for some time. We will be back, even if it's just for the day to swim in the creek.

Oh My Days! Best Campground Ever!

Camp ground 10/10 Swimming 10/10 Facilities 10/10 Host 10/10 We are new to camping and this one has been our favourite so far. Not too far of a drive, great facilities onsite. Clean toilets and shower. Swimming was the absolute highlight. The main swimming hole by the fully equiped Camp Kitchen as well as swimming hole 2 were easiest for our kids to enter. Swimming hole 2 has maybe a very short nature walk to a sandy swimming hole perfect for kids (big and small). The main swimming hole area has stairs and is crystal clear! The fish are spectacular (No fishing allowed) We swam every day of our stay and even on our way out. Ms Dee and family, including Athena 🐶 are very friendly. We had a great time and we will be back.

We enjoyed staying here with our caravan. Friendly and helpful host. Easy to find. Good swimming hole. Horses nearby were a nice touch. Power and water. Would stay here again. Ground is quite hard even in the wet. Good all round family spot.

A wet Easter weekend living in mud as no run off areas. Multiple vans being bogged. Limited open spaces in Rambutan camp 5 due to trees being so close to each other. Left a day earlier due to constant rain. Other hipcamp venues advised against coming due to potential poor weather. Surprised we weren't advised this as the ground was saturated already when we arrived

Wonderful large camping areas. Fantastic host, (Dee) extremely informative. Clean & tidy amenities (100%). Beautiful walks around their property, offering many swimming holes. The Pugh Creek runs through the property, with easy access to the creek. There is a great camp hut next to the main swimming hole...lights, fans, kayaks, noodles, basic kitchen....bloody fantastic place. Paradise is a definite go to. We are Cairns locals & can't believe it too us so long to find "Paridise Camp". Going back for sure. Thanks Dee & Mr Dee, Michelle, Tony & Tiff

Definitely recommend. An easy drive from Cairns and close to amenities in Babinda, but you feel totally remote. The undercover communal lounge/ dining is great for wet weather. The description of the sites can make it sound like you'll be sharing with others, but I felt totally remote (in a good way!). The creek is right by the sites and wonderful to hang out in. I didn't hear road noise at all.
