Kenilworth Rural Camping is a quiet, family friendly private camping area in the heart of Kenilworth, in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Adjacent to the Charles Street Mary River parklands, this 5 acre block has beautiful drive through, flat grassy sites. Shady or open spaces with a seasonal water hole on the property, 150mtrs from the Mary River, through the park or a 5 minute walk to town (600mtrs to the pub!). We have 5 camping sites, each suitable to any size caravans, campers, tents etc. Each site has the capacity to fit 3 caravans or equivalent and up to 10 guests. Fire pits at all sites. Please note we do not have amenities or drinking water and that you need to be self-sufficient with your own toilet/shower set up and bring everything you need with you and take out ALL waste. Please do not book if you do not have your own toilet. Please , nothing is to be burnt in the firepits other than firewood. No glass bottles or can's at all. Dogs must be on a leash at ALL times and must be cleaned up after. Family Group bookings welcome! Strictly no party groups. *All guests must be added to the booking request. Children under 12 are free but please ensure you include them in with the booking request. *The Mary River, and the water hole water levels are determined on rain fall.*

Christmas Creek Bush Retreat enjoys absolute creek frontage on the banks of the crystal clear everflowing Christmas Creek. Perfect for kayaking, floating on an inflatable lounge or swimming in the warmer months or to simply watch and listen to the rapids. The property boasts 160 acres with camp sites situated on a large flat well maintained grassy paddock, all sites look out to the creek and mountains beyond. Easy access for 2WD and 4WD vehicles with plenty of room to turn around. Campers MUST be fully self-sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities. Porta-loos are available to hire at additional cost for your stay, please message for pricing. Please place all waste in bin provided. Please ensure all waste is bagged. Dog friendly, however ALL dogs must be on a lead at ALL times and picked up after. Campfires are permitted in designated fire pits ONLY, but may be subject to fire bans. Situated a 1/2 hour drive South of Beaudesert, following the signs to Rathdowney and turning onto Christmas Creek Road that veers to the left. 26kms along the very picturesque Christmas Creek Road and you arrive at a little bit of paradise in the Scenic Rim. So much to see and do in the area, a short drive to the Lost World Tourist Drive and Tommerups Dairy to name a few. Further along Christmas Creek Road takes you past the Christmas Creek Cafe and onto Lamington National Park and bushwalks to the Stinson Memorial Crash Site and Larapinta Falls. We had a very relaxing 3 days on site 3. A big open field surrounded by beautiful trees. It was freshly mown on arrival. A short walk to town but still very quiet. The river another short walk for a swim. It was rocky and not too deep but we still spent plenty of time swimming. Overall excellent value and we will visit again.

We spent 5 wonderful days at Kenilworth Rural Camping and enjoyed the serenity, location and grassy green sites. Staying at both site 3 and 1. Shane was great, friendly and helpful. With only 5 sites, it was nice and quite. Kenilworth and the river is within short walking distance. We will definitely be returning.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kenilworth Rural Camping and meeting Shane. Big, open grassy sites, we camped at site 3 and site 1. Each of the five sites, had a fire pit. Site 3 provided a great amount of shade trees to sit under during the hot days. Site 1 was on the banks of a pretty pond. Both sites were well located to recharge our solar panels. The campground is a short walk to the Mary River and into Kenilworth town. We enjoyed our 4 night stay so much we booked an additional night!

A beautifully maintained property with loads of tropical fruit trees and bird life. The camp sites are well spread out so you can have your own space. The creek is private and great for swimming, with lots of different swimming spots. The waterfall hike is a well maintained easy going track through the untouched tropical rainforest. I look forward to coming back again soon!

Great spot at Site 2 a stones throw from Kennilworh but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. If is hot, a five minute walk down to the Mary river for a dip. Shane was welcoming and helpful. Plenty to do in and around Kenilworth, hiking 4WDing, swimming holes and don't forget 2 try the "coffee donut" in town.
