What a stunning view! Absolutely spectacular spot that’s all to yourself. I stayed one night at “The Train Station” and throughly enjoyed it. You most definitely need a capable 4x4 and some off-road experience getting there. I needed low range to get up the steep rock steps. It would be even more challenging in the wet. Definitely worth it through and a bit of fun getting there. Flat open ground at the top with 180° views. Excellent communication and navigation instructions from the hosts, thank you. Highly recommended. I will be back again for sure.

Had a okay stay, not horrible but not amazing either. Campsite is decently large, but at max capacity it’d be somewhat uncomfortable. Fortunately, there were few there. The site is in relatively poor condition, and campers demonstrate a severe lack of standard camp etiquette. For example, a dozen campfire spots that are half arsed, not offical, and ruin the availability of where you can chuck a swag. Many fire ‘pits’ had plastics, or other rubbish shoved in there during or post burn. The BBQs are all basically unusable. Bathrooms work but are in bad condition, lots of webs, no locks on the doors, but the water was hot and toilets flushed. Sink taps didn’t work well. There was a high about of foot traffic during the day, which was a bit annoying given that we paid for access. Not sure if it’s local mob, which would make sense and be acceptable, but if it’s randoms just pulling in for a day, then that sucks. Those that were there left a lot of rubbish on the banks and in the water. Dogs were offlead multiple times during our stay and we observed three dogs get into a fight as two were offlead. Another day tripper managed to get their POS explorer hung up on rocks, driving down and onto the river bank (that’s allowed?!). They wrecked part of the track trying to recover the vehicle which took two hours. Overall, nice spot with a lot of great potential but poorly managed and maintained. I wouldn’t say the pictures were particularly accurate this time.

We arrived later at night, but David was super accommodating and always happy to help! The place has a really chill vibe, perfect if you want a quick escape from the city. It was ideal for us since we don’t live too far away. Toilets and showers were clean, and even though our site was near the road, it wasn’t busy during our stay, so it didn’t bother us at all. Highly recommend this spot! we’ll definitely be back! 😊

Enjoyed camping at David’s land. Place was serene and quiet, nice views, nice creek, and very lovely hosts. The sites are quite close to each other but we didn’t mind as we were looking for a quick get away. Everyone was very respectful of each other and followed the camp rules. If you need a camp with toilet, pets allowed, powered/unpowered sites, showers w hot water this is a good spot. If you prefer to have a huge space just for yourself and be away from other people then move along this is not for you. We really enjoyed our stay and the hosts are very accomodating, kind, and welcoming. Thanks David and family, see yous next time. 🏕️

We head out to celebrate our anniversary and stayed at the Train Station camp site. The drive up definitely requires a 4WD and the reward at the top is sensational. Incredible views out of the vast landscape. Weather was perfect, beautiful breeze up that high and incredibly private and secluded. Will be back for sure, highly recommend! Thanks M&K 👌🏻 absolute gem and under an hour from Brisbane.

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot! We offer a choice of sites- either Lower Sites close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property or Elevated Sites with views of the valley. LOWER SITES have access to facilities- toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. These are the only sites that caravans can access. ELEVATED SITES have stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites. When submitting a booking request, select either a Lower Site or Elevated Site. Please include your vehicle make and model, camping setup (tent/swag/camper trailer), type of toilet and ensuite tent (if requesting an elevated site) and number of occupants (adults, children, dogs). Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather dependant. We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top. Due to insurance considerations, no 'day visitors' are allowed unless they have an approved Hipcamp booking. We are a Leave No Trace campground - ensure what you bring in, leaves with you. Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed. Please note that there is no potable water on site. You must bring your own DRINKING water. During extreme weather events the property can be affected, so if rain is forecast, please call before heading out. Things to do and see: The Grandchester hotel is a short 10min walk away and offers cold drinks, great meals and friendly country hospitality. Spicers Hidden Vale is approximately 6km away and perfect for bike riders. Rosewood train museum showcases steam locomotives and Grandchester scale model rail rides run once a month. Andrew Drynan Park is situated on Running Creek, 47 km south of Beaudesert and 19 km from Rathdowney on the Lions Road. The drive from Brisbane will take a couple of hours. It has an impressive backdrop formed by Mt Chinghee. Running Creek is a lovely flowing creek which is very inviting in summer and the park offers a great bush camp. Toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and swimming. BYO drinking water. Pets to be restrained. No showers—a dip in the creek will keep you clean but please don’t use soap or detergent. Directions: At Rathdowney, turn left into Running Creek Rd and travel approximately 17km south east. Campers & Day Trippers Rules: The Park is for everyone to enjoy, so please adhere to a few simple guidelines while enjoying this beautiful park. By using this park you agree to the following rules. All vehicles entering the park must observe 10 Km per hour speed limit. Fires must be extinguished prior to departure. Park users must clean up their area when leaving, by taking all rubbish, including food scraps and disposable nappies with them, so the next users can enjoy the Park as well. Do not burn your rubbish. It must be taken with you! The disposal of nappies in the grass around the waterline, and in fire pits, is a serious risk to human health, the health of the creek, surrounding stock and the ecosystem! Please be respectful of other camper’s space & privacy! Do not set up on top of other campers. Generator use is restricted to 4 hours per day between the hours of 2pm to 6pm. Dogs must be on short leads and confined to your campsite at all times. No music or noise after 10pm, noise level must at all times be at an acceptable level so as not to disturb other users. No antisocial behavior. No camping on creek banks. No playing around toilet block area. No livestock to be kept on the park. No cutting down trees. No person to travel in the load area of vehicles. No motorcycles other than on the formed roads or when moving between your campsite and the road. No stock whips, firearms or weapons of any sort, chainsaws, drones or fireworks allowed in the park. No use of detergents, soaps or shampoos in creek. No washing dishes or clothing in creek. No hitting of Golf balls. No cricket with cricket ball (tennis ball ok). No swings to be tied to trees. Anyone who is non-compliant may be directed by park management to leave the park and if so must leave without delay. Non-compliance will be referred to local Police and you may face legal action for trespassing. Park management reserves the right to refuse anyone entry to and use of the park. Buranga Farm is a small organic family-run farm on 60 acres in the Noosa hinterland only ten minutes from Peregian Beach. The property is largely flat with a hill on the Eastern side and a ridgeline at the very back of the property. There are plenty of cleared open areas as well as a mix of lightly treed and native vegetation. Site one and two are located on the hillside looking west to Mount Cooroy and are best suited for couples. Sites three and four share a large open grassed area the flows down to the main lake that offers great swimming. Site five overlooks the lake and opens into a private bush area. All areas of the property are open to campers to walk through and explore. The farm comprises a series of ponds near the road that are in the process of being renovated for Red Claw Crayfish. There are fruit trees and veggie gardens and chooks around the house paddock. The balance of the land is either grazed by our small herd of cattle and our 2 donkeys or set aside for regeneration. Dog friendly. Simple composting/drop toilet available.

Please notify us if you are camping with other campers who have booked a separate site so we can have you camping beside each other During busy times, most weekend bookings are a minimum of 2 nights with 1 night bookings during the week, however occasionally we will have 1 night bookings on weekends. Check with your host to see availability on 1 night bookings. All campsites run parallel too the creek and are situated on the upper bank of Yabba Creek. Some have creek views, the other sites have trees between the creek and their site. All have mountain views. The main access to the creek is half way along the campground between site 8 and 9. Please do not leave your car parked in the walkway as this will block the entrance to campsite 9. Unfortunately, we lost many of our creek access points due to flooding. Our property is situated between Imbil and Lake Borumba on the beautiful Yabba Creek. We have 110 acres, with campsites on 20 acres. We have 1km of creek frontage. The creek offers fishing, swimming and kayaking. If you're lucky you'll spot the platypus in the creek and there's lots of birdlife around so bring your cameras! Kayaks are supplied free for all campers to use. We just ask that you treat them with respect and return them back to their launching place once you have finished with them. It would pay to pack your reef walkers as the river is rocky in spots. There is lots of space for motorhomes and large camping vehicles to maneuver and park. Plenty of flat spots for your tent or vehicle. This campsite has access to flushing toilets (toilets are situated approx. 400m from the camp sites) and water (rainwater), but you will need to bring your own camping shower. Campfires are permitted outside of fire-ban season (please use the existing firepits). The property features a gorgeous rainforest with a walking track that you can follow safely, and you can also access the state forest next door if you're up for a bigger adventure. Lake Borumba is just down the road which permits water skiing, boating, fishing and other water recreation. The town ship of Imbil is only 7 minutes away where you can visit the many cafes, bakeries, The Imbil pub, Sunday markets, Produce and hardware store, supermarket, butcher, clothing shops, hairdresser, fishing supplies, Petrol station, post office and more. We are a working cattle and horse property but we do allow pets, however pet owners will need to abide by the rules as set out under the Rules and Safety "Pets" section. Please note that there is a rifle range within hearing distance from Maluka Park and campers may at times on weekends hear gunshots. This generally only goes for a few hours.

Hold it Flats is a 120 acre property that borders the beautiful O'Connell River that has water all year round. Take a walk around the property to check out some of the creatures that have been built out of scrap metal and bush bars that have been built all around the property. There is nice shady trees, green grass and flat camping sites right beside the river with hot showers and flushing toilets. There is plenty of room and some great tracks for the kids and the big kids to ride their push bikes on. The swimming hole is about 2 meters deep and has big shady trees on the edge. There is also enough room for kids to bring their kayaks and have a paddle along the river. We have some hiking tracks up around the hills of our property that have amazing views of the area. All campsites can be provided with their own fire pit. You just pick your spot and we will bring a portable fire pit to you. Fire wood can be purchased at the property. All rubbish must be taken when you, there are no rubbish bins provided.
