Hold it Flats is a 120 acre property that borders the beautiful O'Connell River that has water all year round. Take a walk around the property to check out some of the creatures that have been built out of scrap metal and bush bars that have been built all around the property. There is nice shady trees, green grass and flat camping sites right beside the river with hot showers and flushing toilets. There is plenty of room and some great tracks for the kids and the big kids to ride their push bikes on. The swimming hole is about 2 meters deep and has big shady trees on the edge. There is also enough room for kids to bring their kayaks and have a paddle along the river. We have some hiking tracks up around the hills of our property that have amazing views of the area. All campsites can be provided with their own fire pit. You just pick your spot and we will bring a portable fire pit to you. Fire wood can be purchased at the property. All rubbish must be taken with you, there are no rubbish bins provided.

The area has mowed grass, plenty of trees for shade, ground is nice and flat and is only about 20 meters away from the river.  You can choose your own campsite space and group together. Hot showers, flushing toilets and fire pits are provided. We always keep an area free from campers on the rivers edge (between Riverside sites 2 and 3) so you can take your picnic blanket down and watch the kids swim and enjoy a relaxing drink. Pets on leash are welcomed. Please note that Check-In time is strictly 1.00pm and Check-Out time is strictly 11.00am.

Lovely grassed and flat sites with nice shady trees.  There are 8 flushing toilets and 8 hot showers. Big covered area with BBQ, sink, tables, chairs and a comfy lounge to rest on. It's also a great area for the kids to ride their push bikes around with a few tracks, hills and gullies to test their skills out.  It's only just short walk across the road to the river and we always leave space for people to take their picnic blankets down and sit on the edge of the river. That way you can have a relaxing drink while you watch the kids swim. Generators are allowed but can only be run from 8.00am to 5.00pm. Pets on leash are welcomed. Please note that Check-In time is strictly 1.00pm and Check-Out time is 11.00am.

This area is a kid free zone and separate from the rest of our campgrounds. All guests must be 18 years of age or older. There are nice big shady trees, toilets, showers, camp kitchen and a shallow pool to sit in on hot days. Come and stay to enjoy the peace and quiet around a campfire.

This area can be hired out for private functions such as weddings, birthdays and gatherings. We would like at least 1 month's notice to hire this area out if possible. This area is completely separate from the rest of our camp ground and has nice grass, shady trees, toilets, showers and a camp kitchen. There is also a big wood smoker oven and BBQ that can be used. We have also built a small pool that you can sit and relax in.

Friendly staff. Lovely sites by the creek. And also overlooking it. We stayed 2 separate times over the course of a week. Once creekside and once just behind the creekside sites. You pay more to stay creekside, but the raised sites directly behind them are just as good. We stayed here a 2nd time as we could leave our dog in the spacious kennels whilst we visited the national park. Highly recommend the doggy daycare 👌. Hot showers and flushing toilets. No potable water or electricity.

Hold It Flats is a beautiful place to camp. The location is terrific. The shower/toilet block was clean and tidy. The grounds were well maintained and there was plenty of room to camp without being on top of each other. Katie-ann was very responsive in picking up the phone and very helpful. Overall a great stay.

Such a great experience! Amazing service from booking to arrival, assistance with requests, checking in with us throughout the stay and departure (I’m so sorry I can’t recall names but the Man and woman were just fantastic) We are young family starting out our camping adventures and this was our first taste and we couldn’t have picked a better place! Great for kids between the grassed flats, the lil hills to race trucks down and the creek was drier than usual (as other campers were saying) but made for great shallow rocky spots through to chest high spots for the kids to explore and swim! Toilets and showers were fantastic! We didn’t get up to the other areas to explore but plan to our next stay! Can’t wait to visit again!
