The Platypus Bush Camp is nestled within the enchanting lowland palm-rivine rainforest of Finch Hatton Gorge. The stunning creek that meanders through the property provides fantastic swimming spots. The property boasts modern amenities such as flush toilets, stunning rainforest showers, inviting picnic and dining spots, a fully equipped kitchen, and a charming dining hut, all set amidst the lush natural beauty of the rainforest and crystal clear creeks. Accomodation options include:
 - 10 unpowered sites available which suit a variety of set ups - please refer to each site description for specific site size and RV details. - 6 unpowered tent sites in a common grassed area - no vehicles are permitted on the grassed area. - 2 huts with provided bedding. Pets are welcome - as long as they are well behaved and owners clean up after them. There is a central fire pit for use. The property is located in the scenic Pioneer Valley just outside Mackay, Queensland. It's conveniently located 2 kilometres from the breathtaking Finch Hatton Gorge in the Eungella National Park. Just 1 hour drive from Mackay and 2 hours from Airlie Beach.

Great location, beautiful rainforest setting. Awesome amenities including a nice hot shower 😌 our site was smaller than expected as it rained the whole time we were there and we didnt have room to set up our 270 awning. Still a really great spot. Local pubs near by are great 👍🏻

A really beautiful place
We were so grateful to be able to stay at this camp. It was so clearly made and maintained with a passion for hospitality. The garden showers were a highlight. Even though he had rain almost our entire stay it was still delightful! So close to Finch Hatton Gorge you can walk!

Tent and Swag Sites
Stunning and serene campsite! We had rain during our stay but it added to the mystical atmosphere of Eungella national park! The amenities were great, we absolutely loved the hot outdoor showers! Host was really lovely and accommodating and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this tropical paradise!

What a great find! Loved our stay!!
What a beautiful campsite! The whole place is magical, nestled in the rainforest right next to Finch Hatton Gorge. Site 9 was one of many beautiful sites at this Hipcamp and we would thoroughly recommend any of them.

Reconnect with Nature
What an amazing property! Nestled on the edge of freshwater creeks with the odd platypus or two. This charming camp offers a relaxed atmosphere to disconnect from the busyness of life, to relax unwind and recharge. We upgraded to a tree house and felt at one with nature. Falling asleep to the sweet sounds of the bubbling creek and waking to the sounds of birds in song. Shane was a fantastic host, super friendly, charming and charismatic! Willing to stop and have a yarn to make you feel welcome in his piece of paradise.
