Nestled on 42 acres of untamed bushland in Agnes Water, 1770 Eco Camp and Grass Trees Campground offer two unique camping experiences designed to reconnect you with nature. Please note: The property is split into two distinct areas—1770 Eco Camp and Grass Trees Campground—each with its own facilities and rules. It is a 15-minute walk from one area to another, uphill from 1770 Eco Camp to Grass Trees. Take time to review both and choose the one that best suits your stay. Grass Trees Campground sits high on one of the region’s tallest mountain tops, offering sweeping views over Agnes Water, the 1770 Estuary and sandbar, Bustard Bay, and Eurimbula National Park. Sunrises and sunsets here are nothing short of spectacular. Choose from 20 unpowered sites or glamping tents—ideal for those who want the camping experience without the gear. On-site amenities include a new toilet and shower block, camp kitchen, communal firepit, wood-fired pizza oven, and a magnesium swimming pool. As a wildlife sanctuary, no pets are allowed. 1770 Eco Camp, located at the base of the mountain and just 2 minutes from town, offers a peaceful bushland escape. Camp under the stars or opt for a glamping tent surrounded by tropical gardens and freshwater dams. Facilities include a modern toilet and shower block, communal kitchen with BBQs and firepit, and a rustic chill-out zone with pool table and kids’ games. Enjoy added comforts like free WiFi, espresso machine, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, and more. Best of all—pets are welcome at 1770 Eco Camp! Access to Grass Trees is via Corfield Drive, the first right after the Eco Camp turnoff. Feeling adventurous? There’s also a rugged walking track from Eco Camp to the Grass Trees pool—perfect for a scenic hike. Whether you're after mountain-top serenity or a laid-back bush retreat, 1770 Eco Camp and Grass Trees Campground invite you to slow down, explore, and reconnect with the wild.

Nice site. Lots of trees so powered site was a must. Nice and quiet but phone didn’t work in this area. Our van is larger than they suggest on the website and was difficult to get in and out of the site. Lots of people were worried about how to get out between the trees. Fellow campers were great to assist though. Smaller vans/tents it would be ok. Great location.

Was a lovely spot but not as pictured unfortunately. Amenities were clean at all times including camp kitchens which was great but the sites were extremely tight to get in and out of, many campers around us struggled to arrive/leave. The grounds certainly need work and more care to be taken with dead branches & trees all over and above sites. Luckily none fell. Most concerning part was the correspondence. I asked a simple question and still I have no response

Beautiful Bush Stay at 1770

We stayed overnight at 1770 Eco Camp and were really impressed. The bushland surrounds are gorgeous, with plenty of space between sites and a natural, peaceful atmosphere. Facilities were clean and well maintained, and the camp layout makes everything easy without taking away from the “off‑grid” feel. Our site was level, shady, and perfect for setting up. The fire pit, picnic areas, and walking tracks make it a great spot for families or anyone wanting a simple, nature‑focused stay. It’s a beautiful bush camp — quiet, welcoming, and well run. Highly recommend for anyone passing through 1770 or looking for a relaxed weekend away.

Really lovely grounds, spacious and not all side by side and cramped like mainstream parks. Lovely fire pits and good facilities inc. electric BBQs, and pool/table tennis. It's also great we could use the pool and deck at Grass Trees - what a view! Having our dog was wonderful also. Toilets and showers weren't great but adequate.

The photos show a very nice swimming pool , however if you camp on the premium sites you have to either drive 500m to it or walk 500m on a very steep rough stoney path . This is false advertising . You should clearly warn people that this caravan park Is actually two distinct locations . Also no water is available to fill or connect to which is not made clear on your advertising.

We had a really lovely stay. The camp facilities were fantastic, everything was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the location is absolutely beautiful with great views. The only downside for us was Site 10. We have a 20 ft caravan and found it quite difficult to get in and out of the site due to the tight access. I’d probably recommend this site for smaller vans, or suggest that larger caravans request a different site when booking. Other than that, we had no issues and would happily stay again.

Site 2 is elevated and motorhomes can slip on the gravel incline - both ours and another guest. No mention of this in the listing or booking process nor in the reviews. The site also has a good view of the bins and road noise i heard throughout the day. Overall pleasant stay but a little pricy for what it is.

As a bush camp this place has a lot going for it. There are some things to be aware of; not all campsites are equal and anything on a hill is difficult to unsuitable if you are towing your mobile home. While campsites all have a minimum size, access varies greatly - from drive through to impossible. Information on which campsites are suitable for which type of accommodation and whether it is flat or not (hillside sites are on narrow unstable, rocky tracks with limited manoeuvrability) would be helpful.

The views were beautiful from the top of the hill. campsite themselves were a little bit hard to understand. Eg not clearly marked in some that were there looks like a driveway as opposed to a campsite but overall the campsite down the bottom were nice /up top were a bit rocky and made it hard to put out a tent with a rubber base or a tent on the ground would have a hard time getting comfortable due to the site themselves being quite rocky and sharp possibly do with some cracker dust or something like that to make pad usable. Amenities in camp kitchen were very well thought of and quite inviting overall we enjoyed our stay.

This is a lovely quiet shaddy spot, out of the hussle n bussle if town. Plenty of great spots to choose from. Amenities were better than some caravan parks we've stayed in. Definitely go back.

On arrival a worker approached our camp intoxicated and made us feel very uncomfortable another staff member was rude didn’t smile or wave other then that the place was very beautiful apart from the scrap metal yard near the caretakers cabins

16 is a large long site in the trees, quite dark due to the tree cover, some level areas and toilets not too far however we moved to the grass trees area. We are staying in our 2wd car and wasnt sure if the road was suitable, it is a steep hill with a bumpy gravel track but it is definitely worth it!! Stunning views, amenities new and clean and beautiful sunsets. They have 2 sun beds by the pool which may need replacing as slightly broken and the walking paths shown on map are not very visable. I really recommend 1770 eco camp and will definitely be back!

Only stayed one night as we were passing through, but could have stayed way longer, good distance between other sites, peaceful camp, clean bathrooms. We drove up to the magnesium pool for sunset which was a really beautiful space.

It’s eco! You’re surrounded by wildlife and it feels like another world would recommend! Amenities are clean and across the road from a new coffee roaster which was welcomed every morning.

When we arrived someone was using the site we booked. We have a 2WD towing a small camper trailer and our car couldn’t cope with the terrain. I suggest 4WD if towing and only 2WD if rooftop tent or sleeping in a swag. We left and boiked elsewhere

Great camp ground. Camp site (site 19) level, it wasn’t too difficult to reverse our 6m caravan into the site. We enjoyed our stay. Amenities were clean and generally pretty good.

Loved the location close to both 1770 and Agnes Waters. Pool was great. Could add a bbq up these. Facilities spotless! All staff were helpful and down to earth. We had our caravan and the site we had was a bit challenging but people helped us out. Enjoyed our week. Price wise it was perfect!! Will be back!!

We stayed for one night in April 2026. Super, super clean facilities. Chris, the owner, was very friendly, even gave us some dog tips. This is a very, very well-run site with heaps of space. Highly recommended if you have a dog. We'll come again.

We'll definitely be back to 1770 eco camp-site! This site and grass trees is amazing. Peaceful, relaxed atmosphere, generous pitches, clean facilities. Plenty for everyone...pool table, table tennis and a lovely pool up at grass trees! I wouldn't however pick pitch 23 again.
