Coming up on the last Sunday of May is the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival, it is always a great weekend for all. There are many wineries in the area to wine & dine, Boat Mountain has some great bushwalks & lookouts and the Kilkivan to Kingaroy Rail Trail is great for those who enjoy a bike ride. Recently opened in Murgon is the fossil museum & fine art gallery, 55 Million Years Ago. On the website a quote states, “In the late 1980’s, fossils found near Boat Mountain just outside Murgon in Southern Queensland rocked the palaeontology world. 15 new fossil species discovered here were found to be 55 million years old, predating any other Eocene period fossils found in Australia by 20 million years.” Suited to all, make a day of it and visit 55 Million Years Ago in the morning, enjoy lunch at a local winery before heading to Boat Mountain to see where they found the fossils and enjoy the sunset. We are a busy working property and horse training facility. Our business consists of backgrounding cattle, growing and irrigating of cattle feed and lucerne, as well as making hay. Our son owners and operates a horse training business on our property. Sit back and enjoy your time while knowing you are supporting a farming family!

Bring your fishing rods as there is silver perch and perch for catch and release fishing only. The rest of the property features open grasslands and bush. We are pet friendly, unpowered sites with access to a flushing portaloo toilet. Campers must have everything they need and leave no trace. Just 20 minutes inland from the beautiful coastal beaches. With flat and comfortable sites, this is a haven for anyone venturing to the Fraser Coast. It's a 2 minute drive into town for supplies and where you can enjoy a range of pubs, cafes and shops. Situated just off the Burnett Highway between Goomeri and Ban Ban Springs, the Boonara Creek is the perfect spot to pull up and unwind for a day or a couple to enjoy the beauty of nature. Enjoy the creek view by day and then watch the sun set to a sky full of stars by night. Don’t forget to bring some marshmallows to toast on your campfire! Australia is full of amazing landscapes which are a treasure to enjoy. We have an abundance of bird life, every so often spot a turtle and if your lucky we recently saw a platypus in the creek. The creek has ample room for fishing, swimming and even kayaking (season dependant). Take a walk along the creek and appreciate being outdoors. We have many attractions within our area. Coming up on the last Sunday of May is the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival, it is always a great weekend for all. There are many wineries in the area to wine & dine, Boat Mountain has some great bushwalks & lookouts and the Kilkivan to Kingaroy Rail Trail is great for those who enjoy a bike ride. Recently opened in Murgon is the fossil museum & fine art gallery, 55 Million Years Ago. On the website a quote states, “In the late 1980’s, fossils found near Boat Mountain just outside Murgon in Southern Queensland rocked the palaeontology world. 15 new fossil species discovered here were found to be 55 million years old, predating any other Eocene period fossils found in Australia by 20 million years.” Suited to all, make a day of it and visit 55 Million Years Ago in the morning, enjoy lunch at a local winery before heading to Boat Mountain to see where they found the fossils and enjoy the sunset. We are a busy working property and horse training facility. Our business consists of backgrounding cattle, growing and irrigating of cattle feed and lucerne, as well as making hay. Our son owners and operates a horse training business on our property. Sit back and enjoy your time while knowing you are supporting a farming family!

Easily accessible property with flat areas for camping and or caravans. Front of block is well grassed with some shade. You walk down through some dry rainforest towards the back of the block which fronts onto Coonarr Creek. There is a small fire pit and also a large one which can be used when it’s the right conditions I.e not too windy and or dry. There is a toilet, shower and camp kitchen if necessary. The block is located very close to the boat ramp where you can launch canoes, kayaks,sup’s and small tinnies. The block is also a 5 minute drive to beautiful Coonarr Beach, which is suitable for swimming and fishing. Coonarr Creek is also suitable for fishing either off the bank or from a craft. Kangaroos are some of the resident wildlife and are often seen around the property and adjacent areas. Located approximately 20 minutes from Bundaberg city and all other attractions in the area. Recommended to bring personal insect repellent and or coils etc.

Revisited after the first time only a few weeks later with my wife, 3 year old son and our frenchie, and we ended up being the only group camping there which was unreal, especially on the first weekend of school holidays. We got to utilise the large stone fire pit and have free rein of the entire area which was quite nice. Nice and well kept camp areas and I’ll be sure to go back again one day.
