"Escape the ordinary and immerse yourself in the heart of nature at Big Rocks Bush Retreat" The tranquil and beautiful bush covered property is nestled on 700 acres, backing directly onto the Woowoonga national park near, Childers Qld.  The Big Rocks Bush Retreat is situated on the foot hills of rugged, mountainous terrain that creates a picturesque spot for camping, biking, horse riding, bush walking and hiking in a diverse and stunning landscape. With a majority of remnant bush land, it’s a naturalists wonderland with a number of native flora and fauna found in few parts of Australia. The facilities on the property are ever evolving and offer; • large fenced area • large communal fire pit . Dog friendly . Must be on leash around camp areas , feel free to take your furry friends off leash on one of our many walking tracks . • two toilets • covered areas • book and toy library • small hobby farm with friendly free ranging goats , chickens and horse . • large horse yards • two dams (great for cooling off) Please note that a 4WD and off road camper are recommended. Nearby hamlets of Childers, Biggenden and Apple Tree Creek have a unique combination of history, culture, food, wine and art in a relaxing atmosphere of country life.  The retreat caters to families, groups, travellers and holiday makers alike. This private creekside campsite with flat grassy area has room for up to 20 guest dependent on camp style whether caravan, tent/swag or camper trailer is easily accessible with drive through convenience. *booking fee is for up to 2 adults and includes firewood, toilet paper and water, additional guests can be added @ $20 per adult, children 12 and under always free. Ths private and picturesque campsite has its own covered area with permanent table and seating for 5, large stone fire pit, private toilet and fresh rain water tank. A perfect setting for a couples get away or small groups offering quiet solitude. *Firewood bundle and up to 1000 lt water is included with initial booking at this site. **please contact us directly for large groups to see if its appropriate for your needs **Groups will be required to make a single booking for all guests **creek flows seasonally

We loved staying at big rocks bush retreat. They were very accommodating and the area was just beautiful to stay. Next time. We will try out a different camp but enjoyed the one we stayed at near main camp was good to be able to bring the dogs and the bikes and have a great weekend away with family.

We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere initiated by John. Lot's of room for us in the Main Camp. My 7.7m long Mitsubishi Rosa (bus to motorhome conversion) handled the interesting track in from the main road without any issues at all. I quite like this park and look forward to future camps there.

A real bush camp but with the bonus of a toilet. Plenty of space to spread out. We went on a hike following the 4wd and dirt bike trails, with gorgeous views from the perfect vantage spots. No problems with access to the property. Will definitely be going back in the future

Great spot. Love the hiking trails into the mountains and the communal area is quite cool with the astro turf pool table. Ranger John is a legend too.

The landscape and scenery at Big Rocks Bush Retreat is stunning. John and Lyn were very accommodating over our stay. Main Camp was the perfect base, with a huge firepit setup and even a space for a game of bush volleyball!

Had the best time camping with friends and little ones. Our dogs were welcomed, and had the best adventure travelling with us. The stars were beautiful at night which made the experience even more wholesome. The farm animals around including the baby lambs and a friendly horse were a bonus.

I enjoyed my experience at the camp. With the wide property it was easy to spread out and have your own space to enjoy and be peaceful. Bonus for having a toilet and a great communal space if needed. Loved seeing the animals roaming the property. Will be back again! Thanks for having us John and Lyn

We were very happy with the campsite we had. Private, with a great fireplace & we were lucky & had a covered picnic table. The communal area of the camp is very tired & needs TLC. There were plenty of tracks for walking or riding, but a lot were becoming overgrown. Sadly, there was no mud map available, either, to give us a general overview of the layout. The property is scenic, with granite boulders & mountain views, and is a great spot to bush camp if you're self sufficient. Our hosts were a little elusive.

This was one of the best camping trips we've ever had. We were lucky enough to get one of the common areas completely to ourselves, so we spread out and enjoyed the magical surrounds. It was amazing to get (mostly) off grid and offline and explore the creeks and bush. John and Lyn were very helpful and hospitable. I loved meeting the animals and we'll definitely be back (next time with the kids!). Thanks again.

Plenty of camp sites to choose from, small to large. Open sites to surrounded by trees. Creek had a slight flow to it, made it feel a little tropical compared to the bush up top. Hosts were friendly, the animals were cute, we checked out the communal area and would be a good area to have some drinks and make some new mates. Tracks were a little overgrown but added to the fun of driving around finding a spot. Would come again to do the walk. Might need a map for next time though.

What a wonderful spot. The granite boulders strewn about add such character. We loved hiking up the hill, and were grateful to find the deeper pool to cool off in afterwards. The horse, cow and sheep were so tame and came to hang out at camp for an afternoon. A well maintained property with a friendly, helpful host. We certainly hope to be back again soon! Thanks John!

Great camp spot, good 4wd tracks out the back of property ( expect a few scrapes and dents). Plenty of quality walking tracks. Peaceful and quiet. Care takers were very informative regarding the property and areas to visit. Will definitely be back.

Great bush camping, beautiful running creek when we there. So peaceful. After rain, I wouldn’t recommend towing a caravan that’s not meant for off roading.
