This is a full working farm and we restore vintage caravans and classic cars. You will see us pottering in the garden or walking our poodle, but we will leave you to your privacy.
We have a beautiful vintage bus that we have converted into a farm shop and you can buy olives, relishes, honey, jam, seasonings, magnesium and more.
We welcome small gatherings to celebrate birthdays, engagements or function (Christmas etc) just let us know during the booking process. We would appreciate quiet after 10pm.
We are only 8 minutes from shops in town and a short drive for all of the Scenic Rim's attractions. We are in the heart of The Scenic Rim.
The camping grounds is private and picturesque in our back paddocks - looking back over our olive grove and out to the great dividing range. We have fire pits set up in the camp area - please bring an extinguisher, wood and matches. The camp grounds has an easy access and campers have had no issues levelling out on the gentle slope or go higher up the paddock to the trees and the ground is level with the best views of the mountain ranges.
Olive View Farm is ideal for self sufficient campers.
At the front of the property near the bus shop we have permanent picnic tables set up for anyone to use.
Dogs on a lead are welcome - we have lots of Kangaroos and Wallabies and we want to protect them.
We are always on site and happy to help with anything you need.

* After launching, vehicles and trailers must be parked back up the hill within the Pointro boundary.
* Marquees and similar structures must be at least 6 metres from the water’s edge.
* Boats may be moored during the day but must be removed overnight.
Breaches may result in fines from SEQ Water, which will be passed on to the responsible party.

The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve.
We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking.
Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome.
The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping.
The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property.
The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic
Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day.
There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. Above, birds of prey ride the thermals of the valley looking for their next meal.

We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here.
This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here.
No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

There are other challenging summit routes and climbing sites for experienced rockclimbers and abseilers. Or you might want to pull up a hammock and just laze the day away.

Site 1 right down on the creek large grass flat space big enough for two families to set up camp. The creek runs around the outside so there are a number of viewing points to see the wildlife mentioned above. A set of solar lights hang over the firepit area allowing for more light while cooking on our wonderful swinging hotplate BBQ.
Site 2 Our newer spot work in progress not so ideal for camper trailers. your situated under our tree line away from the main creek. A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night.
Swimming in the creek is not recommended.
So please check by internal message before confirming your booking that way we can confirm a spot while discussing your needs to ensure you have a clear view of your camping area.
Onsite we have our shared outhouse porta toilet which is positioned in the middle of both camping areas for everyone's convenience.

Tent in The Forest caters for those looking to surround themselves in nature. There is no traffic, no one camping beside you, no other than the bird sweet sounds of the forest and all of nature that surrounds you.
When you book Tent in The Forest, you are booking the entire camp ground. It is yours to enjoy, explore, entertain, relax, unwind, or catch up on some rest.
Tent in The Forest is fully self contained campsite. All linen, bedding, gas top cooker, fridge, and kitchen utensils are here for you to use. There are hammocks, camp chairs, tables, and a dining suite all for you to enjoy. We provide organic toiletries including certified organic soap, hand sanitizer, and toilet paper.
Tent in The Forest is an eco friendly camp ground. We use solar power for our 12v systems, gravity fed water, and toilet waste is managed using a drop toilet which is then composted. If you are unfamiliar and want to know more about our off grid power, water, and waste systems please contact us.
Outside of Tent in The Forest the beautiful township of Kin Kin awaits you.
At the Black Ant Cafe, you will find Jodie Williams and her team make mouth watering food and drinks throughout the day and on Friday nights. Enjoy breakfast daily, grab a bite for lunch, or zero in on there Friday night pizza night, popular with locals and visitors. The Black Ant Cafe also is your one stop shop for essential supplies such as milk, bread, coffee, etc.
The beaches of Noosa, including the national parks which surround them can be reached within the hour. Rainbow Beach, Lake Cootharabah, The Everglades, and lots more places to see and do are all within a short drive.

Our stay at Nisha's property was absolutely lovely. The gardens are very well maintained, shower and toilet were clean and very comfortable and it was nice and quiet besides the occasional sounds of the local farm animals.
Nisha was a fantastic host, easy to communicate with prior to our arrival and was very welcoming during our stay. She was kind enough to invite us and our son to feed the chooks and pick some lovely fresh fruits. Absolutely wonderful space for anyone looking for a quiet spot with the family, friends or even solo.

Beautiful, spacious, private. The creek was crystal clear though not quite deep enough to swim in. Plenty of flat, green grass to park up on and Phil was lovely and extremely accommodating.

Lovely large open space with trees for shade, nicely mowed, fire pits scattered around and lovely sunrise and sunset. Quaint shop on site for local delights. Close to Boonah, Kalbar, Logan’s Lookout, Elderflower Farm, Lavender Farm and Motorcycle Museum. Local pubs at Roadvale, Boonah & Kalbar were all great lunch venues to then enjoy a fireside afternoon & evening. The owner/operator came around in the afternoon to make sure everyone was ok. Cows and a couple of kangaroos provided nature up close. Thank you Kate

We thoroughly enjoyed our caravanning stay at Olive View Camping. The campsites are spacious, well maintained, and thoughtfully laid out, with plenty of room between each mown site for privacy and comfort.
We had four vans spread across two adjoining sites, with our vans set up around one of the provided fire pits, and there was still more than enough space for everyone. It’s also extremely dog-friendly, making it a fantastic choice for travellers with furry companions.

We had a party of 6 with 3 cars, a dog, and a cat, all staying at the camp-site. We had an amazing weekend. We loved the provided campfire kitchen and cooked up some deadly meals during our stay. The creek was right next to our camp and provided a great spot for a swim, to wash ourselves and our dishes.
The spot was very easy to find, despite there being 3 sites, due to the easy to follow signs.
The hosts were great, and Phil came down and encouraged us to come feed the native wildlife at night. Unfortunately we didnt get around to attending this, but next time we will!
No complaints, great spot, and 20 minutes from Mareeba CBD if we needed to get anything.
What a great get-away :) thanks so much Phil and Janette. Will be back again soon!!

A group of friends and I came up from Brisbane and stayed at Big Fig Camp for the weekend. I can’t recommend this campsite and host highly enough it’s everything you’d want in a camping experience.
We especially loved the watering hole and diving board. The views were stunning, and the night sky was so clear we could see the Milky Way. Hot showers and clean toilets were the cherry on top.
Great spot—I’ll definitely be back.

This property is very well kept and a beautiful spot to relax.
The platform is great especially if the weather has been wet
Clean toilets and a lovely spot for the cold shower as it catches the morning sun
The hosts were very responsive and gave very detailed instructions regarding location and arrival.
The bamboo fence gives a lot of privacy which is nice (maybe a few less panels would give a bit more of a natural feel but overall a good concept)
We had a really lovely time here and would definitely come back!

Weekend Trip to Pointro Bunkhouse and Campground
Absolutely loved our stay at Pointro’s land. The whole property was peaceful and quiet, which made it the perfect place to switch off and relax. Everything was very clean and well looked after — especially the shower blocks and toilets, which were spotless the entire time. The showers were also nice and hot, which was awesome after a long day outdoors.
The fireplaces were a standout and made the nights so enjoyable, and the access to the dam was perfect. You can tell a lot of care has gone into the setup here.
