We loved camping down by the billabong at Gootchie creek. The kids had so much fun swimming and riding their bikes around. Camp sites were spacious, lots of room even over Easter weekend. The special events for the long wknd were great too, We’ll be back!

We had the best time at Goochie Creek. The property is beautiful, the creek is lovely for swimming. All the sites were spread out nicely and the amenities were great.
They do state the noise curfew is 9:30pm however on Saturday night they had live music that was loud, echoed through the whole camp ground and didn’t finish until 10:45pm. We found this a bit disrespectful to families with kids and those who weren’t interested in the music. We respected the curfew but they didn’t, very strange.

From the first enquiry, communication was warm, friendly, and genuinely supportive. I’d been looking forward to staying at Goochie for ages, and Easter absolutely delivered — even better than expected.
There’s heaps of space for everyone. Whether you want to be social or tucked away enjoying some peace and quiet, there’s a perfect spot. The billabong is a highlight — plenty of room for swimming, kayaks, and floaties. It’s not a pool, but hey, you’re in the Aussie countryside… just rinse off after and you’re sweet.
Facilities are great — clean, well-maintained amenities, plenty of toilets and showers, and lots of fire pits (or BYO). We reached out beforehand due to a family need, and Nikki was incredibly helpful and accommodating, which made a big difference.
There’s loads to enjoy — grassy areas for footy or cricket, space for bikes, shady spots to relax, and beautiful wildlife everywhere. The cows and calves were a crowd favourite!
The hosts go above and beyond — welcoming, down-to-earth, and clearly passionate. Easter was full of optional fun: markets, food stalls, live music, movies under the stars, and even the Easter Bunny.
Bonus — dogs are welcome too!
At night, it’s peaceful and magical with stars overhead and total quiet. With nearby fuel stops and Gympie just a short drive away, everything you need is close by.
We’re so grateful for the experience — such a beautiful slice of paradise. We’ll definitely be back!

We loved our spot with our van right near the beautiful billabong, the view every day was spectacular. Wonderful bird life and very friendly ducks that would come every day, we watched the guys muster the cows around and that was exciting to see.

Great stay at Gootchie Creek Escape. Plenty of space to spread out and not be next to other campers. Nice billabongs (not all swimmable) and pet friendly.

Great property with convenient facilities (Toilet and Hot Showers), a lot of space both flat and hilly. A nice fresh billabong to cool down and tracks that you can ride around on a bike. Sometimes there is live music and a bar open on special occasions. Overall a lovely spot and very well run.

Camped over the Aus day long weekend and had a blast! We were the group of about 9 girls. Loved the swimming hole and rope swing. Toilets and showers were always clean even in mornings when the grass is dewy and rain came through. Can’t wait to return for the rodeo!

We enjoyed Gootchie, great place to get away with pets or kids. The Billabong is a great draw card. Clean flushing toilets, clean showers and a little bar area overlooking the land and just nice to wander around.

I’ve stayed here before because it is peaceful, spacious, mowed grass, clean amenities, plus an amazing swimming hole with pontoon, and, I’ll stay there again.

Couldn’t believe how big the camp was! We have such an array of sites to choose from and we were so impressed! We stayed off the back of the storm over Christmas so a lot of the land was quite soft and holding onto the rain water but we found the perfect spot! It was very quiet majority of the time. We loved when the cows stopped by the camp, they’re so friendly and beautiful! The toilets and shower area were kept clean and tidy also!

What a wonderful find! Plenty of room to spread out, the billabong kept the kids entertained for hours and the cows were the highlight of our trip! The facilities were clean and tidy and a definite bonus.

We loved camping at Gootchie Creek Escape. There was plenty of space to spread out along the water and we did not feel too crowded. The land and amenities were kept so clean which was fantastic. Having the cows wondering around and turtles popping their heads up from the water was an added bonus! We will definitely be back again!

What a great place!! Loved the open spaces and ability to choose my campsite. The cows were so quiet and no trouble around my camp.
I stayed to check out the birdlife and wasnt disappointed. Wish I could of stayed longer!
