On the website a quote states, “In the late 1980’s, fossils found near Boat Mountain just outside Murgon in Southern Queensland rocked the palaeontology world. 15 new fossil species discovered here were found to be 55 million years old, predating any other Eocene period fossils found in Australia by 20 million years.” Suited to all, make a day of it and visit 55 Million Years Ago in the morning, enjoy lunch at a local winery before heading to Boat Mountain to see where they found the fossils and enjoy the sunset. We are a busy working property and horse training facility. Our business consists of backgrounding cattle, growing and irrigating of cattle feed and lucerne, as well as making hay. For the adventurous campers who use swags/tents, we suggest a stretcher and a gazebo with walls for a little comfort. Some areas need 4wd also. Check in is after 1pm and check out is strictly before 10.30am, we promise you will get your 'Heilen Coo' fix 😝 We have Souvineers and firewood please bring cash 😍 Be mindful around all animals as they get to know you, be smart please. Kids can bring bikes, must be supervised at all times, no screaming or running. Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉 Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe. Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties. Don’t have a kayak, no worries. We also have kayaks available for hire. We also have the most magnificent sunrises and sunsets here, with beautiful birdlife including hawks and water eagles. Great for bird watching and photography! All campsites have access to the water unless we are advised per booking. Less than 5km down the road you will find Wallaville where there is a great local Wallaville pub, and a corner store that offers great pizza. Telstra is available for communication, and we are also only 18km from Gin Gin and around 50km from Bundaberg. Campfires permitted in the designated areas only, bring your own fire pit when possible as we have a limited number of fire pits available. when fire restrictions/bans are not in place. Plenty of fallen timber around the place to collect for firewood. Park your caravan or pitch your tent by the creek, Stockyard Creek. On our 28 acre property you have access to an extremely large dam for your water toys ( non powered) and mowed walking tracks all over the property. Campers must be self contained with their own toilet. Kangaroos are everywhere and an abundance of birdlife have the 2nd very large dam all to themselves. The site provides complete privacy and peace and quiet except for the bird song. The Heritage township of Childers is 5 minutes away by car, Woolies, restaurants as well as a main street that is very worth while walking down. Great coffee shops and interesting old Hotels. Experience the charm of our countryside with supervised visits with our horses and Highland cows. Join us around 4:30 pm for the afternoon feed and grooming session. (Please note: The Highland Coos are away visiting a bull December and January 2025) Relax and enjoy a meal at the BBQ area, which overlooks the horse arena. If you bring your horse, for an additional fee, you can explore our arena featuring dressage letters, obstacles, drums, and jumps, or test your skills in a dedicated area with permanent obstacles. For your convenience, our well-equipped camp kitchen includes a fridge, toaster, kettle, electric frypan, and microwave, along with all the necessary cutlery and crockery. Please remember to clean up after using the kitchen to keep it welcoming for everyone. In the kitchen area you will also find a pool table and dart board and arcade game for your use. If you choose to bring your horse you will find stabling or yards under Extras as begin your booking. The cost can be seen as you view the sites. The stables are rubber floored, meaning you use minimal sawdust therefore minimal dust. They are equipped with automatic waterers and feed bins. The yards are separated so that the horses can't reach each other from one yard to the other. Please ensure these areas are cleaned before you leave. There are rakes and wheelbarrows provided near the arena and at the end of the stables for your convenience. Our sites are best suited to self contained camping but there is shower and toilet availability on the property. We have 9 gorgeous Scottish Highlands, the Scottish folk pronounce it "Heilen Coos" so that's how we say it, I'm not spelling it wrong 🤩😆You'll meet Kelvin the Scottish Highland Bull, Oakley her calf Lucy, Willow and her calf Ferdinand (Ferdi), and our new additions Dusty and Maddi, they can be both fun and relaxing to watch doing zoomies around the yard, swimming in the dam or chilling under a tree 😁 We have 2 new little ones Alfie and Angus Keep in mind from December to March we have hot, rainy summers. For the adventurous campers who use swags/tents, we suggest a stretcher and a gazebo with walls for a little comfort. Some areas need 4wd also. Check in is after 1pm and check out is strictly before 10.30am, we promise you will get your 'Heilen Coo' fix 😝 We have Souvineers and firewood please bring cash 😍 Be mindful around all animals as they get to know you, be smart please. Kids can bring bikes, must be supervised at all times, no screaming or running. Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉 Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe. Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties. Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. I. run a cattle grazing farm in Duingal, right on the Burnett River, 18km out of Gin Gin and 60km from Bundaberg. We have 100 acres of paradise with many sites to choose from, either along our 300m of Burnett river frontage or along the winding Duingal creek tucked into seclusion. For the bigger vans we have sites up on top of the property overlooking the Burnett with just a short walk down to the water. There are NO Ammenities available so own toilet is a MUST! Bring your fishing rods, kayaks and walking shoes. There's some great fishing here including barramundi, perch, yellow belly mullet, gar - and plenty of catfish to keep the kids entertained! Don’t have a kayak, no worries. We also have kayaks available for hire. We also have the most magnificent sunrises and sunsets here, with beautiful birdlife including hawks and water eagles. Great for bird watching and photography! All campsites have access to the water unless we are advised per booking. Less than 5km down the road you will find Wallaville where there is a great local Wallaville pub, and a corner store that offers great pizza. Telstra is available for communication, and we are also only 18km from Gin Gin and around 50km from Bundaberg. Campfires permitted in the designated areas only, bring your own fire pit when possible as we have a limited number of fire pits available. when fire restrictions/bans are not in place. Plenty of fallen timber around the place to collect for firewood. I suggest U bring wood for the ist night, In case it has rained & saves the hassle first up allowing U to chill out sooner 🥂 Well behaved pets welcome, but they must be kept under control and you must pick up after them. Chrissy and Duane were extremely hospitable and generous to my boyfriend and I on our one night stay on their farm. The land is beautiful and animals were so gentle. We had the opportunity to feed the highland cows and lambs, made a campfire amongst the beautiful scenery, and indulged in the gift shop too. I would highly recommend this site to families, couples, and single travellers. Anyone would be able to find beauty here and I am sure we will revisit again!

We had a fantastic time at gumtree dam highlands. Chrissy and Duane were so helpful and friendly, and great to have a chat with. The animals were so cute, and the farm itself was beautiful. The little shop is really handy for firewood and ice, as well as souvenirs and knick knacks. This is a great place to go to get away for a while, and well worth a drive!! I would go again any day of the week, 100/10

We loved our stay here. We had two caravans (15' and 21') and easily accessed a beautiful spot Jennifer picked out for us. It was right on the river with easy access to the water and a fire pit. It was very relaxing here. There were other campers in the property, but they were out of sight. We hired a kayak and a canoe and had a great time fishing and relaxing. It's a really lovely spot.

Great spot, fantastic dam for swimming and a paddle with free kayak use. Love the jetty and boat shed! Beautiful grassed campground but be prepared to do some leveling if you are in a caravan on some sites. Can't comment on toilet's as we are self contained so didn't use those facilities.

Such a gorgeous spot!! We had an incredible time camping at site 2, plenty of space from other campers! The toilets were flush toilets, with running handwashing water and soap, very clean! Our dog had the best time watching all the activity, going for leash free walkies on the hiking trail and having nice big swims in the dam! We also had fun with the complimentary kayaks! Owner is super nice and welcoming! This will definitely be our family camping spot from now on!

We recently had a fantastic time over the three days and two nights we stayed. If you are looking for space, peace and quiet, there is plenty of it here. The drive into the property is scenic, we saw a calf being born on the way in, lots of cattle, bird life including an emu & chick and horses. There's plenty to see and do, lots of wild life all over the property. Col and Blodwen were amazing and very friendly, made us feel welcome and at ease during our stay. There is plenty of camping area for larger gatherings or multiple groups. There's a RV site also for anyone to use. The directions to the property were easy to understand and if you have questions they are eager to help out. We missed the rain to get the creeks flowing but it didn't disappoint. We will be going back, most definitely. Not forgetting our two dogs got a very well deserved time away also.

My favourite place to camp is at Gumtree Dam Highlands, the place, the animals, the peace & the people. Your hosts, Chrissy & Duane go above & beyond to look after their animals & guests. You'll feel safe & relaxed, it's a perfect place for solo campers, couples, families & groups. Highlights are definitely feeding and brushing the Highland Cows, and watching all the other farm animals. Not to forget beautiful sunrises & sunsets too. If you want to explore the property there's lots to see walking or bike riding around, and/or explore the local area - 10 minute drive to Childers, and 25 minutes to Woodgate Beach. Gorgeous walking track down to rock pools. Kid friendly (not for strollers though), our 4yo was easily able to complete the 3km (total). Rockpools were filled with water and we were able to swim.

Rock pools are lovely, Mt Walsh walk was challenging but worth it, I think we made it 3/4 of the way up to where we had a great view.

Was a great challenging short but steep hike and climb from the Mt Walsh picnic ground. Would have been good to check out the utopia falls a shortish drive away. There was also another walk on the other side of the range (along the isis highway) which I was unaware off and didn’t leave another time for that hike.
