Weekend Trip to Estate Lodges Caravan & Camping

We had a great time camping here. Nice little spot with clean facilities.

The panic room site 4 is not as bad as it sound's, the isolated location is a great 4wd track for novices. The Portaloo was clean, well stocked and bug free. Our camp site was amongst the cows in the valley, separated by a simple electric rope. The shelter over the table next to the firepit and swing had a great rustic feel under the trees. Walking tracks around, but couldn’t really see them. Maybe we were just in Orr of the surrounding hills. We also ventured out to check out other sites that had breathtaking views and quirky touches. The shower block at the entry into the camp was well thought of and also had a great rustic theme. Cameron was lovely and more than happy to offer good advice. We would recommend this camp to others and will return with our friends.

2 nights at Larapinta

Highly recommend this beautiful piece of land. We stumbled across this beautiful place while searching through Hipcamps. Quickly realising it was 7 hours away, we decided to YOLO and head on up for our second ever Hipcamp experience. You will need a 4WD, as the trails to the magnificent sites were steep. The views were spectacular, the atmosphere serene; we were so happy with our decision to travel to this amazing place.

1 night at Sublime Camping

Very quiet spot not far from main road into Rainbow Beach and Tin Can Bay. Would be perfect for overnight before catching first barge to K’gari the next day. We were lucky the trees in the camp area had lots of fruit so scored some free oranges, limes and lemons!

Spending a night at Little Bunya was truly a special experience. Carolyn, the host, was incredibly kind and gave clear, thoughtful explanations that made our stay at Riverdell unforgettable. The view was stunning, and the whole place had a nice, chill vibe. It was also a great spot for a peaceful walk, and perfect for visiting with kids. One last thing, don’t miss the Wagyu steak. It’s absolutely delicious! We’ll definitely be back again.

7 nights at Browns Creek Camping

Myself hubby and our 4legged old girl got to stay here at browns creek for a week Friday to Friday. The Monday inbetween was a public holiday but come Monday afternoon it was just us 3 for the rest of our stay, but even with others camping there was enough space for each camp to have their space and privacy - there was plenty of rain over the week here, you do need to pop it into 4wd getting in and out when it’s wet and just take it steady and you’ll be alright it’s solid under the mud. There’s a neat little spot near the table (we were lucky enough to get this spot) to your left off the main track in, plenty of grass, shade and the sound of the creek flowing you can also walk down into the creek (would be awesome here at summer) and all the birds around, it truely was peaceful and pretty. 15/20min drive into eumundi we checked out the markets, and utilised the free public dump point at Nambour (again like a 15min drive) it was near and tidy also topped up our water here - free water at the cemetery and a wheelie bin for a rubbish dump- just checked on wiki camps for the closest ones. We will definitely return

My partner and I were very happy with Rangetop Farm Ocean View Qld. The camp site was clean and huge private space to set up for the night. The view was spectacular. Host Viola was easy to communicate with. We even had friendly horses and cows greet us through the night which we thought was very cool. We could take our dog, have a fire, all we could want in a camping experience.

Beautiful location. The drive there was so scenic, checking in was easy. Only thing to consider for tent campers is that the ground is not very levelled. If you have a caravan or rooftop tent then no issues. Other than that everything was amazing!

This camp is an easy seven minute drive from the Gympie Music Muster site. Get in early to set up camp at your choice of positions on a mostly flat paddock in the crook of huge private valley. 4WD is not totally necessary but may be advantageous in wet weather or to those wanting to get off the beaten track. With creek frontage, shade trees overhead and ranging hills behind, at this camp site you will be sure to catch sight of many birds, wallabies, and other wildlife. Bring your camera! There is a porta loo (and coming soon, a hot shower) on site, we will hire more if bookings are thick but if you are self contained that is awesome! We have a few fire pits and rings available. Exploring the area is a must. You have the creek right here and the forest, nearby are National Parks with marked trails, more creeks to swim in and wildlife to observe. Bunya Farm Produce is open on Saturday mornings for a taste of the best offerings around and Amamoor markets greet the steam train every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday morning. There are many farm-gate suppliers in the region for you try our fresh produce. Kybong has "Hell Town Hotrods" as you imagine, this place is an Alladin's Cave for those into anything vintage, retro, car or petrol.... complete with a workshop for custom hotrod rebuilds. Hopevale Adventure Camping

The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve. We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking. Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome. The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. Above, birds of prey ride the thermals of the valley looking for their next meal. “We have been blessed beyond measure with a small slice of God’s wonderful creation that we would love to share with you.”

Hunchy Hills 4WD Bush Camping

Formally a banana & pineapple plantation, Hunchy Hills is strictly 4WD only access property. There is a toilet and gas hot shower included. If you have a camper trailer it needs to be off-road/high clearance and you need to be experienced in towing off road. No caravans sorry, too steep and tight. Sites 1-3 are large level pads approx. 12M by 12M, each with their own fire pit and log seat. Site 4 is perched on the side of the hill and 6M by 6M in size. Go fishing at Baroon Pocket Dam and have a swim at Obi Obi Creek or Kondalilla Falls or Gardeners Falls. If you're after some saltwater it's a 30 min drive to most beaches on the coast.

Andrew Drynan Park-Camp with a view

Andrew Drynan Park is situated on Running Creek, 47 km south of Beaudesert and 19 km from Rathdowney on the Lions Road. The drive from Brisbane will take a couple of hours. It has an impressive backdrop formed by Mt Chinghee. Running Creek is a lovely flowing creek which is very inviting in summer and the park offers a great bush camp. Toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and swimming. BYO drinking water. Pets to be restrained. No showers—a dip in the creek will keep you clean but please don’t use soap or detergent. Directions: At Rathdowney, turn left into Running Creek Rd and travel approximately 17km south east. Campers & Day Trippers Rules: The Park is for everyone to enjoy, so please adhere to a few simple guidelines while enjoying this beautiful park. By using this park you agree to the following rules. All vehicles entering the park must observe 10 Km per hour speed limit. Fires must be extinguished prior to departure. Park users must clean up their area when leaving, by taking all rubbish, including food scraps and disposable nappies with them, so the next users can enjoy the Park as well. Do not burn your rubbish. It must be taken with you! The disposal of nappies in the grass around the waterline, and in fire pits, is a serious risk to human health, the health of the creek, surrounding stock and the ecosystem! Please be respectful of other camper’s space & privacy! Do not set up on top of other campers. Generator use is restricted to 4 hours per day between the hours of 2pm to 6pm. Dogs must be on short leads and confined to your campsite at all times. No music or noise after 10pm, noise level must at all times be at an acceptable level so as not to disturb other users. No antisocial behavior. No camping on creek banks. No playing around toilet block area. No livestock to be kept on the park. No cutting down trees. No person to travel in the load area of vehicles. No motorcycles other than on the formed roads or when moving between your campsite and the road. No stock whips, firearms or weapons of any sort, chainsaws, drones or fireworks allowed in the park. No use of detergents, soaps or shampoos in creek. No washing dishes or clothing in creek. No hitting of Golf balls. No cricket with cricket ball (tennis ball ok). No swings to be tied to trees. Anyone who is non-compliant may be directed by park management to leave the park and if so must leave without delay. Non-compliance will be referred to local Police and you may face legal action for trespassing. Park management reserves the right to refuse anyone entry to and use of the park. Any exploration of the property or travel to toilets is strictly on foot only- NO 4WD'ing. Anyone driving around the property will be asked to leave. We have sites both near the creek and facilities and up on the plateau. Our elevated/remote sites require capable 4WD's with off-road/AT tyres and campers need to be fully self-sufficient including having their own sealed chemical camping toilet and an ensuite/privacy tent. If you don't have your own commercial chemical camping toilet then you will be given a choice of sites with access to facilities. We reserve the right to view/verify your toilet before allowing you access to the elevated/remote sites. Caravans are restricted on where they can access- with no guarantee of sufficient sunlight for solar. Elevated/remote sites cannot be reached with a caravan- please bear this in mind if booking with a caravan. Well behaved dogs are welcome as long as they are on a lead when moving about the property. Please let us know if you wish to bring a dog and you will be allocated an appropriate site as some areas of the property are designated 'dog-free' camping zones. The common area (old shearing shed) has composting toilets, communal fridge, microwave, jug, drinking water, sink for washing up and table/chairs. There is 500 m of (shallow) creek frontage, kms of walking/riding trails and grassy creek flats for recreational activities. Over the decades, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses. There is also a variety of fruit trees and plantation timber. Please note that arrival must be in daylight hours with sufficient time for orientation, travel to your site and set up before dark. The camp grounds has an easy access and campers have had no issues levelling out on the gentle slope or go higher up the paddock to the trees and the ground is level with the best views of the mountain ranges. Olive View Farm is ideal for self sufficient campers. At the front of the property near the bus shop we have permanent picnic tables set up for anyone to use. Dogs on a lead are welcome - we have lots of Kangaroos and Wallabies and we want to protect them. We are always on site and happy to help with anything you need. *Please note any negative feedback for camping received was from a festival that took place on our property in 2022 and the event organisers promised the campers facilities and did not deliver. Our property is located on the site of the First Kilkivan Township and was home to a gold rush in 1868 where a 73 oz nugget was discovered. Guests will have access to a portable toilet and fire pit throughout their stay. Gold is still found in and around the creek with fossicking permitted at an extra daily rate of $25 per person. As this is private property we require that all the QLD Fossicking Act rules and regulations are followed this includes having your own permit which must be supplied before fossicking is permitted. Maluka Park

Please notify us if you are camping with other campers who have booked a separate site so we can have you camping beside each other. During busy times, most weekend bookings are a minimum of 2 nights with 1 night bookings during the week, however occasionally we will have 1 night bookings on weekends. Check with your host to see availability on 1 night bookings. Kayaks are provided free of charge for all campers to use in Yabba Creek. Please treat them respectfully and return them back to their launching place just below the powerlines. If you wish to bring along your own kayak, you can launch them at the walkway between campsite 8 and 9 where our camp kayaks are stored, however, cars are restricted from driving down to the water edge so you will have to carry them to the water to launch them. Please note that you are responsible for your own kayak. All campsites run parallel too the creek and are situated on the upper bank of Yabba Creek. Some have creek views, the other sites have trees between the creek and their site. All have mountain views. The main access to the creek is half way along the campground between site 8 and 9. Please do not leave your car parked in the walkway as this will block the entrance to campsite 9. Unfortunately, we lost many of our creek access points due to flooding. Our property is situated between Imbil and Lake Borumba on the beautiful Yabba Creek. We have 110 acres, with campsites on 20 acres. We have 1km of creek frontage. The creek offers fishing, swimming and kayaking. If you're lucky you'll spot the platypus in the creek and there's lots of birdlife around so bring your cameras! Kayaks are supplied free for all campers to use. We just ask that you treat them with respect and return them back to their launching place once you have finished with them. It would pay to pack your reef walkers as the river is rocky in spots. There is lots of space for motorhomes and large camping vehicles to maneuver and park. Plenty of flat spots for your tent or vehicle. This campsite has access to flushing toilets (toilets are situated approx. 400m from the camp sites) and water (rainwater), but you will need to bring your own camping shower. Campfires are permitted outside of fire-ban season (please use the existing firepits). The property features a gorgeous rainforest with a walking track that you can follow safely, and you can also access the state forest next door if you're up for a bigger adventure. Lake Borumba is just down the road which permits water skiing, boating, fishing and other water recreation. The town ship of Imbil is only 7 minutes away where you can visit the many cafes, bakeries, The Imbil pub, Sunday markets, Produce and hardware store, supermarket, butcher, clothing shops, hairdresser, fishing supplies, Petrol station, post office and more. We are a working cattle and horse property but we do allow pets, however pet owners will need to abide by the rules as set out under the Rules and Safety "Pets" section. Please note that there is a rifle range within hearing distance from Maluka Park and campers may at times on weekends hear gunshots. This generally only goes for a few hours.

Deep Dime

Deep Dime is a 400 acre cattle, fodder and irrigated grain farm. Our primary crop is Lucerne for hay. Creekside Camp (our main camping area) is relatively flat, well drained sites along a creek that usually runs. This area offers multiple composting toilets and wood powered hot water bush shower and outdoor bath. There is also a large permanent deep waterhole a short distance from this camping area. We have temporarily paused out Hill camp sites, due to continuing property maintenance and improvements. The Hilltop on our place is a lovely spot to watch the sunset with a glass of your favorite beverage, and even if you are camped at Creekside, you are welcome to walk or drive up to hilltop. Just remember we are a working property, so leave gates as you find them. Attractions include kayaking - provided and are free to use, hiking in adjacent Imbil state forest and wildlife watching. Platypus are frequently sighted in the Yabba creek. Lungfish can also be viewed while kayaking or snorkelling. Koalas, wallabies, gonnas and an abundance of bird life are also commonly sighted. Dogs are welcome on very strict conditions as we have farm animals including, chickens, horses and a turkey, so must remain secure on a leash at all times. Dogs with hunting or chasing nature are not welcome for the safety of our animals and wildlife. Porta toilet available. BYO if you wish to camp further away from main area. BYO fire wood or we can supply 15kg for $10. Personal fires permitted but above ground fireplaces must be used. We have a small amount for hire for $5.00 each. Generators permitted between the hours of 7am and 9pm only. Pets allowed but need to be on a lead at all times. Unisex flushing toilets with non-potable water. Must bring your own drinking water. We have a Beach Volleyball court, basketball hoop and swing set. Lots to see in the area. Hillview Drive Mountain Bike Trail and Brisbane Valley Rail Trail are a short walk/bike ride from the property. Canoe/Kayak entry point to the Brisbane river off Kholo Road (5km) Our price of $20.00 per site is aimed at two adults and up to three children. Each set up (tent, van or vehicle) is a separate site. There is also a great spot to watch the kangaroos coming for a drink and to lay under the trees. The most exciting part is, you could get lucky and see a Koala sitting in a gumtree beside your vehicle.
