Due to new council regulations, we can no longer camp directly near the creek edges as we did before. Our campsites have now been relocated to higher ground, offering beautiful views of the creek. The creek entrances are accessible within 50 to 300 meters, depending on the path you choose. Unplug and unwind at our 22 acre camping paradise nestled amongst the rolling green hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Listen to the babbling water sounds of Scrubby Creek and the Mary River that meandering through the perimeter of the property for over 1 kilometer. Stroll through our mini rainforest, paddle in the creek or have a dip in one of the many rock pools. We will even let you build as many rock towers as you like! Throw an inner tube in the creek and float around while the kids laugh and play all day long. Let the kids dig holes or fossick for the perfect skimming rocks, ride bikes or play endless games on the beautiful landscaped grass. Plenty of trees to put up that hammock or soak in the creek with views overlooking the wilderness. Sit back and gaze at the starlit skies while the kids roast yet another marshmallow on the campfire. Snuggle up during winter and cool down around the rainforest in summer. Abundant wildlife, lots of kangaroos and wallabies, koalas and beautiful birds everywhere. Please be aware that weekends are family times and do get busy with extra people. During the week it is very quiet and you could have the whole place to yourself. Sites are allocated on weekends based on numbers, if you are in caravans or tents and if you are camping with children. We have 12 large grassy sites nestled amongst trees located at the higher part of our property. Each site is large and can allow group bookings. Loads of space for tents, camper trailers, caravans or motorhomes. The camping sites are close together however there is loads of areas to set up along the creek during the day. Pets permitted but must be restrained.

Due to new council regulations, we can no longer camp directly near the creek edges as we did before. Our campsites have now been relocated to higher ground, offering beautiful views of the creek. The creek entrances are accessible within 50 to 300 meters, depending on the path you choose. We have 22 acres of natural bushland in the Conondale Valley, between Maleny and Kenilworth; in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Less than an hour to Caloundra and Sunshine Coast beaches. Sites allocated on weekend, public and school holidays. We have endangered wildlife on the property including frogs in the creek. We are very passionate about protecting the habitat, so our property only suits eco-friendly campers who follow leave no trace principles. Sites are allocated by owner based on your group numbers, children, dogs and camp set up. We have 12 camp sites safely on higher ground. Only a couple of sites now back onto the creek. All sites are within a very short walk to the creek. You are welcome to set up on the creekside during the day however camping is only permitted in the designated areas as approved by council. Parts of our property may experience sudden flash flooding as we are in a low area and boardered by two creeks. Upon entering our property, you and your booking companions agree to adhere to all emergency protocols and instructions from our team. If instructed to relocate to higher ground, immediate compliance is essential for the safety of your family and our staff. We have a designated evacuation zone: the Top Paddock Emergency Area, situated by the silver shed at the check-in spot Frequently Asked Questions - Firewood (hardwood) $25 per bag - Mobile Service is not available on the property however Wifi can be purchased from us for $10 per person per stay - Plenty of spots, we only take limited bookings. All within 50-500m to creek entrances (depending on the direction you take) - Campfires permitted - make your own permitted. - Campers must be self-sufficient. We would prefer it if you have your own toilet and shower. This is not a dig a hole and bury facility. We have a back up toilet for you just in case.

The whole site is absolutely gorgeous, beautifully lush and well maintained. Flushing loos and running water was also really amazing. Thea was super lovely as well - there was even dampa on offer one of the nights! In saying that, this place was not quite right for my friend and I as we’d just come from the noisy city for a weekend of peace and quiet. The smaller campsites were pretty close together and didn’t offer heaps of privacy. Lawn-mowing happened on the Saturday morning and on Friday there was some chainsaw noises (cutting a branch/tree for safety) which is all fine except for the fact that we chose this place as it looked quite peaceful and private and said maintenance happens during the week. The sites that we would have felt a little more ‘at home’ in were located at the other side of the property and were reserved for big groups (although there was only 1 big group in by the looks). I get wanting to keep some sites away from the smaller groups for noise reasons, but I feel like it was just traded for a set of suburban noises from kids, barking dogs and yard maintenance instead. As I mentioned, not quite right for my friend and I for this time, but I’d come back if in a bigger group and/or wanted to camp with dogs/children. Lots of places for exploring, the creek is so beautiful.

We had an amazing long weekend. Thea and Gary went above and beyond to make us all feel welcome. A beautiful location with a creek meandering through the property. Thea and Gary made us damper after taking the little ones on a train ride around the grounds which the kids loved. A short run to Maleny or Kenilworth to break up the weekend and resupply, is also really handy. This will be a spot we'll visit many times through the year.

Thea and Garry were great hosts, they personally greeted everyone in our camp and offered help if we needed. Thea and Garry put on a free damper night for the whoever wanted to join. The camp site itself was spacious and facilities clean. The river stream that runs along was perfect to listen to as we fell asleep.

The large open space and the creek running through the property is amazing, campsite are large and generous sized bags of fire can be purcahsed. But what stood out the most is the hospitality its not that often you have both owners come down and great campers at separate times and shake your hand. They generally care about you.

The camping area was spacious, clean and tidy. Gary & Ben cooked damper bread with dates over the campfire. This was very nice. The younger campers under the age of 3 had a train ride on Thomas the Tank Engine. Located in a great spot to drive to Maleny and Kenilworth for day trips.

I loved camping in the tent section, very clean and tidy. Easy directions to get there. The walk on the property was great. The owners cooked some damper on the fireplace, they were friendly and helpful.

Excellent stay at A Place To Call Home. The hosts were super helpful and friendly, the bathrooms were always clean and well stocked, and our site location was neatly tucked in amongst the trees by the creek. Only downside was a few larger groups (which the hosts did contact us to warn us about) but it was quiet after 9pm. Will definitely be back! P.s. the afternoon damper with butter and golden syrup was a complete treat!

The hosts were fantastic, the hosts put on a damper for all on Saturday night and we had a great time. The facilities are clean and well kept, the hosts are so lovely. There is a playground for the kids and the sites are awesome, each with their own firepit and lovely shaded areas. The river is a short walk and it's such a good spot. Highly recommend this place for families and friends

We loved our stay here and highly recommend it to other travellers and those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy quiet time in nature. Gary was a wonderful host and we adored the sound of the creek right next to our camp.

What a gem of a spot! I’ll admit I was skeptical of the consistent 5-star ratings, but after a long weekend here, I’m a total convert. ​Our site was incredibly private, nestled right by the river and surrounded by birdlife. The hosts are truly the heart of the place; they go above and beyond to make the experience special. They offered fresh damper by the fire two nights in a row, and Thea was amazing with the kids, organizing train rides through the park and rubber duck races down the river. ​Between the playground, the sprawling mowed field for bikes and sports, and plenty of space for the furbabies to run wild, it’s a paradise for families. We will definitely be back!

This is a fantastic large rural property with ample space and sites along the Mary river. Every site has something special. The wild life is abounding “kangaroos” and many many colorful birds that I don’t know the name of. Im a little reluctant to say you have to go. But as I’ve already said the are ample sites to spread out on. So I’m saying it you must go!!

We tent camped for our first time in 12 years at A place to call home. Wow, what a great time we had The site was brilliant and right beside a small running creek. We were visited by numerous birds and a small mob of grey kangaroos Gary and his family made us very welcome So if you are after a great place to camp that is scenic, peaceful, with flat camp sites and a fire places and great hosts then this is the place for you

A true hidden gem — we’ll be back! Just returned from a wonderful stay at A Place to Call Home in Conondale and honestly, it lived up to its name. The creeks are absolutely stunning — crystal clear and the perfect place to just sit, relax, and soak it all in. We couldn’t get enough of them. The owner was extremely friendly and welcoming, which really made the whole experience feel special. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a guest, not just a booking. The property is covered in beautiful trees and surrounded by gorgeous nature. There’s a real sense of being away from it all — and the no phone service is a massive bonus. It forces you to actually switch off and enjoy where you are, which is exactly what camping should be about. The toilets were great too, which is always a win when you’re camping! Cleanliness and good facilities make such a difference. Overall, this place ticked every box for us. If you’re looking for a nature escape that genuinely lets you unplug and unwind, look no further. We will 100% be coming back. Highly recommend! 🏕️

Beautiful spot highly recommend, instructions were clear on how to get there was greeted when we turned up and given a full rundown of the place by Thea. Amazing spot and the Credit to Thea the place was as described. We had a private spot at the gum trees with great access to the water and the ability to walk around and explore was great. Saturday afternoon was amazing with some damper being cooked and a warm welcome from the hosts for all to come up have a try of it along with a beer and a chat. looking forward to coming back and bringing along some others we know to your great spot. What a great spot. Thea was a very friendly host and made sure we had a spot that suited our group and was also accommodating to us arriving early. Very peaceful and lush with a beautiful creek to sit by and listen to the running water. Lots of trees and we had a great private spot. Definitely will be back.

We had the best Easter long weekend here. It wasn't too crowded and we felt like we were camping alone in a tranquil rainforest. Water is crystal clear and the property is a slice of paradise. The owner Thea is so welcoming and genuinely wants to see everyone enjoying their stay. One of the best hip camps we've stay at.

We had a fantastic stay at this campsite, just a short drive from Brisbane. The hosts were warm and inviting, which made us feel welcome right away. The site itself was clean and mostly private, perfect for a peaceful getaway. The real highlight, though, was the beautiful rainforest and creek!! falling asleep to the sound of the flowing water was incredibly relaxing and calming. Highly recommend!

We had a great time. The creek is beautiful and teeming with wildlife lots of little shrimp and some very cool native freshwater fish. Campsites are mostly well shaded and cozy. The site we stayed at wasn’t secluded but not too busy great for the kids as they can meet other kids. Thea is absolutely lovely, very friendly and approachable. You can tell they really love to share their beautiful little slice of paradise. We will certainly be back!

Amazing spot. Thea was so welcoming. Very well maintained property with heaps of space for the kids to run around, play games & ride their bikes. The creek was very beautiful also & a great way to cool off. No phone reception is also a bonus to completely switch off for a few days. Will definitely be back 🤩
