Due to new council regulations, we can no longer camp directly near the creek edges as we did before. Our campsites have now been relocated to higher ground, offering beautiful views of the creek. The creek entrances are accessible within 50 to 300 meters, depending on the path you choose. Unplug and unwind at our 22 acre camping paradise nestled amongst the rolling green hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Listen to the babbling water sounds of Scrubby Creek and the Mary River that meandering through the perimeter of the property for over 1 kilometer. Stroll through our mini rainforest, paddle in the creek or have a dip in one of the many rock pools. We will even let you build as many rock towers as you like! Throw an inner tube in the creek and float around while the kids laugh and play all day long. Let the kids dig holes or fossick for the perfect skimming rocks, ride bikes or play endless games on the beautiful landscaped grass. Plenty of trees to put up that hammock or soak in the creek with views overlooking the wilderness. Sit back and gaze at the starlit skies while the kids roast yet another marshmallow on the campfire. Snuggle up during winter and cool down around the rainforest in summer. Abundant wildlife, lots of kangaroos and wallabies, koalas and beautiful birds everywhere. Please be aware that weekends are family times and do get busy with extra people. During the week it is very quiet and you could have the whole place to yourself. Sites are allocated on weekends based on numbers, if you are in caravans or tents and if you are camping with children. We have 12 large grassy sites nestled amongst trees located at the higher part of our property. Each site is large and can allow group bookings. Loads of space for tents, camper trailers, caravans or motorhomes. The camping sites are close together however there is loads of areas to set up along the creek during the day. Pets permitted but must be restrained.Due to new council regulations, we can no longer camp directly near the creek edges as we did before. Our campsites have now been relocated to higher ground, offering beautiful views of the creek. The creek entrances are accessible within 50 to 300 meters, depending on the path you choose. We have 22 acres of natural bushland in the Conondale Valley, between Maleny and Kenilworth; in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Less than an hour to Caloundra and Sunshine Coast beaches. Sites allocated on weekend, public and school holidays. We have endangered wildlife on the property including frogs in the creek. We are very passionate about protecting the habitat, so our property only suits eco-friendly campers who follow leave no trace principles. Sites are allocated by owner based on your group numbers, children, dogs and camp set up. We have 12 camp sites safely on higher ground. Only a couple of sites now back onto the creek. All sites are within a very short walk to the creek. You are welcome to set up on the creekside during the day however camping is only permitted in the designated areas as approved by council. Parts of our property may experience sudden flash flooding as we are in a low area and boardered by two creeks. Upon entering our property, you and your booking companions agree to adhere to all emergency protocols and instructions from our team. If instructed to relocate to higher ground, immediate compliance is essential for the safety of your family and our staff. We have a designated evacuation zone: the Top Paddock Emergency Area, situated by the silver shed at the check-in spot Frequently Asked Questions - Firewood (hardwood) $25 per bag - Mobile Service is not available on the property however Wifi can be purchased from us for $10 per person per stay - Plenty of spots, we only take limited bookings. All within 50-500m to creek entrances (depending on the direction you take) - Campfires permitted - make your own permitted. - Campers must be self-sufficient. We would prefer it if you have your own toilet and shower. This is not a dig a hole and bury facility. We have a back up toilet for you just in case.

Spent an amazing 4 nights at A Place to Call Home. The creek is gorgeous with deep waterholes for swimming. Abundant wildlife - platypus, kangaroos, wallabies, black cockatoos and even an echidna. Thea and Gary are fabulous hosts - friendly and welcoming, and the campground is immaculate. They even put on a damper for guests on Saturday afternoon. A Place to Call Home ticked all our boxes for camping - creek, trees, open fires, dogs, not crowded. Loved it, will definitely return!

How fabulous to have the opportunity to camp at Thea and Gary’s incredible slice of paradise. The property was absolutely spotless and so easy to get around. Private area was so lovely to have with easy access to the creek. The birdlife and wildlife is abundant giving you the opportunity to enjoy their antics. Such a beautiful peaceful place to recharge your soul.

A wonderful place so well looked after and tidy. The owners are incredibly attentive and always willing to help. They offer communal events daily such as damper and Cobb loaves around the communal fire pit! Just a beautiful place! Looking forward to my next visit.

We absolutely loved our stay at A Place to Call Home Conondale. Thea and the team there were so incredible, very friendly, welcoming and made our kids feel right at home. It was beautiful, peaceful and the creek was a big highlight. We can’t wait to come back again!

We had an amazing and relaxing weekend here. Gary assigned us a very nice and secluded camping site where we made a fire, enjoyed the creek, took a few good walks, and spent time with our pets. Thank you very much for your hospitality and for allowing us to spend some time at this wonderful place.

A place to call home is by far one of best places I've ever camped. The place is beautiful with clear water in the river and picturesque surroundings and the hosts Thea and Gary where very welcoming and accommodating. My favourite part was at 5pm when all the campers would meet up around a camp fire and be treated to Gary's great damper as we get to know new people. What a great community they are building and what a great experience we will definitely be back 😀

Beautiful location. Thea and her husband are great hosts. Very communal vibe but can be quiet and private stay if you want. The creek is lovely, the kids spent all day pottering, playing with rocks, as well as trying and failing to catch fish!

We absolutely loved camping at A Place to Call Home. Such a beautiful, peaceful spot with lovely, accommodating hosts. The grounds are very well maintained and the kids were entertained for hours playing in the creek. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will be back!

What a great spot this is! We stayed at Ace's place as a group of 4 vans and had direct access to the creek which was well shaded and clear as! Thea and her family were very welcoming and friendly and even brought my daughter some gingerbread raindeer! There's a playground, a large field with a soccer net and a golf green with a hole as well as lots of different creek entrances, there really is something for everyone here.

I loved everything about my stay. Thea was very hospitable they helped me with a went tent came and checked on me after a storm came through. I miss A Place to Call Home just want to go back.

Arrived and felt very welcome. 🙏 was shown the spots as I had a choice where I could setup The whole property is very beautiful along the creek with many camping options. Spent my Christmas with my kids at the creek was a lovely day. Most beautiful spot and tranquil with the kookaburra’s being most entertaining being harassed by the smaller nesting birds. Hosts are very friendly and hospitable. Thank you for allowing me to stay on your beautiful property I felt very blessed during my stay.

From the moment we arrived at A Place To Call Home and met Thea we knew this place was pretty special. Thea could not be more helpful and took the time to help us find the perfect site for us. Which it definitely was! This would be up there being one of our favourite camping spots. It was just so beautiful, relaxing and calming. The serenity was amazing. We were happy to sit in the creek on the chairs provided by Thea, relax and enjoy the arvo with a drink and watch the day pass by and the wildlife too! Highly recommend A Place To Call Home!

Thea is very friendly and kind. The whole area looks beautiful. Unfortunately I was placed in the garden next to the owners house adjacent to the road. The places are really small, very close to the other guests, and not at all as shown on the photos and description. I specifically asked for a quiet and remote spot and what I got was not at all as expected. I recommend the description should be adjusted since this situation with the council has been like this for several years. It feels misleading to be honest.

I loved A Place to call Home. We were welcomed and shown to our site. The property has a lovely stream going through it easily accessed by the sites. Unfortunately camping isn’t yet allowed close to the stream, but the large cleared land was a joy to walk around with my dog and the stream perfect to cool off in. I’d definitely recommend this spot.

What a cracking campsite! Our spot was private, peaceful and near the creek where we cooled off with a tasty bevvy while our dog lived his best life playing in the water. Thea, Gary and the kids were awesome hosts - friendly and making sure we had everything we needed with their daily check-ins. Highly recommend.
