Previously known as "Mountain View Lake holiday park". Relax in this peaceful, family friendly campground, nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and nearby Mount Elliot. Enjoy the 70 Acres of shady grounds with plenty of wildlife, including pretty faced wallabies and abundant birdlife. Located conveniently 45kms south of Townsville and Magnetic Island ferry terminal,45km north of Ayr and 8km north of Giru. The 20-acre dam is low at the moment (August '26) and grass is dry. We are dependent on rain for filling the dam. OK for kayaking or SUP. Kayaks x3 on bank for public use. Plenty of weed for the birds! On arrival, powered sites, please phone our on-site caretaker Dylan, and he can assist you to find a spot that suits you and your group. Unpowered sites can choose anywhere suitable for them. We do have internet reception. Occasionally reception can be weak depending on what the network is doing. Generally, it is not a problem. Bring Mosquito/sandfly spray or coils, especially if camping by the lake. Campfires allowed. Wood for sale, $15 cash per milk crate, from caretaker Dylan. Please return crates to camp kitchen for re-filling. Fire rings are available at the sites. Please leave them where they are as moving them is destroying the surrounding areas. Thankyou. Pet friendly as long as you respect our rules. Due to our wildlife all dogs must be on a lead or tethered by a rope and under owners' control at all times. Dog poo must be picked up. No one wants to step in your dog's poo. Separate men and women's toilets and hot showers. Camp kitchen with shared fridges, gas rings x2, large gas BBQ, toaster, kettle, microwave and picnic tables. BYO cooking gear, plates, cups, utensils. Washing up sinks x2 -cold water only. Laundry tubs have hot water that can be used in kitchen sink. Coin washing machines available. $5 a wash ($1- and $2-coins, BYO coins)

Awesome spot, the amenities are great and the hot showers are awesome! Dylan was great assisting us with firewood too. We have recently stayed here 3 times and will be back for sure.

Nice wide open space for tents, not crowded. Camp kitchen v basic but functional, similarly with the amenities that were usually clean but sometimes a bit stuffy and messy when busy. Key challenge was the hardness of the dry ground - getting pegs in without them bending was a major challenge. Bone dry and very stony ground

It’s such a beautiful spot to camp. The tree lined road next to the lake is gorgeous. Supplied toilets and showers were a great bonus. Someone did run there generator all night but thats camping. We’ll definitely be back and we’ll tell our friends.

We love this picturesque and very spacious campsite on the lake. Our 3rd visit, stayed 7days. The on site manager, Dylan is very friendly and helpful, the facilities kept very clean. Large green powered sites and a huge choice of undesignated unpowered sites, in sun or shade. Had a jabiru visit for a few hours, plus resident lace monitor, stone curlews, a beautiful bower bird nest. Mosquitoes- the usual number. Highly recommend.

Everything we needed for an overnight stop with young kids! Huge grassy open space, clean amenities and hot showers. Far enough off the road to feel safe and eliminate the noise but close enough that it was really convenient.

It was easy to find, it is a large area, toilets and showers were good, with hit water. It was nice to see some chickens about. There were shaded and also open spaces.
