Heaps of space. Was a great stay for our family short drive into Townsville to check out the city
This is a lovely bush camp and huge amount of space for each site. You have your own fireplace and can buy a crate of wood for $11. There are plenty of trees, but also ample solar. There's a great camp kitchen and games area and even showers (cold water only). There's even a dump point! It's only 20 minutes from the centre of Townsville and the ferry to Magnetic Island.
The Block was an absolute gem of a find. This was a last minute booking after a long day’s drive from Julia Creek and we’re so glad we stopped.
The camp sites were spacious and immaculate. We’re hoping to stop here again on our way back south.

Great private camping just out of Townsville , the bird and wildlife were amazing , and the grounds were spotless. The host came and saw us and were the most fantastic people will be staying there again on the way back thru .

I great site to spend a few days away from the rush of our Big Lap.
David was there to meet and direct us to a fantastic site on the top of the hill.
We stayed for two nights while exploring Townsville. We loved the place! No real reason but all 4 of us thought it was great. The kids liked to play dart, we peacefully read - enough privacy and a lot of lovely birds singing.

We love staying at The Block. So peaceful with so much room. It’s always a pleasure to be greeted at the gate by either David or Janet, makes us feel almost like we’re a part of the family.

5 out of 5 stars. It's clear a lot of time and effort has been put into this camp. Would stay again if passing through for sure. Hard to beat the sunsets through the gum trees.
Super spacious gated campground, with fire pit at each site. Shady or open depending what you need. Dump point onsite. Janet & David were lovely hosts. Birds & wildlife all around. Close drive to Townsville.

David gave us a warm welcome at the gate. The camp at The Block is fantastic. Every site has its own fire pit, a handy dump point, and cold showers if needed we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Plenty of room on site and owners are very friendly. Set up for campfires.
Return customer to The Block! I love the layout and simplicity off this hipcamp. But it's so much more. Close to Townsville if you need something and a great takeoff spot to go inland to explore. David popped over to say hi again and gave us some awesome recommendations for this trip as he's a traveller too. That's the best part. They know what makes a great camp and deliver just that!!

Beautiful area! Wide open spaces - great for solar but also plenty of trees for shade. Each space is private so you're not to close to other campers. David was super lovely & greeted us on arrival. Noticed the whole time we were there that as soon as you arrive at the gate, the hosts are down to greet you & let you know where everything is. Fire pits were great & set up to use for cooking too. Great value for money fire wood sold on site. Dump point definitely an added bonus. Will be back to stay again on our way back down. Overall, great location at a great price!

I thought The Block was great for what I needed. A good base the explore Townsville and also be able to kick back and relax.

Spacious sites.Not jammed together.Every site has a firepit.Shower setup is great but only cold water which would be great in Summer.10 minute drive to the shops.David and Janet great hosts.Recommend highly
Beautiful quiet bushland spot! Janet & David have gone above to care for their land & guests. Safety considerations of solar lights around fire pits, extra gravel in the creek crossings so you don’t bottom out, even have an outdoor gym & smoker! The communal area is an awesome setup and the outside shower isn’t that cold on the hot days. Absolutely loved the peace and quiet and being able to sleep without cars rushing by, just wish I had of booked a longer stay. Thank you for having us

As a fully self contained site it meets all of our requirements and allows easy and direct to the city of Townsville without having to be in it

Huge ipen space with designated campsites around fireplaces. Outdoor shower and camp kitchen for using own gear. Bring your toilet though. Very friendly staff.
