Nothing fancy, just a safe and secure, friendly, and quiet place to stay for 1 night through to a couple of weeks. Set on 20 acres and based in Bluewater, just north of Townsville, we are semi-screened from the road and have easy RV or Campervan access assuming you don't mind using a simple gate. We cater to fully Self Contained guests only but we do have some basic services available depending on what spots are already taken, but generally access to:
- Water
- Power (at some sites only via leads at an additional charge)
- Common fire pit area
- Recyclable disposal only (no general rubbish or black water disposal - suggest empty before arrival at the free dump point only 1.5km away
- Pets on leashes allowed at some sites and may depend on breed/ other guests at the time to avoid conflict)
- There is a beach and boat ramp just a couple of minutes down the end of the road, and only 15 minutes or so to a variety of shops including Groceries, Bunnings, Supercheap Auto, and BCF
- You are welcome to pat the horses and say g'day to Angus, our humongous cow, all under the watchful remaining eye of Milo the Pug, the true Lord of our Manor!!
Bookings are essential so you don't miss out, but please feel free to call or email us for any further information, and we will be happy to help. Once booked please call [xxxxxxxx] when your 5 or 10 minutes away so we can greet and guide you in. If we are unable to take your call don't worry about leaving a message - please just text and we'll come back to you as fast as possible.

Situated front and centre on the property, this approx 25 x 12m semi secluded and flat site is bordered by small trees providing slight screening from the road, and larger trees on the other, Depending on time of year and how you set up you can still expect to have sun to get your charge on for at least half the day, but if you need a bit of extra juice we can get you some power via leads for an additional fee should you require.
This site is on its own so has reasonable privacy from others but is still only a short walk to 'The Ring of Fire' if you'd like to do some socialising with other Campers or to just enjoy the fire pit. Crumpy's Place offers a welcoming atmosphere with friendly hosts and plenty of space to relax. Visitors appreciate the peaceful setting, perfect for both short stops and longer stays. Many reviews highlight the joy of interacting with the farm animals and the convenience of being close to Townsville. The flat, grassy sites make it easy for campers to set up, and there's a communal fire pit for evening gatherings.
Stayed here for two nights. Hosts are so friendly and it was great to sit round the fire and have a chat. Also very peaceful and quiet. Definitely recommend
We had a relaxing 2 days at Toni and Andrews place. We loved the chat around the fire.
We were very happy to park our van In a safe and secure spot while we explored the sites.
Easy access and level spots.
Camp is in the front yard very close to the hosts house, and all their stuff.
They have a lot of things going on and on arrival we felt like we were a big inconvenience. As a family we felt we were walking on eggshells most of our stay.
If your a retired couple maybe give it a go, if your a family with kids go to the free camp down the road.
Great spot for a couple nights while we attended an event in Townsville. Very friendly hosts. Safe and secure yard. Quiet. We’ll be back for sure. Thanks Toni and Andrew.
We enjoyed our night here. Heaps of space and a potable water point to top up your tanks.
A short drive into Bowen to explore. A nice 5km loop walk to be had.
Lawn could do with a water, very dry and not green but not a big deal.
Hosts very friendly and we appreciated the little 'pack' you gave us on Bowen and surrounding areas.
Convenient location just off highway.
Warm and welcoming hosts.
Travellers with kids would enjoy this as lots for them to do including large area to run around.
Great spot and owners are very welcoming, kids had fun with the playground, the owners kids and all the farm animals on site. Water and power available
Easy directions and communication, lovely flat open spaces. Not crowded and plenty of room for rigs of all sizes. How’s came and introduced themselves which was great too!
We had a great stay at Crumpys place. Andrew and Toni were very friendly and accomodating. The property was peaceful and well looked after. The animals were a hit for our kids. They had a ball
Perfectly positioned for an overnight stop on the way Nth. Clean and flat, easy to park up. We arrived later in the evening and left quite early so weren’t there long. Some train noise once during the night but not big deal.
We really enjoyed this camp, Owners are very welcoming and greet you when arrive. Lot's of animals including dogs, birds, geese, horses and cow to give a pat. Nice grassy site, very peaceful.
Thank you Toni and Andrew for hosting us at your lovely Hipcamp. We enjoyed our stay, especially waking up with the beautiful sounds of the animals and wild birds. We hope to pass by again.
We had a wonderful stay at Toni and Andrew’s place. It is a beautiful spot with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Our kids had an absolute blast playing hide and seek with their children, which was a real highlight for them. They also loved all the animals around the property.
Another special highlight was the stargazing — it is such a beautiful place to look up at the night sky.
We really enjoyed our time here and would happily recommend it to others.
