Hold it Flats is a 120 acre property that borders the beautiful O'Connell River that has water all year round. Take a walk around the property to check out some of the creatures that have been built out of scrap metal and bush bars that have been built all around the property. There is nice shady trees, green grass and flat camping sites right beside the river with hot showers and flushing toilets. There is plenty of room and some great tracks for the kids and the big kids to ride their push bikes on. The swimming hole is about 2 meters deep and has big shady trees on the edge. There is also enough room for kids to bring their kayaks and have a paddle along the river. We have some hiking tracks up around the hills of our property that have amazing views of the area. All campsites can be provided with their own fire pit. You just pick your spot and we will bring a portable fire pit to you. Fire wood can be purchased at the property. All rubbish must be taken with you, there are no rubbish bins provided.

Located conveniently 45kms south of Townsville and Magnetic Island ferry terminal,45km north of Ayr and 8km north of Giru. The 20-acre dam is full at the moment (February /March '26) . Great for kayaking or SUP. Still has some weed for the birds! On arrival, powered sites, please phone our on-site caretaker Dylan 0488 611 706, and he can assist you to find a spot that suits you and your group. Unpowered sites can choose anywhere suitable for them. We do have internet reception. Occasionally reception can be weak depending on what the network is doing. Generally, it is not a problem. Bring Mosquito/sandfly spray especially if camping by the lake. Campfires allowed. Wood for sale, $15 cash per milk crate, from caretaker Dylan. Please return crates to camp kitchen for re-filling. Welcome to 'Bares Hideaway', a 43 acre property nestled away from prying eyes in a secluded valley along the Liverpool Ranges in Grandchester. We are a short 1 hr drive from Brisbane and Toowoomba surrounded by acres of bushland. We are a 10 minute drive from Rosewood and Laidley where you will find cafes, supermarkets, fuel and a variety of other things to enjoy. Our lovely campground will accommodate swags, tents, campers, caravans and motorhomes. We provide an extensive camping ground which ensures that you will have a large amount of space to set up comfortably. Flushing toilets and hot showers are provided. We offer you the choice of a standard enclosed private shower or the fun of open air showers. We also have ice for sale. We are happy for you to come and camp on your own or book the entire place if you have an event, large groups are welcome. There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions with marquees available if required. Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed. Please note that there is no potable water on site. You must bring your own DRINKING water. During extreme weather events the property can be affected, so if rain is forecast, please call before heading out. Things to do and see: The Grandchester hotel is a short 10min walk away and offers cold drinks, great meals and friendly country hospitality. It is 10km to the upgraded Fitzroy River/Thompson Point boat ramp and pontoon. Enjoy some excellent fishing and crabbing on the river, bird watching and bush walking up the many hills. Only 1/2 hr. drive to the beaches (Emu Park and Yeppoon), National Parks (Mt Etna Caves, Mt Archer Baga, Limestone Creek), and Rockhampton (Kershaw Gardens and Rockhampton Free Zoo). We provide 10 spacious campsites next to Blackburn Dam that has two rock jetties to allow fishing for Barra, Spangled Perch, Eeltailed Catfish and other native fish so bring your canoes or kayaks. Campers have access to a modern amenities block which has flushing toilets and hot showers. There is a powered camp kitchen for communal use. Big skies that are great for stargazing and abundant birdlife in a peaceful setting provide a backdrop for your next getaway. Cattle graze the property with the occasional donkey guarding the herd as we don't kill our dingoes. There is prolific bird life and 7 types of wallabies and kangaroos as well as other wildlife in several ecosystems. The property is located about 3 hours from Cairns or 1 hour from Cooktown on a sealed road. Once you turn off the highway, access is 4.5kms on a gravel road. The town of Lakeland is just 8kms away with a Hotel, Roadhouse, Coffee shop and 2 well stocked local fresh produce stalls. We are within an hour of Cooktown and Laura if you would like to do a day trip to the historic towns.

Dunblane is a wool sheep grazing property located just off the Landsborough (Matilda) Highway 8km west of Barcaldine. We welcome camping guests and we're happy to share our place with others. Only one booking allowed at each site so you will have the site to yourself, although you are able to book so friends can also stay with you. Pull in, light a fire, watch for falling stars, walk the dog and let the kids explore. Check the sunsets that never fail. Amenities depend on the site booked - check the options listed. This can take between 1-2 hours to get to the top Mount Elliot and flinders peak are in national Park area. Which is a 5 k drive from our farm Parking area in the national park ,there are walking trails from the carpark area. Good for bird watchers and those who like to get outdoors and do some hiking or moutain climbing . How to get to us? We have two ways in . Option 1: Via Flagstone onto Bushman Drive – then into Wyatt road follow to the end and turn right onto undullah road follow for 5 ks . we approximately 14 km from the Flagstone Shopping Centre. Please note: 10 km of this route is gravel road. 4x4 vehicle access is recommended. Option 2: From the Centenary Freeway roundabout, at ripley head 21 km along Ripley Road, which continues and changes name to Undullah Road. This route is 4x4 access is recommended with some narrow bends – please drive to conditions. We do have 2 wheel drives make the journey ! ⸻ Important Notes: • Each site allows ONE vehicle + ONE caravan or camper van or roof top,swags ,tent If you’re visiting with friends or as a group, please make Booking per site we have areas for groups that want to be away from the main open area if you would like this please contact us so We can facilitate private areas for groups. •we have toilet and shower facilities available near the camp kitchen up on top of the hill area and rubbish bin provided on site. Great site - Dean & Chris were awesome. Perfect for campervans / caravans (def not for tents), by a nice creek. Excellent bathrooms, good laundry, BBQs for cooking and tables. Tubs provided for fire pits - bring fire lighters if you want to use them. Overall it felt safe and comfortable.

Dean the host was so welcoming! This is a great location with a great history and very cool to say we’ve stayed at the old Hartleys Croc site with a croc even in the creek on the site. The only downfall was that we weren’t allowed to park our camper trailer on the grass so it was separate to our tent area. This meant we had to walk between our camper trailer kitchen and swag. Otherwise, great overnight stay.

Great safe and quiet spot, clean amenities and Dean is a great host, he will show you to your spot and get you settled in. Great beach nearby with a good fishing spot where the creek runs into the sea. Fires are allowed and power and water hook ups. We will stay again.
