Hold it Flats is a 120 acre property that borders the beautiful O'Connell River that has water all year round. Take a walk around the property to check out some of the creatures that have been built out of scrap metal and bush bars that have been built all around the property.
There is nice shady trees, green grass and flat camping sites right beside the river with hot showers and flushing toilets. There is plenty of room and some great tracks for the kids and the big kids to ride their push bikes on. The swimming hole is about 2 meters deep and has big shady trees on the edge. There is also enough room for kids to bring their kayaks and have a paddle along the river.
We have some hiking tracks up around the hills of our property that have amazing views of the area.
All campsites can be provided with their own fire pit. You just pick your spot and we will bring a portable fire pit to you. Fire wood can be purchased at the property. All rubbish must be taken with you, there are no rubbish bins provided.

Relax in this peaceful, family friendly campground, nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and nearby Mount Elliot. Enjoy the 70 Acres of shady grounds with plenty of wildlife, including pretty faced wallabies and abundant birdlife.
Located conveniently 45kms south of Townsville and Magnetic Island ferry terminal,45km north of Ayr and 8km north of Giru.
The 20-acre dam is very low at the moment (September, October '26) and grass is dry. We are dependent on rain for filling the dam. At the moment it is too low for kayaking or SUP. Kayaks x3 on bank for public use. Plenty of weed for the birds!
On arrival, phone our on-site caretaker Danni, and she can assist you to find a spot that suits you and your group.
We do have internet reception. Occasionally reception can be weak depending on what the network is doing. Generally, it is not a problem.
Bring Mosquito/sandfly spray or coils, especially if camping by the lake.
Campfires allowed. Wood for sale, $15 cash per milk crate, from caretaker. Please return crates to camp kitchen for re-filling.
Fire rings are available at the sites. Please leave them where they are as moving them is destroying the surrounding areas. Thankyou.

It is a large block and there are campsites far enough away that you can enjoy the peace and quiet. All our sites are unpowered.
Our guests are required to be self contained (have own shower & toilet). Our pub toilets are open 24 hours as a courtesy. We also have a basic/spartan shower/toilet block for emergencies/back up.
Pets are permitted but must be kept on a leash at all times n campground and at the pub. This is to protect the wildlife and surrounding environment. To note during our large events (ie: Sublime Fest) pets are not allowed due to numbers on site.
Our property features a Koala habitat and a creek where we occasionally spot platypus. There are a range of great nearby activities, farms, orchards, walks etc.

The campsites are kept as natural as possible, offering a genuine paddock camping experience rather than manicured lawns. Guests have access to flushing toilets, hot showers for a small gold coin donation, and potable drinking water. These amenities are located a short walk from the camping area due to the risk of flooding.
Firewood and ice are available for purchase on-site. You may bring your own raised fire pit or use an existing fire pit where available. Whether you are looking for a relaxing riverside getaway, a peaceful fishing spot, or a quiet place to reconnect with nature, you will find plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the tranquillity.

The Magic Pond is a private property, not a commercial business. The land is suitable for self-sufficient campers only. THERE ARE NO AMENITIES, YOU NEED TO BRING OR HIRE YOUR OWN TOILET, WITHOUT ONE YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE. No dumping of waste is permitted on the property. The closest dump point is Caboolture Showgrounds (140 Beerburrum Road, Caboolture 4510), which is open 24/7 and approximately 15 km from The Magic Pond.

We provide an extensive camping ground which ensures that you will have a large amount of space to set up comfortably. Flushing toilets and hot showers are provided.
We are happy for you to come and camp on your own or book the entire place if you have an event, large groups are welcome. There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions (pls note we have a 9pm noise down curfew. We are not asking you to stop enjoying yourself, just have respect for other campers). Please contact us prior to your event to discuss availability.
Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property.
Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own fully enclosed off the ground fire bin. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed.

Nestled along the banks of a pristine section of the Yabba Creek, there are large swimming holes for all water activities and shallow rapids great for the kids to play in.
The Creek is home to an array of wildlife. Platypus are seen daily, plenty of bird life and a variety of fish and turtles. Please be aware that there is a fishing ban on the Yabba Creek between the 1st of August and the 31st October every year.
The backdrop is a large steep mountain that comes to the waters edge, which is where we created the name of our property "Yabba Ridge".
We have a variety of animals which are behind high fences, and are very unique and spectacular to look at especially at feeding time where you can get a good look at them up close.
With only 4 sites, we offer a spacious camping area, spread out all to enjoy the views of the mountain and creek.

Fishing closures… Mary river cod breeding season 1st August - 31st October. No fishing from Yabba Creek during this time.
Unfazed by weather – Access to the farm and campsites remains reliable even with rain or minor flooding. Or book one of our sheltered sites ‘Mountain View’ or ‘Jacks Shack’ if booking in advance during unpredictable weather seasons.

We love dogs—but for the safety of our farm animals (including chickens, horses, and a rather regal turkey), dogs must be leashed at all times!! No dogs with chasing or hunting instincts, please.

4. Access permitted in daylight hours only. If arriving after sunset, you must advise 24 hours prior. Driving after dark any time without owner-assistance is NOT permitted due to steep terrain, no lighting and black cattle. Call Owner if ETA is after sunset. During winter sunset is close to 5pm.
5. If towing a trailer you MUST arrive in daylight hours due to the steep access.
6. Firewood not to be transported to Riverdell whilst biosecurity risk of Fire Ant spread is current.
Riverdell is 166 acres located on the eastern side of the Blackall Range extending down to the Mooloolah River headwaters. Escape off grid to enjoy the peace and quiet, watch the cattle grazing in the paddocks, spot the native birdlife or cuddle up by the fire in your own secluded paradise.
Sunrises are spectacular while sunsets by open campfire are also a highlight of the Riverdell experience. Take a short walk up the creek branching west of the Mooloolah River to see some scenic rockpools and waterfalls in the cool of the rainforest canopy. Walking boots/shoes are highly recommended.
There is plenty to do and see in the area including exploring nearby Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, Gardeners Falls, Kondalilla National Park, Australia Zoo, indulge in a tasting at the Barrel at Clouds Vineyard opposite the front gate, stroll through Maleny Botanic Gardens & Bird World or take a short drive to some of Australia’s most beautiful beaches.
Access during daylight hours via 4WD ONLY with AT or MT off-road Tyres, RT Tyres are not permitted due to the steepness of the tracks. Off-road camper trailers are suitable (max weight 1500kg and max length 5m restrictions apply). There are Portaloos located at or near all campsites.
Caravans or motor homes are not permitted due to the steep terrain. Riverdell is dog friendly, off leash if trained, and recommend tick treatment before arrival. For safety, no arrivals after dark unless arranged prior.

Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat is a family-owned and operated outdoor education and recreation retreat, located on the shores of beautiful Lake Moogerah in the heart of the Scenic Rim, South East Queensland.
Conveniently located just 2km from the Cunningham Highway, our purpose-built retreat is set within a peaceful bushland environment, surrounded by the spectacular natural scenery of the Scenic Rim.
We welcome a variety of groups, including schools, church groups, community organisations, families, youth groups and outdoor adventure enthusiasts seeking opportunities to learn, explore, connect with nature and enjoy a broad range of outdoor experiences.
Our retreat offers a range of accommodation facilities to support participation in outdoor education, recreational and nature-based programmes. These include basic bush camping and group camping areas, bunk-style cabins and a fully self-contained cottage.
The property also features communal dining and gathering spaces, outdoor activity areas and facilities suited to both small and larger groups, with an approved site capacity of up to 100 people across the retreat.

There is no shortage of opportunities to experience the natural environment at Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat.
Groups can explore the lake through fishing, canoeing, kayaking and other suitable water-based activities, develop practical outdoor living skills, enjoy bushwalking and nature discovery, or simply reconnect with the outdoors through engaging educational and recreational experiences.
Lake Moogerah is well known for its Australian Bass and Yellowbelly fishing, while our onsite bushwalk leads towards Striker Point and the gorge waterfall, offering spectacular scenery along the way.
For those wanting to further explore the region, Spicers Gap National Park is only a short drive away and offers scenic walking tracks and breathtaking views over the Fassifern Valley and surrounding landscapes.
While we do not currently have a boat ramp onsite, groups bringing their own boats can launch at the nearby public boat ramp and utilise the sheltered bay in front of the retreat.
Important Information About Our Retreat
Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat is not a tourist park or standalone transit campground.
Accommodation is available in connection with participation in educational, recreational or nature-based programmes and activities offered at our retreat, rather than as unrestricted drive-in accommodation.
All groups wishing to stay at the retreat are required to participate in an educational or recreational programme, with their chosen activities confirmed as part of the booking process and introduced by our onsite caretaker upon arrival.
Our programmes cater for all ages, abilities and experience levels, ranging from simple, self-guided outdoor activities for families and small groups through to fully guided, structured and tailored experiences.
Activities may include fishing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, bushwalking, stargazing, archery, bush cooking, outdoor survival skills, wildlife observation, campcraft and other nature-based learning and recreational experiences.
Our complimentary Introduction to Outdoor Education & Recreation programme is particularly suited to families, beginners and small groups. It encourages participants to explore, learn and connect with nature through a selection of practical outdoor activities undertaken at their own pace.
Many of our introductory and self-guided programmes are available at no additional cost when participants provide their own equipment, while equipment hire and more structured or guided experiences may attract additional fees.
Programmes can be tailored to suit the interests, abilities and desired outcomes of each group, whether you're planning a school camp, family gathering or reunion, youth programme, workplace team-building retreat, Scouts or Guides activity, sporting group retreat or other organised group experience.
We can cater for groups of varying sizes, up to our approved site capacity of 100 people.

Back again. After Staying at Dead Tree Alley, we said we'd be back. This time we stayed at Sunset Ridge, and it lived up to its name. The views were beautiful. Each meal we chose a different view to take in. We enjoyed the privacy, the local wildlife and of course all the animals that were up for scratches. The ease, views, animals and general atmosphere bring us back. It's also quite handy that despite feeling disconnected, local shops are only 8mins away in case you forget something.. ..like toilet paper😅

Such an incredible spot for a family getaway, and so close to the Gold Coast! The entire property is beautifully maintained, and the host family are absolutely lovely. The animals and the opportunity for the kids to interact with them were definitely a highlight of our stay. Having access to a shower and toilet was an added bonus. We had such a great time and will definitely be back!

We had 2 fantastic nights camping on Mountain View site, especially our own hot shower! Easy access to Yabba creek for a paddle and a swim. Lots of room to enjoy the Yabba Creek sights and sounds. The facilities are great and well maintained, just the place to escape to.
Our hosts are awesome, made us feel very welcome with plenty of tips on how to get the best out of our stay - will definitely be coming back :)

But haven't rain for a while, when we went to 2 creeks, just still water, and the 1 of the creek was narrow, that was the only part that we felt disappointed, but it wasn't host's fault, just the weather. Overall, we had good time.

Gorgeous little spot perfect for a getaway. It’s right next to the creek where the kayaks are located and pretty well shaded in the afternoon. The grass was freshly cut upon our arrival and is well maintained. Is definitely worth booking during the camping off season not during school holidays when there are more bookings above the hill. Extremely well kept amenities which are always clean with hot water and fully stocked. Gorgeous animals which can you can feed with the animal food available for purchase at the campsite.
