Looking to escape? Welcome to Kenilworth Camping—our little piece of paradise. Flanked by more than 5 km of direct Mary River frontage, we are excited to share our third-generation family farm with you. Unwind, relax, and leave your worries at the gate as you explore the spacious campground along the farm boundary. Let the water wash over you, light a campfire, bring your dogs along, and make lasting memories with your family. As your hosts, we are proud to share “Adadale,” our family farm of more than 65 years, with you. We hope you enjoy your stay. While camping by the river, you can spend your days swimming, fishing, kayaking, or simply relaxing by the water or beneath the trees. Keep an eye out early in the morning for one of the property’s most special residents—the elusive platypus. The Mary River is also home to the protected Mary River lungfish, a remarkable species that has existed for millions of years and can be found in the deep rock pools. The campsites are kept as natural as possible, offering a genuine paddock camping experience rather than manicured lawns. Guests have access to flushing toilets, hot showers for a small gold coin donation, and potable drinking water. These amenities are located a short walk from the camping area due to the risk of flooding. Firewood and ice are available for purchase on-site. You may bring your own raised fire pit or use an existing fire pit where available. Whether you are looking for a relaxing riverside getaway, a peaceful fishing spot, or a quiet place to reconnect with nature, you will find plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the tranquillity. Please note that this is a working farm, so you may see cattle moving through the property during your stay. The campground is located in a flood-risk area, and campers will be directed to suitable camping areas away from the riverbank depending on current conditions.

Choose your own campsite with access to 4km of privately owned Mary River frontage. Suitable for everything from tents and camper trailers to caravans, motorhomes and buses, the sites are accessible by 2WD in normal conditions. Site features: Suitable for tents, caravans, camper trailers, motorhomes and buses. 2WD accessible. Potable drinking water available. Flush toilets and hot showers (gold coin donation) a short walk from camp. BYO raised fire pit or use an existing fire pit where available. Firewood and ice available to purchase. To ensure everyone enjoys the peaceful surroundings: Quiet time from 9:00 pm. No parties. Generators are permitted during designated hours only. No P-plate drivers permitted on the property. Flexible check-in and check-out times are available.

The river is great and in the morning you can see some platypus playing. Portaloos are placed in twos throughout the track. Showers are at the entrance costing a buck for a couple minutes. You need to get there early to get a good spot, it’s a busy site

The land was very comfortable, maintained grass, flowing creek with easy access and navigation. Stunning bird life and bright stars at night. Portable toilets. Nice dirt road. The hosts were very friendly. We needed more fire wood and they dropped some to us in a buggy. Our dog loved it! And the hosts were lovely. Highly recommended.

What an incredible experience we had here was a incredible camping spot and the lady at the office named Kim was such an awesome hostess she was welcoming very kind and communication with her was awesome and we will be for sure returning and come consistently here as we can get enough

False advertising and overcrowding

Kenilworth camp grounds advertise 40 sites on 570 acres. On our first hipcamp trip there were an estimated 300 campers on the river front land only, it being less than 50 acres (estimate). This clearly created a false and misleading impression of the experience. We were not advised on the over booking and not given the opportunity to reschedule or go elsewhere. 40 sites over 570 acres leads to the impression of space and privacy. The reality couldn't have been further from the truth. This resulted in a disappointing firat experience in crowded noisy conditions (including harsh interactions and an instance where I was attacked by an unrestrained dog, while its owners laughed and drank beer). If the property descriptions aren't checked by Hipcamp and can't be relied on, we will seek alternate guidance. If Hipcamp provided some indication of heavy or over booking at particular sites or times, then it would allow its clients to seek alternate sites and/or spead the bookings out over the affected areas, resulting in a better client experience. As it stands, we won't return to Kenilworth Campgrounds on the basis that their Hipcamp description is plainly false.

My partner and I stayed at Kenilworth Camping for four nights and had the most scenic, peaceful time. The grounds were beautifully maintained with no rubbish in sight. There was never a line for the shower cubicles, and the toilets were clean and well maintained the entire stay. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. A special highlight was the cows who were so friendly and always coming up to the gate for pats! 🐄 Super dog friendly and such a relaxing place to unwind. We would definitely come back again.

Fabulous place to camp. Beautiful scenery, peaceful, lovely to see the cows roaming around. A great spot to get away. Staff are friendly and very helpful. We have camped twice within a month, and we will be going back again for sure.

From the second I booked, I had nothing but kindness from the staff as I had to change my reservation twice due to family needs. I finally arrived to the most beautifully kept slice of paradise! I enjoyed my time there so much I even extended my booking by another night! We will definitley be back and cannot wait until our next trip! Thank you again!
