The property is largely flat with a hill on the Eastern side and a ridgeline at the very back of the property. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Maria and Neil are truly extraordinary human beings — warm, welcoming, and incredibly considerate. The kitchen, bathroom, and toilet are immaculately clean. We’ve used compostable toilets many times before, but this is the only place we’ve experienced where it was completely odour-free and spotless! The site itself is spacious and wonderfully quiet, surrounded by trees. The natural white noise of cicadas making the whole stay relaxing and peaceful. 25 mins drive to Noosa, yet feels like a world away. We wished we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended.

A pleasant overnight stop while making our way south to Brisbane. Our stopover was on a Monday with very few people on site, so plenty of places to choose from for us and our van. A 4WD to access the secluded sites would be recommended as it might be tricky getting out if you had any rain as the trek out is relatively steep, grassy but steep. We camped next to the dam and went to sleep with the sound of frogs chatting which is quite soothing and made for a good night. The camp ground is far enough off the “Bruce Hwy” which made for a quiet night and no street lighting is a bonus as well. Highly recommend this place and we will be back again.

Weekend Trip to Habitat Noosa Everglades EcoCamp

This was such a great experience. We originally booked over the weekend of the QLD cyclone Alfred, and were only able to return in December, but the whole process was seamless. We booked on Hipcamp, arrived, checked in, and headed straight to the Mills Point camping area. The grounds were beautifully maintained, with manicured lawns, clean spaces, and everyone being respectful and keeping to themselves. It was a little more congested than I expected, but still a lovely, safe space for the kids. We went exploring through Pomona and Eumundi, wandered the markets, grabbed a coffee, picked up some biltong, and enjoyed the local atmosphere before heading back to spend the whole afternoon in the water. The scenery was gorgeous — ocean views, fresh air, kangaroos hopping by, plus a restaurant, a vibey bar, and even gelato on site. Overall, a wonderful stay and a place we’d happily return

We loved our camp at sandy creek! Warren met us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the camp grounds and advised the best place to set up, due to being very hot. Loved all the windlife; kangaroos, Goannas, birds. Lake was shallow and a bit warm but still stunning. A big storm rolled through and everyone took refuge in the Bistro, was thankful to have laundry facilities to dry out wet bedding as we were camping. Thanks to the friendly staff there too.
