TerraLyra is a quiet bush camping and retreat property located in Gunalda, approximately 25 minutes north of Gympie, set on 55 acres of Fraser Coast hinterland and just 5 km off the Bruce Highway, with good access for all rigs. Surrounded by natural forest and open land, our property offers spacious, uncrowded camping with stunning views across a spring-fed lake. Facilities include: Powered and unpowered sites Fully equipped kitchen Hot shower and toilets Large covered deck with tables and chairs BBQ facilities Large group sites available Guests can enjoy swimming, complimentary kayaks, and walks through forested areas and around the lake and smaller dam. Campfires are permitted when conditions allow, with firewood available on the property.
Well-behaved dogs welcome. Conveniently located just minutes to local pubs, Gunalda IGA and bakery, and near the gateway to K’gari (Fraser Island), approx. 50 minutes to Rainbow Beach, yet far enough away for quiet nights and excellent stargazing. We enjoyed our tent camping. It was a peaceful stay with lots of birdlife to observe and time to relax. Lots of bird walks through grass, bush and around the dam. We walked the dog everyday around the property doing about a 2klm loop. The owner Heather was lovely and we appreciated that she checked in with us about our dog so she coordinated letting her dogs out for a run at a time that suited us all, very thoughtful. The kayaks were fun and unfortunately the rain stopped us using them more. The camp kitchen had a fridge/freezer, an oven with cook tops and a hot sink with plenty of pots, pans, cups, bowls, cutlery to use. The shower was hot and toilets were clean.

We loved camping at 3 Trees and Heather our host gave us a warm welcome. We truly loved our stay there. Having a camp spot where we can take our Dogs was great. We loved it so much that we will out it on our list to come back.

What an amazing property and hosts. Heather and Louise greeted us when we arrived late on Friday night, they explained the property and directed us to our campsite. The campsites were perfect we had a secluded spot with campers either side of us but we could barely tell they were even there. The property is stunning with a huge dam to kayak (Heather and Louise provide kayaks to use free with a coin donation) , we walked the property and it is just stunning. The facilities are top notch and they even had the option to purchase their delicious barrister made coffees and homemade banana bread. These were both delicious, huge shout out to Louise’s’ grandmas recipe of the banana bread(she would’ve been proud) . You have done her proud with your baking skills. We stayed for 4 nights over the Easter weekend and it was busy with over 140 people but it didn’t feel like there was that many people , with how the property was set up and spread out a special mention needs to go out to Heather and Louise for an outstanding job with this Hipcamp. If your are ever up this way I cannot recommend this place highly enough , go visit Terra Lyra you will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to return here for more adventures and fun times at this amazing Hipcamp 5 STARS

Sweeping views is a great space for a group camp. Reasonably flat and grassy suitable for bigger rigs. A short walk to the camp kitchen and facilities if required and the dam. If you're a caffeine fiend, then order a coffee and enjoy from the deck. This was our second time to TerraLyra in 4 months and highly recommend a visit. Will definitely be a go to for a quick getaway.

Peaceful Campsite
Heather was a delightful host👌 We appreciate her accepting our last minute extras booking. The coffee was so good, certified great. The entire place was amazing, beautiful scenery and total zen feeling. We had so fun kayaking on the lake, enjoyed cooking our steam fish on the firepit and the marshmallow ofcouse. Highly recommended and we almost can't wait to go back there.

Such a peaceful property away from the over crowding of some camp grounds. Awesome camp kitchen with hot water, fridge/freezer, standard oven, bbq, dishes, cutlery and cleaning equipment, Toilet and shower was a great bonus. The hosts Heather and Louise were so accommodating and sold barrista coffee from the veranda every morning. I choose not to use my powered site as they are quite close together so set up on the open field.

The Inner Glade
An incredible stay at Terra Lyra. We stayed at the Inner Glade campsite which was perfect and secluded for myself, my partner and our dog. Heather and Lou keep the property incredibly well maintained and amenities are easily accessible and clean. The dam is beautiful and great for a swim or a kayak. Our dog loved the Baby Dam also. A morning coffee up on the deck from barista Heather is an extra special treat and is a wonderful way to start the morning. Heather and Lou are so warm and welcoming and have a lovely way of making you feel really looked after.

Good family fun. We booked the secluded spot which was a walk away from amenities and the dam but worked perfectly for us. 100% recommend bringing your fire pit and foraging for wood (bring something to chop it with). If you’re looking for somewhere to camp where you can quite literally do nothing, unwind and look at nature - book here :).

This location was so beautiful. Many amazing places to choose from before setting up camp. We all loved it here! The hosts were so lovely and served up delicious coffee and banana bread in the mornings. Would 110% recommend coming here and we will be back <3

Stayed for 2 nights……it rained, it was incredibly windy but it was such a relaxing escape. Weather wasn’t the best for that weekend but made the most of our time there. I would and am staying there again. LOVED IT. Heather was more than than helpful and a good host. A+

Beautiful, well maintained property with rustic amenities. Heather, the host, came out to greet us and show us around the property. Hot shower, flushing toilet and camp kitchen are available a short distance from most campsites. There are also 2 composting toilets located in orher areas. Sites are well spaced and grassy. Powered sites are a bit cosy, but not different than a very popular caravan park at peak times. Powered sites are level and pads are gravel. There is a fresh water dam you can swim in and there are kayaks available to use. Which we used. An undercover deck area is available for use that overlooks the dam. Lovely spot for afternoon drinks. The property only had 2 groups when we arrived Friday. This increased to 5 groups on Saturday. Groups were well spaced, with off grid campers able to select their own site. Total relaxation to be had. Was very peaceful. Even with kids there, it was tranquil. Would highly recommend this property.

Lake Side Camping
Perfect location for a family camping trip with young kids and a dog. Peaceful location on a beautiful property with great bush walks and large dam for the kids to swim and kayak in (kayaks supplied). Heather was lovely and available and helpful.

A wonderful spot. Heather was very welcoming. The facilities were clean and tidy. Great to have access to a hot shower if needed.

Sweeping Views in Peaceful Retreat
Lots of space and views over a large established dam with wildlife. The hosts are great. A large selection of camping sites of different perspectives.

Sweeping Views in Peaceful Retreat
A pleasant overnight stop while making our way south to Brisbane. Our stopover was on a Monday with very few people on site, so plenty of places to choose from for us and our van. A 4WD to access the secluded sites would be recommended as it might be tricky getting out if you had any rain as the trek out is relatively steep, grassy but steep. We camped next to the dam and went to sleep with the sound of frogs chatting which is quite soothing and made for a good night. The camp ground is far enough off the “Bruce Hwy” which made for a quiet night and no street lighting is a bonus as well. Highly recommend this place and we will be back again.

Lake Side Camping
My man and I loved tent camping along the water. The sunset views and starry nights were to die for. So peaceful and the ladies who run the stay were absolutely wonderful. While packing up my car wouldn't start so they came down and fixed my car. Dogs were so cute and my puppy had an amazing time swimming in the dam. As a young couple with a dog, this place was perfect.
