What an amazing place to stop and unwind. Large spaces with fire pits. Very clean and well maintained. David met us and showed us around the sites so we could chose what would be best for us as we where travelling in a group of three big vans. Highly recommended stopping at the Block

The Block
Such a quiet and beautiful camp. The owners were lovely and the wood is great value so highly reccomend grabbing some. We parked up the top and had amazing views of the mountains in the distance.
Highly recommended staying here, we will definitely be back.

The perfect spot to set up if you are exploring the Townsville region. Not too far out of town, but far enough to ensure to have your own quiet and safe space. Expect to see wallabies and kangaroos too. Janet and David are the perfect hosts. The dump point here is an added bonus. And yes, we are staying again when we head south again shortly.

We were greeted by Janet & David at the front gate who were wonderfully welcoming & friendly. The Block is conveniently located close enough to Townsville but far enough out of town to feel like you were in the middle of nowhere! The sites were very spacious, quiet and each had its own fire pit supplied. We also ordered some firewood which was delivered to our site on arrival. Whether you are looking for a stopover on your way through, needed a beautiful spot with access to Townsville, or looking for a beautiful, relaxing country getaway, we would highly recommend The Block. We will definitely stay here again!

The Block is a really nice camp, really well set out, with each site having a light and a fire pit. The camp kitchen is well set out, additionally having a whole range of games to choose between, darts, botchie, board games etc.
Each site is large and well set out.
David really takes pride in his property, all areas around the fire pits are raked clean.
We were very pleased with our stay and would have no dramas recommending to family and friends.

We loved our stay at the Block. It was a beautiful space, with a lovely communal area. The hosts were amazing and so kind. I’d recommend to anyone looking for a place to keep there van whilst exploring Townsville and the surrounding area.

Photos really don’t do The Block justice. This is a special place with a fantastic atmosphere and some of the most welcoming hosts you could hope to meet. Jane and David have created a beautiful, well-maintained campground that feels safe, relaxing and family-friendly.
The campsites are thoughtfully marked out with their own fire pits and solar powered lights, and there is plenty of firewood readily available. The stunning ghost gums add to the unique character of the property, and the facilities are excellent, including a dump point, kitchen facilities, and even games like darts and Jenga to enjoy.
Our kids had an absolute ball and we felt completely safe throughout our stay. A short drive into Townsville for shops, castle hill, the strand, magnetic island, etc. Everything is well looked after and it’s clear Jane and David take great pride in their camp.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend The Block to anyone looking for a welcoming and memorable camping experience. 🌟🏕️🔥

Very warm welcome from David, the camping area was open and easy to get around . Loved the firepits at each camp-site and the camp kitchen had some great touches. The home made sultana bread we received from the hosts was a big hit . Loved our stay

The Block is a fabulous place to stay. Plenty of space to set up for a night or a week. 30 mins drive to The Strand. Fire pits are freely available. We planned on staying 2 nights, but stayed 6. Sunsets are beautiful and peaceful nights. Janet and David are wonderful hosts. Highly recommend!

This is a remarkable site with a perfect vista. The owners, David and Janet, are caravanners themselves, and it truly shows—they have delivered everything needed to make a stay transition from good to excellent. Excellent Facilities: Immaculate dump point, shower, darts, kitchen, and even a small gym. Thoughtful Layout: Well-maintained, freshly cut grass. The firepits are spaced generously apart on flat ground. Perfect Location: A quiet nature spot, yet only 25 minutes into town. The absolute highlight is the owners themselves. David and Janet are incredibly hard-working and thoughtful. They always make time for a friendly chat, making you feel instantly welcome. We have found our paradise and wouldn't stay anywhere else now. Love, love, love it! Thank you, David and Janet, for your hard work and thoughtfulness. Highly recommended!

We only stayed for one night due to commitments but we could easily have stayed many more. The serene paddock with ready to go fire pits, wallabies and a horse made the sunset even more beautiful.

The Block
Absolutely amazing, so peaceful and quiet out there. It's beautifully maintained and far enough out of town there's no city noise but close enough you can duck into Townsville for supplies. What started out as a nightmare move to Townsville turned into a week of lazy days walking my dog, my kitty making friends with kangaroos and nightly serenades by the local dogs/dingoes. I'll definitely be back when I need a reset from the stress of Uni life.

The Block
It is well laid out, tidy & so pretty. There is plenty of space & having a dump point is a plus. The cold shower is a bonus. The camp kitchen is well set put & some nice touches.

The Block is a wonderful Hipcamp just outside Townsville on the south side. Depending on your time of year it may be a little on the dry side or lush and green. No matter when it is, it’s absolutely stunning with the gums and the camp setup. Amazingly there’s a dump point too. We will be making this one a regular stop when we’re travelling.

Lovely place close to Townsville, very spacious! The camp kitchen is really cool with all the games and things, great new shower and even dump point.
Stayed there while attending an event at the stadium in town, only took 20 mins to get there!
Would definitely stay again!
