Jo's road house is just up the road and has all the essentials food wise with great pizzas, and fuel. Next to Jo's is an RACQ centre and mechanics. Purchased in 1988 as a block of Bush, the majority of clearing was initially done with a small Massey Ferguson Te20 a long length of chain a shovel and chainsaw.Built originally with nothing more than the chainsaw, shovel, hammer and nails the log cabin that I still live in has undergone a few changes over the years but we have tried to keep it looking the same on the outside made mostly from large hardwood posts and paperbark slabs and half rounds for walls concrete floor with sunken lounge room. The hand built rock chimney is the feature piece of the front of the cabin so be sure to check it out and get a few pics.

Purchased in 1988 as a block of Bush, the majority of clearing was initially done with a small Massey Ferguson Te20 a long length of chain a shovel and chainsaw.Built originally with nothing more than the chainsaw, shovel, hammer and nails the log cabin that I still live in has undergone a few changes over the years but we have tried to keep it looking the same on the outside made mostly from large hardwood posts and paperbark slabs and half rounds for walls concrete floor with sunken lounge room. Purchased in 1988 as a block of Bush, the majority of clearing was initially done with a small Massey Ferguson Te20 a long length of chain a shovel and chainsaw.Built originally with nothing more than the chainsaw, shovel, hammer and nails the log cabin that I still live in has undergone a few changes over the years but we have tried to keep it looking the same on the outside made mostly from large hardwood posts and paperbark slabs and half rounds for walls concrete floor with sunken lounge room. The land is beautiful, big open field with lots of places to camp. There is a small like you can fish in or sit out in a kayak and relax. We got lucky and had the whole area to ourselves but if you enjoy being around people and camp when others are there it seems like it’d be a lot of fun and not cramped at all. It was easy to park our caravan and hook up to power on a lush grassy site. The view was glimpses of the the Kolan river surrounded by a variety of trees and natural bush. The amenities were very private separate rooms. The toilets were well done and very clean. The showers worked great! We were able to kayak from an area below the campsites. We had the place to ourselves and it was so quiet and relaxing.

We found this little gem of a place. Viet Jess which is on Rosedale Road Avondale QLD Jess and staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed 3 nights in this most relaxing camp site Hanoi 2 right in front of the dam. There are free kayaks with life jackets supplied. You can fish and swim in the dam. There is a play ground for kids and an animal farm with chooks, ducks, geese, pigs and goats. There is also a huge veggie garden which you can help yourself to beautiful vegetables. Thank you to Jess and the boys for the iced coffee and tea along with the melon soup that they made on our last night, absolutely delicious. There are no toilet or showers however we were self contained in our caravan. Everyone do yourself a favour and come and support Jess at her little hobby farm which has only been open about 3 months. Plus we had a great meal good prices at the Avondale Tavern which is only 3 ks from Viet Jess hobby farm .

A real gem! Quiet and clean, and the facilities and price can’t be beat! The birds and wildlife up there were incredible! It also got nice and cool in the evening, which was a huge relief after sleeping near Cairns for a couple weeks. A little tip- there *is* plenty of space…. But if you want flat and shady ground (near the back or side), and don’t want to cram in next to someone—come early. If that’s not possible though, and you can stay another night, set up bare bones the first nightand wait until the next morning. A ton of people left pretty early and I could move to a prime location if I wanted. Les was also great. Very helpful and friendly.

We had a very relaxing stay at Kolan River Retreat, from the time we arrived right through to unfortunately having to leave this spot. We met Peter at the gate and he gave us all the info we needed for our stay, Peter is a gentleman and keeps his property very well maintained. We selected our campsite and set up for 6 nights on a beautiful shaded grassy spot next to the river, we loved that we were able to wonder around our site bare feet on the grass. Being there through the week it felt as though we had the place to ourselves. The weather was quite warm while we were there but, there was a beautiful breeze blowing through that made our stay even more pleasant. Did I mention the big night sky…beautiful!

Camp Kuna exceeded my expectations in every way. As a local, I'm always searching for quality camping spots, and this one definitely earned a place on my return list. The facilities were impressively well-maintained and spotlessly clean. The kitchen came equipped with all the essentials you'd need, which made meal prep a breeze. I particularly loved the fire pits – they were thoughtfully designed and added the perfect ambiance to our evenings. The campground offers plenty of shady spots, which is a huge plus for staying comfortable during the day. The location is ideal, with just a short, easy walk down to the river. It's close enough to be convenient but far enough to feel like you're truly escaping into nature. Even though I live nearby, I'd absolutely camp here again. It's the perfect balance of comfort and outdoor experience. Highly recommended for both locals looking for a quick getaway and travelers passing through the area.

Situated 45 minutes drive from Bundaberg, our 320 acre property has a small goat farm and 270 acres of bushland to explore. Take a walk through the trails or follow along the dry creek bed (seasonal). There are plenty of kangaroo, bandicoots, goannas, water dragons, koalas, and varieties of bird life to catch a glimpse of. We back on to Littabella national park where there is more to discover. There are 4WD tracks through Littabella National Park, take a half day adventure through the track to Rosedale pub for lunch and come home, making a complete circle. The Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail Incorporated is facilitating the development of the disused rail corridor from Taragoola (near Gladstone, Central Queensland), through the Boyne Valley, on to Monto, Eidsvold, Mundubbera and south through to Gayndah in the Burnett Valley. This property covers those campsites in or adjacent to the Boyne Valley. The corridor is an inland link between Gladstone and Gayndah, which has great natural scenery, wildlife and historical structures with small country towns spread along its length. There are several campsites (shown here on Hipcamps), on former railway sidings along the trail and a range of other accommodation types, some community NFP operated, which we encourage you to support. A former railway siding with the closest access point to the six Dawes Range Tunnels on the rail trail. From the tunnels, there are excellent views across to Kroombit Tops, and historical signage has been installed along the trail. The siding also contains the foundations of a former railway turntable. Kalpowar State Forest Park and campground are located several kilometres to the east, while the township of Kalpowar lies about the same distance in the opposite direction.

You will see kangaroos and lots of bird life to watch. Our region is well known for surfing, however Agnes Water and 1770 are also home to calm inlets tailor-made for stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. BYO paddleboard or explore the coastline and waterways by kayak. You can even paddle past Captain Cook’s landing point and on towards the headland to watch the sun set over the ocean (a rare sight on Australia’s East coast). Follow the trail or take your mountain bike along boardwalks and across stepping stones on the 1.5 hr, 3km Red Rock Trail. You can start your adventure at the end of Springs Beach and head south along rocky trails peppered with pandanus palms all the way to the far end of Red Rock Beach. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. There is access to drinking water and a picnic table for meals. Plenty of space for bushwalking or sit back around camp fire or just read books. There are some great mountain views to be seen while walking around and site seeing, and Eurimbula National Park is close by. For boating and fishing enthusiasts, the beach is just a few mins drive away. We're located close to Agnes Water for all your shopping and supply needs. Pets welcome.
