Host Shelly Marshall says:
Originally a Boy Scout Camp, Chris Marshall bought the abandoned camp and invited his family to Alaska to develop it. Since Chris is well-known for making wood stove cookers and huge burner units for remote villages, the family wanted to name the campground after his Wood Stove Company--thus Alaskan Stoves. You will delight in the quasi exhibition of wood stoves located in the middle of the campground. And you will defiantly want to see Sam McGee's Wood Stove Cabin (named after Robert Service's famous poem "The Cremation of Sam McGee"). It's a unique campground, it's friendly and family run, and it's pure Alaskan old fashioned camping with old fashioned prices. Because of the harsh winters we only operate seasonally from May 15th to September 15th.
