We booked Brendan’s camp last minute without reading much, so our expectations were modest... but wow, it turned out to be the best campsite we’ve ever been to. The tent has a real bed with sheets and pillows, and we brought our own blankets which made it perfect. They even left us water, and there’s an outdoor shower, a toilet, and a trunk at the end of the bed filled with cooking essentials and other thoughtful items.
It’s ideal for anyone who wants a quick escape without the hassle of packing tents and gear... more of a glamping experience than rough camping. The ponds are huge and beautiful; you can make a fire right by the water and enjoy the sunset surrounded by deer and little woodland animals. It’s incredibly peaceful, perfect for families or a romantic weekend with minimal effort.
The camp is tucked behind the main house, so you feel completely secluded. It’s only a short 5-minute walk to the car, and Brendan can even give you a ride in a buggy if you’re carrying a lot! though honestly, you won’t need much.
My husband and I are used to more rugged camping, and this was such a refreshing change. Everything feels thoughtfully put together with care and love. Brendan was super accommodating with our late check-in, and the firewood bundle lasted us the whole weekend!
We’re already dreaming of coming back in the summer for a longer stay. Absolutely the best site on Hipcamp, by far.

This campsite was absolutely fantastic in every way. The space is gorgeous, the amenities provided are top-notch, the host was incredibly welcoming and accommodating; we had an excellent five day stay here. As my first experience using Hipcamp, it was as close to perfect as reality can get. If you’re looking for a calm, private site with awesome views look no further. Still pretty close to necessities if you want to go out, but you probably won’t want to.

We loved our experience camping on Brendan’s land! We had our dog, some friends and a few kids with us and it was the perfect way to spend our holiday weekend. The kids got to canoe on the pond which is right behind the tent area (canoe provided). Our dog got to roam freely in the woods and we caught a few fish in the pond too. We never even left the site to go explore town. Brendan is very responsive and brought us more firewood when we ran out and provided a lot of necessities such as water, trash can, camp stove, utensils and a shower bag. We ended up over packing and hardly needed to reach into our own camp gear.
The provided tent and the bed is also amazing! Sheets, pillows and blankets provided. Great glamping experience!
Our family and friends had an amazing time and we will definitely be returning.

We truly loved our experience at this property. It was peaceful and private. Brendan was always attentive to making sure we were comfortable. My children loved it so much that we're planning to return soon.

Can't recommend this spot enough, super hidden gem and great host. Only recommendation is to bring your own soap and hand sanitizer for the bathroom. 10/10, definitely coming back!

Brendan‘s little hideaway was absolutely fabulous. I have camped in a lot of unique places, but this was just beautiful. Very secluded and very private. Stocked with everything you could possibly need to go camping. I brought all my camping gear and the only thing I needed was my coffee pot. My dog was in heaven, exploring the area so much space to roam. Brendan was very helpful and very kind. I cannot recommend his place enough. I already tried to reserve for Labor Day weekend, but it’s already booked. I will definitely be back. Five stars

This is an absolutely beautiful camping spot. The owner has a great piece of land and we had the place to ourselves. The tent was cozy. It has lights, a power box, a bed with sheets and pillows, a small fan, a footlocker with cards, utensils, pots and pans, and a first aid kit. The site has a fire ring, a table, and a stove to cook on. Going down to the waterfront, there was a canoe, a kayak, a rowboat, and another fire ring. Paddling around the pond on the canoe was great, we were able to see fish and other wildlife down there. Brendan is an excellent guy who drove us and our gear to the site and was available to help if needed. I strongly recommend anyone to experience this site! We had a lovely time here.

This is a great spot - we spent only two nights here but left wanting more. It’s very private, we didn’t see anyone else while we were there. The pond is picturesque and draws tons of wildlife. We saw eagles, turtles, frogs, tons of deer, and even one black bear on the far end (though we had no issues with any bears coming to camp.) The campsite was very well stocked with water, linens, cooking equipment, and extra lights, which were really useful to hang up in the HUGE tent, which was amazing. Our host was responsive, happy to help us bring our gear in, and quick to ask if there was anything we needed.
All in all, an 11/10 experience, we’re really looking forward to going back.

My boyfriend and I didn't want to leave! Everything was perfect - we had the comforts of a bed outfitted with sheets, blankets, and pillows combined with being situated in a beautiful spot in the woods. The site feels very remote, with no other homes in view we were surrounded by the sounds of nature. Brendan greeted us upon arrival, carted us and our things down to the site, and provided recommendations of things we were interested in. Plenty of drinking water, cookware, a stove with propane, and lights were thoughtfully provided. We ended up spending more time at the campsite than anticipated because it was so nice and plan to return.

The Dam House at Beaver Pound is a hidden gem on Hipcamp that promises an unforgettable outdoor experience. Our group had the privilege of being the first to rent this stunning campsite, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Set amidst heavily wooded areas, the campsite is a nature lover’s paradise. The nearby pond offers breathtaking views during the day and a night, creating a tranquil ambiance that’s hard to find elsewhere.
Wildlife enthusiasts will be thrilled to spot hawks soaring overhead and beavers busily working around the pond. On top of that, the site’s convenient location near a charming town and picturesque lake means you’ll have plenty of amenities within easy reach.
One of the standout features of our stay was the warm hospitality of the site manager, Brendan. His vast knowledge of the area and its points of interest made our trip all the more enriching. We opted to rent the overland trailer, and it proved to be a game-changer. The hot shower, electric fridge, propane gas stove, and electric battery added a level of convenience that’s rare in most camping experiences.
A quick tip for future visitors: make sure everyone in your group is familiar with using a composting toilet with a separett. Additionally, the optional kayaks and pond-side fire pit are fantastic additions that you shouldn’t miss out on.
In conclusion, our stay at The Dam House at Beaver Pound was nothing short of amazing. We’re already planning our next visit and can’t wait to return to this slice
