Capa Campground

Paul was a great host. He gave us a tour of his homestead and taught us a lot about the area. Amenities were good with fire pits, designated tent spots, bathrooms and a kitchen. I would definitely come here again!

This is a beautiful, quiet, and comfortable campsite! We were especially impressed by the shared kitchen - as it was quite cold while we were there! The kitchen is lovely, with a wood cookstove. We loved staying with Paul and Carol, who are very interesting and friendly.

Amazing place to be!

The campground was in a beautiful corner of the earth and owned by a kind, friendly couple. The campsite felt private and had it all; a bench, water, a fire pit and a tent platform. We enjoyed cooking in the communal kitchen with a wood stove. I highly recommend!

Paul’s place is well designed, with some privacy between each camp site. The tent platforms and picnic tables were great! The communal kitchen and outhouse were well maintained and clean. And the chickens were a delight!

We enjoyed our campsite and the communal spaces provided by the host. Our nights were quiet, but we still enjoyed the hoot of an occasional owl. A mist-covered mountain is a great view with a morning coffee. The property location is perfect for enjoying nearby hiking trails.

A very peaceful site and I like that there’s only a handful of sites, a community kitchen and the host was super friendly, greeted upon arrival and left us alone (unless we needed something) which was awesome. Lots of nature and fun listening to the owls all night!

This was the perfect campground to be able to enjoy Olympic! We felt right at home here and loved the additional amenities. Having access to wifi and potable water were "musts" for this trip and both were readily available. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night. Would absolutely come here and stay again!

While we didn’t stay at this site because our travel plans changed, Paul was incredibly communicative and we are definitely looking forward to staying there in the future. We did eventually drive by Amanda Park and can say that it is very close to all the nature that the southeast part of the Olympic national rainforest offers

We had a great time camping at Paul's campground. Our site was one of six located at the back of the property in a small grove of alder trees. We had the largest site with two big 10' x 10' tent pads. Our site was well kept and pleasant. We were provided with filtered water, an outhouse with running water and a composting toilet, and cart to transport our gear from the car to the site. The camp was quiet at night, and had easy access to Lake Quinault Lodge, as well as other nearby attractions around the Quinault area.

We enjoyed the adventure of our family's first fully off-grid experience at Paul's place. The composting toilet was a slight challenge for our young kids, but Paul made up for it with his garden tour and the opportunity to pick fresh berries, feed his hens, and forage. I, personally, enjoyed the community kitchen the most. The wood-burning stove took some time to get used to, but again, it added to the adventure of our stay and cooked some tasty food including cheeseburgers and birthday pancakes.

Paul’s space was so great! When we checked in the horse flies were so bad but it worked out because the location of this place was fantastic and we just spent more time at Lake Quinault until twilight was over. Once we got back, Paul had showed us around and there was even a shared cabin to wash dishes, and charge electronics, etc. I would highly recommend staying here and you cannot beat the location! Literally 7-8 minutes from Lake Quinault!

This is one of the nicest campsites I’ve ever stayed at, and the eggs were quite delicious too! Paul is an excellent host, and they’ve thought of all the nice touches around the campground to make it a comfortable and private getaway. Lake Quinault is nearby and an excellent place to go for a float on a hot day.

We loved tent camping here! The site was nice and clean, the bathroom with the compost toilet was clean and didn’t have too much of a smell, and the picnic table was a really convenient amenity. The garden was really nice as well! Paul was very friendly and we appreciated him telling us about some of the local spots. It is a bit mosquito-y in the area so bring some bug repellent!

The host was very lovely and polite. The spot was gorgeous and remote. There was wifi and a lack of signal with phone connection: some spots it came in. The property was well maintained and great for tent and car camping. For RVs there is mixed feelings with it. If you want a remote location that is quiet but has no hookups then this is great for you. If you want electricity, good phone connection, and running water then no, at least for long-term camping: over 2 nights. With the RVs there is a lack of hookups and dump stations in the area if you want to make it a longer stay: they did have a toilet. This is more of an adult adventure who wants to be a little off the grid. I would not really recommend for a family and kids as a lack of things can make for a more stressful time. All in all I would go back and would like to be more prepared for a setup like this. The host was great and was not responsible for us being under prepared. Also get the eggs they were great.

We had a great time camping here - our campsite was tucked away in the trees and had everything we needed. The hosts were very welcoming, showing us around the amazing vegetable garden and it was great getting fresh eggs from the chickens!

Great little spot for camp tenting

Paul was a very gracious host and when we arrived, gave us a nice tour of the area and the gardens and gave our 5 y.o. daughter raspberries and wild strawberries. She also loved feeding the chickens (which are fenced off) with our scraps. There's a nice cooking/eating area, although you should bring your own stove & fuel, and a composting toilet. Paul had just mowed the camping area so the grass was very green and even, and a beautiful line of alder trees added to the view. The evenings are quiet, there was one other very nice couple who were headed to the Enchanted Valley next day for backpacking. Overall a great spot for tent camping with a lot of character.
