Weekend Trip to Secluded Hillside Camp

An absolute gem of a stay! The canvas tent was nestled in a private area within the hills, surrounded by wildflowers. The tent itself is very nice and has a super comfortable bed. We stayed warm even when the temperatures dropped down to the 30s. I can tell Kellie has put a lot of thought and effort to make a stunning and comfortable "glamping" experience. We were so grateful for the opportunity to enjoy an outdoor stay on her beautiful property.

Beautiful property and easy access to site. Roads are gravel and very well maintained. Water is fantastic and convenient location at all the sites. So quiet with lots of beautiful bird songs. Saw baby ducks, great cranes and several other birds at the pond, so peaceful. Looking forward to our next visit.

What a great private site! The creek is peaceful to listen to. Andrew has firewood available, a great food storage container, wagons for carrying gear to the site. He met us on arrival and walked us to site answering questions. Would highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Secluded Hillside Camp

I visited on May 2nd. The wildflower bloom was in full swing, and the place just looked awesome. From any of the 3 campsites, you don't see the others, so it was pretty private. At the same time, it does not feel very isolated. So, a perfect balance. The night sky indeed was very clear. Due to absence of big trees, the view all around was unobstructed after about 20-30 degrees. So, a PERFECT place for stargazing and astrophotography. The new outhouse certainly helps. I will certainly keep coming back here. Thanks to the host for sharing this little piece of heaven with us.

1 night at Valhalla Tree Farm

A relaxing retreat in the forest, I took my pup here for our first overnight trip together. She loved exploring all the different ecosystems here: pond, stream, outcropping and lots of woods. The cabin is rustic but solid, I loved relaxing on the deck listening to the sound of the stream. Will definitely be returning soon.

2 nights at Crescent Beach & RV

Everything about the campground was amazing! I arrived later into the night after closing but the host Heather kept me updated on the checkin process. I picked site 64 which gave an absolutely beautiful view of the water from my tent, but the wind did give a little bit of a headache while setting up and breaking down camp. The showers were a big plus though! Absolutely would stay again.

1 night at Dawleys SolDuc River Campground

We were so comfy we stayed two nights! It was a very pleasant stay. And camping in late April, there weren’t many other campers nearby. The sites are pretty close together but it felt secluded enough for what we needed.

Weekend Trip to Valhalla Tree Farm

This campsite is one of the hidden gems of Washington. The campsite is large and beautiful with everything you could need while camping already set up for you. The outhouse is new and clean, the firepit well kept, and a permanent table with a well crafted shelter. Outside of the campsite itself the land has many beautiful trails and little hideaway spots to relax at and read or do some birding. This is our second time here and we defined plan to come back soon.

Weekend Trip to Shangri La Push

We had a great long weekend at Shangri La Push in our camper. Dale is fantastic and is one of the original HipCamp hosts. Each RV site has power, water and even WiFi with good bandwidth. We loved our time here and it’s just a few miles from amazing hikes down to 1st, 2nd and 3rd beaches.

Weekend Trip to Dawleys SolDuc River Campground

This is such a beautiful spot right outside of the Olympic national forest. We enjoyed tent camping in spot 9, which was so easily accessible! It’s a smaller site but was perfect for two people. I just loved listening to the river flow, and it’s so close to the river that you don’t really need a river view site to enjoy it.

My kid loved this campsite. It is gated and felt safe with wonder around with my kid even it feels like in a mountain. We brought wakietakie for my kid (there is cellphine signal) and made the lil cliff behind the camp site as his castle for the weekend. You can see the poind from there and it wad pretty. The water inside the campsite made thinga a lot easy. We heard owls and some critters. Outhosue was basic but didn't have smell.

I loved that it was only 20 min from Niscually entrance of Mount Rainer. The campground is in the forest. I was worried about “the train” but it’s so cute everyone comes out and takes photos of it has it goes by. The campground also has little sculpture gems my favorite was the raccoon.

Weekend Trip to Wild WA Coast Lookout ($75 - $125)

Campsite #5 (4 people) (2 tents): 1000% worth it, we were able to fit our party just fine. We had 2 large 10x10ish tents and had plenty of room around us. Tent site, picnic table, and fire pit all have beautiful views of the coast. We heard a great horned owl both nights but had no midnight visitors so that was good. The campsite is off the path to the beach which sounds like traffic, but with the little sites available it was truly unnoticeable and only a couple happy walkers. Don’t park infront of the pathway park off to the side. Short walk to the site is just downhill around the bend. You will walk up that to get to your running water/bathroom/super sick awesome outdoor shower. I can’t stress this enough about the shower, it will be top 10 in your life. The bathroom has motion sensor lighting, is bright, clean, and warm. Continuing down to the beach there are many powwow spots for your party and drift tree trucks taller than anyone. Truly beautiful spot and I can’t thank the owner enough for having up!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW: We are a real working farm, not like a romanticized IG version of a farm. There are tractors running, sprayers making applications, farm animals loudly enjoying life, day customers picking fruit, and farmers about early in the morning. With that being said, we understand that experience may not be to everyone's liking. Be aware that if you do decide to camp here be ready for a real farm adventure! Another little tidbit: to grow food, we try to maximize the amount of sun it receives- SHADE IS VERY LIMITED. ALL CAMPSITES ARE U-PICK, there are no designated spots. One campsite is a beach on the North Fork Stilly, it is shaded most of the time, the sun lovers can paddle with their kayak or wade across to sunbath on an island across the river. tent campers can locate their car or truck on dike and move their supplies on to camping area.. trucks with campers can set up right on dike over looking the stilly. Rigs can set up in the field by the dike!! the outhouse is back for the season!!! The second campsite is on 4 acres you will have to yourself by a creek; Rhodes River Ranch Restaurant is walking distance away to go enjoy dinner; the Whitehorse trail for biking or walking is only a mile away; Enjoy the view of Whitehorse and three fingers mountain. Lake Cavanaugh is nearby, and regional activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking, , paddling, wind sports, and off-roading. The Arboretum at Bear Canyon West

This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site available Memorial Day to Labor Day. Imagine the friendliness of staying at a distant cousin's organic farm, with the facilities of a top-notch campsite. Only regret was that we were crashing there quickly, and weren't able to stay longer and relax on-site. FIRE BAN IN EFFECT ALL SUMMER - mid to late June, until rain starts again. Bring an alternate source for cooking, ambiance, and heat. Welcome to Dean’s! Eight minutes off Highway 18 lies 11 acres of mostly undeveloped land. Dean's is a beautiful, bare-bones place to rest between national parks, before or after crossing the US / CA border, or to set up base camp to explore Seattle / Tacoma. Our main driveway is CLOSED this year for repairs. We have alternate arrival instructions for you after you book. These instructions add about 7 minutes (totaling 8 minutes) from Highway 18 to the campground. Our location is convenient. We are just minutes from Auburn city limits. Road noise, planes, Pacific Raceways, and freight trains are audible here even if muffled by the trees. Our distant neighbors occasionally indulge in target shooting. This doesn't last long. Please call us immediately with any concerns. We have a brand new neighborhood in construction on one of our property lines. Heavy machinery is in use around 8 am and usually finished by dinner time. In order to provide safety and peace, hosts live just outside the campground and closely manage happenings. All our sites have 2-4 persons occupancy in hopes of deterring parties. Our quiet hours are 8pm-8am so we can rest up for the next day’s adventures. We ban fires during the peak of summer to avoid the issue of wildfires entirely. Propane stoves are welcome. We do not have a check in cut-off time tho reservations do need to be made before midnight. We have zero tolerance for hateful, abusive, or discriminatory behavior toward people, belongings, and wildlife. With that being said, the 40+ year old trees and distance between the campsites provides space for you to bring and create your own vibes. Hosts should only approach you with safety or quiet hour concerns. They are available 24 / 7 for any questions or requests you may have. The property has a 2000 feet of grass runway with an airplane hangar, so you could fly it if you have a STOHL airplane. The irrigation pond/pond yard area is currently available for camping. Many wineries, brewies and outdoor activities available in the area. Children can help feed or water the pigs and perhaps the chickens. Be aware though when piglets are around at times they are very small and are amazing escaped artists so do not keep food out unless you want to try and pet one they are friendly. The closest town, Stevenson, Washington is home to shops, local restaurants, & access to the Columbia River.
