Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. With 16 acres of beautiful, private woods and breathtaking views of Mt. Index, this is a wonderful getaway to kick back and relax after your day of adventures, or just to escape the city rush. The campsites are at the bottom of a long logging road so an SUV or AWD vehicle are preferable , especially during the wetter seasons. When the property was logged approximately 100 years ago they scooped out gravel from the river to make their roads in the area thus creating the back eddy pool along the beach. A rather peaceful setting, including the rushing sound of the river and the occasional whistle of a train. You will feel refreshed and rejuvenated after you stay at The Landing. Pets are welcome, there are outhouses at each campsite. Campfires are allowed (when burn bans are not in place).

The landing was an incredible place to stay and im so thankful for the opportunity to spend time there. Waking up to the sound of the river and the view of Mt Index was unbeatable. The site was well maintained and each site even had its own (clean) out house. We were able to walk up to Coffee Chalet which was such a special little place and the owners were very kind. I would Def recommend The landing when exploring the area! We plan to stay again and hike to lake serene.

Outstanding site. Clean. Well maintained. Breathtaking view of the mountains directly across the river. Tons of room for larger groups using 2-3 tents. I just went with my son for a quick boys night. He loved it. I loved it. Plan on bringing the full entourage of me, my wife, and our 8 kids this summer. Great, great site.

Campsite 2 ( Raven's Roost )

This is the second time we’ve stayed here and we love it. Campsite 2 is a more private space at the end and it’s great for our dogs. The giant picnic table is amazing for all our stuff. We’ve only been ourselves but there is room for a few tents/ campers. Our kid loves the water and throwing rocks was a key activity this trip. We love that it feels so secluded and you get the full camping experience but aren’t too far away from civilization.

Campsite 3 - Blue Jay

Dave saved our first trip of the season! We forgot a few essentials and he was there to help us through. There was also a pop-up sauna that was amazing. We’ve stayed at most sites now and each one is special. They are all clean, spacious, and many with access to the river. Best campground ever and we return year after year. Thanks, Dave!

Campsite 5 ( Osprey )

We really enjoyed camping at The Landing, campsite #5 (Osprey). We were the only campers on the grounds, which was really lucky—but the campsites are very private regardless. Every campsite has an amazing view and easy access to the river. (Campsite #5 seemed to have the most direct path to the river). The campsite is well equipped with a fire pit and LARGE picnic table. The outhouse was a godsend. This was my first camping experience as an adult, and it was AMAZING. 10/10, would camp again!
