Nice site. Quiet area. Host replied to all questions in a timely manner.
We had a great time this year at Lower Twin Lake this year. Can't wait to go back next year. Amanda is accommodating and very quick to respond.
This was our second trip to this camp and it did not disappoint! We booked space for a larger group this time and there was plenty of level grass and shade trees for everyone’s tents. Porta-potties were clean and low.
The private river spot right across the road is perfect: plenty of shaded, sandy bank and room to swim. The water was amazing!
The host was communicative, flexible and helpful when we had an issue due a wildfire in the area. I highly recommend the camp and hosting!

Apple Tree Camp (Site 2)
Its a great very quiet out of the way camping spot for a large groups or small. Tons of wildlife including deer and turkey. No power but had a porta party that was clean if you need it. We had 4 rvs with generators. Most of us just used solar to keep RV batteries up and charge phones. White River is walking distance from apple tree camp site. Tigh valley store it is close enough for most needs. Several adventures are close including Maupin and Pine Hollow lake resort. 3 ponds full of frogs and wildlife right next to the Apple Tree site. Very clean properly with beautiful views of the hills around. Host we're kind and communicated well. Love to go again.

Exceptional stay! Quiet, nice view and a perfect river access for bathing.
We got to bring our dog to her second camping trip and experience our first aura borealis overall an amazing stay the sprinklers were on, but didn’t cause any disruption
So much nicer than anticipated! Absolutely beautiful site that is very well maintained. I was initially worried about the weather being too hot in Maupin (87 degrees) but the big trees provided plenty of shade and by evening, the hills casted a huge shadow over the site. Temps were easily manageable. Lots of mosquitoes but no bees/wasps. Paddle boarding was a short drive away (pine hollow reservoir). Would absolutely return in the future.
This site was amazing!! Beautiful night skies, gorgeous lake and views. Our host Amanda was WONDERFUL, as always. We’ll be back for sure!!!

A great place to camp a short walk to a sandy beach on the river, with plenty of space to set up a tent, pop-up camper, cooking area, etc. No issues with bugs/bees and we never saw another camping group.

2026 Fourth of July RV Trip

Big Lake Beach Campsite
This property was exactly what we were looking for, for our Fourth of July trip.
Couple of highlights - The "lake" was very large and clear, perfect for our paddle boards and kayaks; the beach area was also large and had several options for our 24ft travel trailer and one tent, but could easily accommodate more; our dogs were able to be off leash and swim as much as their hearts desire; clear skies, peace and quiet, and beautiful views of Mt. Hood.
Couple of the lowlights - I lived in Alaska for four years, but the MOSQUITOS at this campsite are INSANE! While I highly recommend this site, I would be sure to pack bug spray, citronella, and mosquito nets/screened pop-up if you want to be outside after 8pm; we have an independent suspension system on our travel trailer, I don't know if I would recommend this site to someone with straight axles and low ground clearance as the last ~200yds into the site are bumpier than most forest roads; lastly, despite a good attempt to lay down sand at the site, it is now ground in to moon dust, causing for it be a bit dusty, but still manageable.
All things considered, we had a great time. Amanda was also very quick to respond to my questions or concerns. Thanks Amanda!
The pictures don't do this space justice. Each view is so beautiful with the hills surrounding. Very quiet, very clean, private, and tons of wildlife. Our dogs loved splashing in the White River, and our buddies cooled off in the pond all day. It is the perfect spot for large groups.
We loved that there was burn ban and no fireworks for the 4th. One less thing to worry about with the dogs and small kiddos.
We will definitely be back. To be honest, it was hard to leave!

Oak tree camp in White River canyon
This spot was awesome! It’s such a large plot of land which allows you to have some distance from others. Bathrooms were about a 4 minute walk down the hill and they were super clean. The water was also about a 4 minute walk and so beautiful. The views were amazing and the star gazing is reason enough for a return trip.
We did not have any issues with bees and very minimal mosquitos at dusk. One thing to note is that the private beach area is for all of the campsites in that area. It is beautiful but is a smaller sandy spot so if there are multiple large groups it can get crowded.
This was a beautiful, 10/10 spot with great communication from the host.
I booked last minute for the July holiday weekend for me and my dog to escape the fireworks and I'm so happy this site was open.
The site is pretty visible to the two roads nearby, but given the distance, I don't think folks driving by could see much; there's not much traffic on the dead end roads, either. And although the entrance is just a cattle gate and a chain, I felt totally safe the whole time.
Grass was short and there were a bunch of tent spots under the trees by the creek to choose from. The dog loved cooling off in the creek and romping around the open field (a massive open area--all to ourselves) I did lots of grass seed and tick checks on the dog, but didn't see a single tick the whole time. (I saw one persistent yellow jacket and zero mosquitos.)
Yes, there are lots of dried out cowpies and the plastic picnic table has seen better days, but it did the job and neither of us minded. I can imagine it's a really different scene if the cows are on the field at the time.
Given the scenery, stargazing, solitude, I think we'll be back. I can't wait to check out some of Amanda's other sites!

Oak tree camp in White River canyon
Absolutely loved our stay here. It was so secluded and beautiful. We had the whole field to ourselves and were able to relax. Would highly recommend. I definitely hope to come back!
As mentioned by previous campers, this place is beautiful, serene, and private. It’s a very large space and we were able to set up multiple campers and tents in comfortable zones. The pond was clear and cool, and made for a nice place to lower the body temperature. We took a day trip over to White River Falls where we hung out on the beach and met some locals—highly recommend. The site offers a bit of cell service in case you need to check in with family or incoming campers. We would definitely return to this space. Amanda was responsive to our few questions and had someone come to our site to help with a couple things.

the land is absolutely stunning!! the brush and landscaping are very well maintained, the camps are spread out enough that they feel really private, and the portapotty is very clean! 10/10 would recommend staying here! the dogs we had were very safe and were able to run around in the field! campsites themselves are perfectly close to the White River, it made for ideal noises for sleeping next to!
we will be coming back in the future!!
one possible suggestion would be to have a dumpster on site that campers can pack out to? not sure about the regulations for something like that way out in Tygh Valley, but just a thought!

The setting is beautiful.
You wind up the high desert roads until you reach a remote gate, easily enter with the code, and drive down to your own personal lake.
Seems like a great place to fish. We let our dogs check out the area while we set up camp. Once we were settled one of our dogs was covered head to toe in TICKS. I think it must be the time of year.
As soon as we go them all off of her we left.

Incredible tent camping experience. So much privacy, the views were gorgeous from every angle, the stars were so bright and the river was perfect for swimming. Not much more you could ask for.

Private Riverside Campsite
The site was easy to locate and was as described. Our dog had fun next to the river. And there were lots of options for us to choose from to pitch our tent.
The property and view were beautiful with easy water access. The porta potty was very clean. They provided a table, but it was extremely weathered and would crack with the lightest touch. I’m also not sure where the shower is that they say is located on the property, although we didn’t need it.
The listing did not make it clear that this was located on an active cattle ranch. We had some issues with the cattle coming through our camp and breaking property. They also rubbed up on our trailer a handful of times. It was somewhat of a difficult space with dogs due to cow pies and close proximity of cattle without fencing.
The grass was also very overgrown - we were in a trailer so it wasn’t a huge issue, but I suspect it would be a challenging spot to tent camp.

Private Riverside Campsite
What an incredible place. I consider myself lucky that the owners of this property are willing to share it. Hosts were always responsive and accommodating. Coordinates were easy to follow. It is close to town, but feels a million miles away once you're at your campsite. Several spots to choose from, just be understanding and flexible to setup at an adjacent spot, as it is a working ranch/property. Remember to bring bug spray! Please respect the burn ban to keep our state safe. The portapotty was clean and well maintained. I felt safe and totally at peace, even camping solo. I will definitely be back!

Highly recommend!
If you look for solitude in nature this is an awesome spot. We could walk/hike/run miles and miles right from our campsite. We listened to wildlife and watched the stars at night. It was beautiful! Pack in pack out!
I have stayed with my wife here before, I have also camped on the property a few times. It has become one of my favorite places to get away. It’s very stress free, Amanda is a wonderful host and the place is quite frankly, stunning. I enjoy places of silence and few people, and this has both. And the stars, you just can’t get them any better than here. Fantastic. BF
The location was really nice just outside of maupin, however I did have to leave after my first night as I got totally swarmed by yellow jackets! I had to leave as quickly as possible as the wasps attacked me and my dog- my dog was terrified. If you are visiting the site I stayed at during wasp season i definitely recommend having a protected shelter area for food, because these guys mean business. I wish we could have enjoyed the scenery and relaxed more!
