Imagine a mesmerizing camping destination nestled along the banks of the serene Clyde river. Towering trees provide a natural canopy overhead, dappling sunlight onto the lush forest floor. The tranquil sound of water gently flowing creates a soothing ambiance, perfect for relaxation. Picture yourself setting up camp near the riverbank, with the refreshing breeze carrying the scent of wildflowers. As the day fades into night, marvel at the starlit sky mirrored on the shimmering surface of the river. It's a breathtaking experience that seamlessly blends nature's beauty with the joy of outdoor living. Brooman rests approximately half way between Ulladulla and Batemans Bay on the fresh water section of the Clyde River. The property stretches south on both sides of the river from the Old Sawmill Town located at its northern end. Brooman is a working farm and encompasses lots of beautiful spaces, restored old buildings, two small mountains, fertile river flats, native forests, grasslands, deep water holes, tree covered rapid sections of river and sweeping views. Brooman is less than 30 minutes drive to some of the most beautiful beaches on the south coast. Shallow Crossing is 10 minutes to the south. North is Pigeon House car park, Yadboro and the base of The Castle. To the West there are hundreds of kilometres of Forestry and National Park roads through some of the most spectacular forested mountain country east of the Coastal Range. The Clyde River Berry Farm is just minutes down the road. Local fish and chips, great coffee and handmade bread is 25mins drive at Burrill Lake. Some of the best restaurants and bars on the coast are less than 40 minutes drive at Milton and Mollymook. If you are looking to relax and recharge in nature or explore amazing country, then Brooman is it.

Building History This building is crafted entirely from local timber, including original floorboards, weatherboards, and Coachwood architraves. Off-Grid Living The property is completely off-grid and powered by a central solar system with underground 240V power. Today, it stands as a testament to the town's ingenuity and resilience, with many of its features, like the deck and vanity, built with local and recycled materials. Off-Grid Living The property is completely off-grid and powered by a central solar system with underground 240V power. We absolutely loved this camp. Super private at the end spot, and the river is clear and great for a swim. Bathrooms are great, but a bit of a hike from this site.

Beautiful spot close to the fresh water creek. Very private. Good, clean site with plenty of space to spread your campsite out. Only downside was we both got ticks but that was it. Otherwise a special spot.

We had a great long weekend. The camp and the river were fanatic. The directions were easy to follow and easy to find. We towed a 22 foot caravan in and had no issues at all. We will be going back again for sure.

Top Crossing Brooman
Top Crossing is a beautiful campsite. Lots of open space, shade, direct water access and so private and quiet. The rapids provide a nice backdrop with a beach entry to the water. Great concrete fire ring and metal fireplace to keep everyone warm while also cooking. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks Trish for another great stay.

Just wanted to say—Burroman Flat was unreal. The nights and early mornings had this hazy, foggy, almost dream-like vibe. June and July must be the perfect time to go, light hits everything in such a soft, diffused way. Great for those moody photos. And that river.. So close to the campsite, with trees lining both sides and mist rising off the water in the morning. It honestly felt like something out of a movie. Peaceful, beautiful, and exactly what we brothers needed.

Our group camped with off-road vans. Would get tricky if it got too wet but a great spot at the end of the campground which was well signposted. Felt like we were the only people out there even though it was a long weekend and others were camping nearby. We’ll be back!

Lemon Tree Cottage
A secluded little historic village in a peaceful valley. Half hour drive to the start of Pigeonhouse Mountain walk. The restored cottages are so charming, we were comfortable and cosy in ours, loved all the timber and features. Host took extra care to make sure we were comfortable. Highly recommended.

We all absolutely loved staying on the property, it was beautiful and peaceful, there were signs so was easy to find where we need to go. We would highly recommend this place and will be coming back.

The location is stunning, with beautiful scenery, in the middle of nature. We were there over Easter and unfortunately some of the other sites were quite rowdy and we were surprised at how much the sound carried. However if you were there at a quieter time with less people I imagine it would be much more peaceful.

We had a great stay at Brooman. It was a great spot and we would definitely reccomend. Great places to swim, and lovely and private campsites. Lovely drive from Sydney with plenty of places to stop on the way for lunch.

Beautiful little spot, camp-site itself was nice with a little tin roof shelter and fire pit, we stayed at 1B which was about 50m from the river itself, little bush walk down some stairs. Toilets were nice and clean, and the portable water made it really easy to wash up. I took a toyota hilux to access the property but I honestly recon it can be done in a 2wd (weather permitting) the road we took was off the state forest and it honestly wasn't that bumpy or hilly. Few divots and a little erosion here and there. There's patchy phone reception in places which makes it hard with Google maps, i will say to keep an eye on every farm gate you see when you think you are close as the signs a bit hard to spot (the gate itself has the name on it but it's hard to read) but yes 100% recommend this place if i can camp there by myself with a 6 year old and a 1.5 year old and have fun then I'm sure you will too

We had a wonderful few nights down at Burroman Flat enjoying the tranquility and the frequent swims in the Clyde river next to the sites. The water is a nice temperature this time of year, and there are lots of spots to get in. Trish was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. It certainly added to our experience having the place to ourselves, but the various campsites are well spread out, although relying on solar would be difficult. Our only regret was in not being stealthy enough to creep up and see a platypus, which I suspect live in the area.

The rain didn’t stop us enjoying our stay! We had plenty of private space, it felt like we were alone. Easy access to the river – we enjoyed swimming and fishing – with our toddlers/kids. Close enough to Bawley Point and other towns, beaches etc too. We’d stay again, happily!

Great level grassy site with plenty of room around if required for a larger group. Spacing between sites at the property was done well, there were other guests on site during our stay but didn't feel like you were living in each other's pockets. Provision of potable water and permission to use firewood already on the ground was particularly helpful. Detailed directions to the site were also spot on. Planning to visit again sometime. Cheers

The land was nice, the camp spot at 1a was nice. But, the 'direct access to river' that was advertised was disappointing. You have to walk down some steep stairs and through 100m the bush to get to the river, which isn't very accessible and has a very strong current. We couldn't get the kayak down there, and the kids couldn't swim. We booked for the river to kayak, swim and fish. We couldn't do that, so we left a day early out of boredom. The images on the site make it look like the camp site is next to the river and the river is good for activities.

Great spot! If you want privacy, easy access to the river and be close to both the toilets, water and campsite entrance, this is the spot for you! To note, 1A & 1B seem to be smaller than 1 but that's because 1 is ginormous and I swear could fit 5+ tents on it! 1B has so much room and the layout makes it private, even with 1A being next door. 1B has a direct access point to the river, which you will need to walk down steps to get to. We were there on a sudden downpour so the rivers current was strong but we still got in and had a wonderful time! If you have kids I would advise not to let them roam around near the river solo. We didn't expect to find a roofed shelter on our site, and thank goodness we had it! It was perfect for the days it rained... I liked this a lot, and is a great addition. The directions Trish sent were very useful! and we advise to download them- phone signal isn't easy to come by on the sites. Toilets are super close and you have a choice of portable chemical toilets or drop toilets. There is ample water available and the camp spots are well looked after. The view of the hill is beautiful and the wildlife is stunning! Definitely one for the bird watchers.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful campsite, made even better by the wonderful Trish, who went above and beyond to accommodate us and make our stay enjoyable. Portaloos and long-drop toilets regularly cleaned, and abundant potable water in tanks spread around the property that are regularly topped up. Abundant spots to swim on the river, that is easily accessible, gentle and child friendly. Also caught a couple of nice Australian bass. Access to the property is via unsealed roads so be prepared for a very dirty vehicle, but this is the only negative. If you're not up for camping, there are also the cottages, which Trish gave us a tour of and have been lovingly and beautifully restored. We loved our stay and will be back.
