Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away. Lions Road repairs have been completed, however is classed as not suitable for large vans. On your way in or out, be sure to check out the boutique village of Wollombi which is just 10 minutes from Cranky Rock, where you'll enjoy wine tasting, fresh produce and quaint cafes. Other must-see's in the area include the Olney State Forest and the Wattagan National Park. The property is located just off a scenic drive, over a 2wd accessible creek crossing. It is peaceful and secluded. Campers can use a bush shower if needed but it’s reliant on rain water in the tank. You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi. Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. 3 nights at Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat

For us, this was a near perfect experience. We are not experienced campers and don't typically do camping getaways, but we wanted to do something outdoors with our 5 and 9 year old sons. We went with the big tent accommodation option and it was perfect. The site is self-contained enough that you don't need to worry about cooking, toilet or shower facilities, but remote enough that modern conveniences and entertainment (TVs, computers, phones etc) were not an option. There are loads of places to explore and climb, or you can chill out, swim, and rest. We visited in mid September, so the days were warm and the nights were cool - perfect for day activities and getting fires going at night. The only minor thing we would do differently next time is to bring a full size four wheel drive or more rugged SUV. Our SUV was probably okay, but having no off road driving experience, we were a bit nervous. But if you are steady, it is manageable. Really happy with the adventure.

11 nights at Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat

This was our third stay at Rocky River Glamp Tent, and it just keeps getting better every time! We visited with our two children and our dog, and there was something for everyone to enjoy. We explored new places, had picnics, went fishing, used our stand-up paddleboard and enjoyed some beautiful hikes. Kristy and Dan are wonderful hosts who always make us feel welcome and well looked after. The property is kept in excellent condition, and each time we return, we can clearly see how much hard work and care they have put into improving it. Some friends joined us for one of the weekends, and everything went smoothly with no issues at all. It’s a fantastic place for families, friends and pets to relax, explore and enjoy the outdoors. We always leave looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended!

Weekend Trip to Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat

The "Cove" site was amazing. The sound of the running rapids was the highlight and the proximity to the non flushing toilet was a bonus. We had a large group so the extras stayed at the North Runway which was great to be close but not on top of one another. The birdlife was another highlight, the cows, the goannas, were amazing to see too. The road down (4WD) only was easy and fun!

Weekend Trip to Fern Valley Ranch

Absolutely loved our stay at Fern Valley Ranch. It’s a beautiful property and a great place to get away for a few days. The converted school bus was something a bit different and made the trip even more memorable. The property is really well maintained, the amenities were clean, and there’s plenty of space to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The waterfall and bushwalk were definitely highlights, and the animals and farm experience were great fun as well. The hosts and camp managers were friendly, welcoming and made everything easy from arrival. A fantastic spot for families or a weekend away with friends. We had a great time and would definitely come back.

Loved our stay at Fern Valley Ranch! The converted bus was charming, well equipped, and very comfortable, with lovely soft beds. The location was beautiful, with an orchard on one side and a short walk to the waterfall. Jenna and Jiji were friendly and helpful, and the whole property is exceptionally well maintained. We'd definitely stay again and happily recommend it to friends. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yet again this place did not disappoint!! Tiny house accommodation was A1 as usual, the views spectacular and having a visit from Kristy to top it all off. You guys are always so accommodating and it was great to have a chat. Leaving on Sunday morning is always hard and this time our furbabies were very somber too.....we will return to this beautiful location again and again!!!

We really enjoyed our stay in the Luxury Glamping tent at Ballina Beach Nature Resort. 🤎⛺️🐾 The tent was spacious, comfortable and such a nice change from our usual camping setup. We loved the four-poster bed, having our own bathroom and kitchen facilities, and being able to relax with the dogs nearby. It was peaceful, dog-friendly and a lovely spot to slow down. We especially enjoyed sitting outside, having a campfire and being close to the beach. Everything was easy from check-in through to our stay, and we’d happily stay again. A beautiful little glamping option if you still want that outdoor feel with a few extra comforts. 🐾🤎

Had the most peaceful, beautiful stay here at Windmill Creek. Went for a lovely dip in the creek, walked up to the dam and there’s a hilltop view on Bob’s property that’s breathtaking. Would 100% recommend, I stayed in the caravan and it was super cozy, clean and comfortable! Wish I had more time here 10/10.
