Located 15-minute drive to the glorious beaches of Jervis Bay, 2.5 hrs south of Sydney and 2.5hrs east of Canberra The Wandy Donkey Camp offers 150 acre property for you to rest without the hustle and bustle of the south coast. Created for families wanting to explore the beauty of the South Coast. With a natural stream that traverses the property there is much for you to observe and enjoy. Watching the Cows and Sheep graze or admiring the Alpacas long necks. There are donkeys you might get to interact with. Feel free to bring your carrots. You will be able to sit with nature by the little stream watching for the wombats, kangaroos and lizards as they do their thing. Only 15 minute drive to nearest beaches, you can enjoy some great cafes and restaurants around the local Shoalhaven area. Travel 30 minutes south to Bendalong and feed the stingrays. Head west up the mountain to beautiful Jerrawangla lookout and Tianjara Falls. Located in the heart of the Shoalhaven, The Wandy Donkey Camp is central to all your coastal experiences. Kate & Dave, your hosts, has a wealth of local knowledge that will get you started on your South Coast adventure. This is a, you bring, you take, experience leaving no physical trace behind. But leaving with a great story to share with your loved ones. Talk to Kate to arrange a detailed, up-close interaction with the farm animals. Remember this is a commercial farm. There is animal poo in the paddocks, even maybe at your site. If this is not for you, please find another hip camp property to visit.

A Fantastic place to stay for a family to Retreat and Revive. It is a working farm, so please note there are many animals, they make noise and they do need to stay in their right paddocks (that's the plan). So please shut a gate if you found it closed. When you arrive, please phone either Kate or Dave. If we are available, you will be greeted at the front gate near the letter box, by Kate or Dave and shown to your site. If we are not available to greet you there, we will give you directions over the phone. You can come and go as you please as long as you keep the gates shut or left as you found them. Pitch your tent by the stream and enjoy happy hour. You will hear the hum of the highway and some sites have a tree for shade to relax by at your site. The sites are large and well-spaced apart so you will not feel too crowded. Some have a slight slope. The property is 150 acres of farmland and bush. You will have the opportunity to explore more of the property ask Kate or Dave for a more up close and personal interactive experience with the sheep, cows and donkeys. There are local animals who live by the creek so be mindful of the wombat holes, Lizards, and Tea Tree that may have snakes and/or ticks present. If you have your Tennis gear with you can hire the tennis court by booking online with the Shoalhaven City Council. Just ask Kate. There is also a play equipment at the local Tennis Courts on the highway. There is a community information board at the local hall to help keep you up to date with any emergency events in the local area. Whatever your concerns are please just let Kate or Dave know and we will help you figure it out. Please note that the weather depends on if fires are allowed or not. We adhere to local authorities' recommendations. So, I apologise in advance if the weather is not fit for fires.

This site is located on a farm in a grassy paddock near a water hole. You will need to call upon arrival to be taken to your site, Kate or Dave. Please take ALL your rubbish/waste with you. You will hear road noise from the Princes Highway but don't let that stop you from enjoying the scenery. You will have other campers drive past your site to get to theirs. Fires are weather dependent. There is a port-a-loo approximately 200m from your site. There is cow poo and donkey poo in all the paddocks. Remember this is a farm.

This is a site designed for you to enjoy a sleep in the Paddock. There is a Port-a-loo approximately 200m you can walk or drive to. Nil electricity so go old school living with bare essentials. Nil potable water at this site so bring your own. The Paddock is a flat grassy paddock, that offers afternoon shade.

Bush Cabin is a Tiny Cabin on a hill in the bush. Perfect for couples or singles to relax in and enjoy the sounds of the bush. Guests will get to take in the natural views of the Australian bush land and relax on the Gazebo great for morning yoga, meditation practice or just lay on the day bed and read a good book. The cabin has a kitchenette with fridge, composting toilet, shower and air conditioning. Perfect for your relax and unwind getaway without any hussel and bussel.

Wow! Felt right at home @ The Wandy Donkey Camp, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Kate and Dave are enthusiastic, hospitable and were always easily contactable throughout our stay if we needed anything. We chose the Firewood add on (the view of the stars + Milky Way from the campsite was incredible to watch whilst sitting by the fire) , as well as the Stingray Experience add on - WOW. Dave is highly knowledgeable and passionate about these beautiful creatures, and we HIGHLY recommend giving it a go. What an experience! The site is clean, quiet, beautiful and the perfect place to unwind. We can’t wait to come back soon.

The Wandy Donkey Camp
Couldn't recommend the Wandy Donkey Farm more highly, especially if you have kids. Wonderful location, easy to get to, very relaxed, and the animals are an absolute highlight. The donkeys are incredibly friendly and love to hang out, the alpacas are just the right amount of weird, and then there are the little cows and sheep to round it out (we were lucky enough to arrive just after the lambs were born too). The highlight for us adults was our host, Kate. All the comments mentioning Kate are on point, she's so accommodating and laid back, it was a pleasure and we'll definitely be back.

Large flat grassy sites with fire pit provided. Firewood available to purchase. Owner was super friendly and met me at arrival to show me to my site. Porta loo was clean and stocked up with toilet paper. Loved seeing all the animals.

Wandy Donkey was a great place to stay; Kate was super lovely to deal with; the donkeys were so lovely and friendly, seeing the baby lambs was an added bonus! Campsite port-a-loo was clean and had plenty of toilet paper! Location was great and star gazing at night was a lot of fun.

Overall we had a pretty good experience. The paddock was quite large and we had our own corner with the nearest people approx. 100m away but we weren't aware there would be 5+ other groups nearby when booking. The toilet provided was a (quite full and smelly/dirty) portaloo in the middle of the paddock so privacy was really quite slim. Other people were playing loud music across the paddock until about 11pm at night which was not ideal. For $100 per night, we thought it was quite steep for the lack of privacy nor clean toilet facilities, but Kate was wonderful and location was accessible for 2wd vehicles nearby to the main road.

Such an amazing experience. Grounds were level for us to set up the rooftop tent. Kate and Dave were extremely hospitable, including there 2 beautiful dogs! Meeting the donkeys were an experience and a half. Would 100% recommend and we’ll be back in the future!

This is the second time we have stayed at Kate’s property and like the first, we had a wonderful experience. It’s a peaceful patch of countryside so close to the attractions of the south coast. Huskinson, Milton, Ulladulla and Mollymook. There’s nothing like waking up in the country to a beautiful sunrise slight mist across the paddocks and a cup of coffee. Kate and David are so helpful and are excellent hosts. They are only too willing to help if needed. We had firewood delivered to our site and Dave came to check on us when we had battery issues and again to warn us of incoming weather. We would recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away from it in a peaceful setting, yet still in close proximity to the coastline and attractions. We will be back again and again.

The Wandy donkey is a very chilled spot, with plenty of room between campsites. The amenities were clean and close enough by. The best part was meeting all of Kate’s donkeys and other animals, was so cool!

We had a great time staying on the farm! Our 2 young boys loved vitsiting all the animals and getting up close with the donkeys and brushing them. We enjoyed the serenity of the farm and watching the kangaroos in the evenings and mornings. It was a good midway point to get into Huskisson, Sussex inlet and bendalong. Kate was a great host always up for a chat and very kind and accommodating of our 2 inquisitive kids. You can see Kate's love for the farm and her animals which made it more special.

Overall it’s a very basic site and not worth the money you have to pay for it. The porta potty was completely full and unusable. It was in worse conditions then free sites. The owners were very helpful and friendly with checking in late but I would not pay this for the site.

Very large paddock provides a rare sense of peacefulness and privateness. The paddock is very well maintained making it an ideal retreat for those looking to reconnect with nature in a serene. The spot is located near to amazing beaches and towns. Kate and Dave are very welcoming, whose genuine hospitality and helpful nature make us feel immediately at home. Wonderful campsite, lovely hosts, great spot. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed our camping here. We didn’t land till late on the Friday night and Kate give such clear instructions on where we needed to go, she’s was extremely helpful and quick to get back to my messages. Loved the open field for camping and surrounded by trees. When we came back on the Saturday evening we were greeted by a few kangaroos beside our tents, which was so nice to see in the wild as we don’t see them much coming from the city. The morning haze and sounds of different birds and kates roosters in the morning was lovely to wake up to. We got to pet and feed the animals which was an added bonus to our trip 😁 Really enjoyed our trip and the only thing that could do with work is the toilet/ bathroom situation. Otherwise couldn’t fault the camp!

We had such a fantastic stay at the Wandy Donkey Camp. We felt really at home and comfortable surrounded by Aussie bush and farm, and Kate was a total champ! The farm and the animals were such a bonus, and we will definitely go back! Close enough to amazing beaches, but far enough for Aussie serenity. Highly recommend.
