At the foot of the Watagan mountains, close to the Watagan 4WD tracks, picnic areas, and bike tracks. Also close to Lake Macquarie where you will find fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing etc. About a 20 - 40 min drive to beautiful beaches. Ideal for those wanting to be surrounded by birds, nature and a couple of friendly doggos. Also great for people wanting to try out their new camper, van or tent for the 1st time as we are an easy 1 hour drive north of Sydney on the M1 and close enough to shops for those forgotten items. Also we have unfenced dams, if you are camping with young children please consider carefully and let me know before booking. We have very basic bathroom facilities of 1 flushing toilet in the shed and an outdoor warm shower.

Bunyip's Top Paddock.
Awesome experience camping at the foothills of the watagans. Massive site in gated paddock. Plenty of shade. Convenient fire pit. Short stroll to shack and amenities. Lisa and Rob are terrific hosts that make the stay relaxed and enjoyable. Wildlife everywhere ( but be quiet for best results ) even visits from wild deer. Hosts dogs will sit around with you for company. The dogs are pet friendly wanderers. The amenities work fine but some people may find the shower a new experience ( works great ) Would recommend and definitely stay again

A great spot. Lisa was very helpful, showing us to our site, quite a few people camping on her property but we were well separated and had our own private space.

Bunyip's Under the Pine - Primitive
Camping in absolute bliss!
Lisa was so welcoming and helpful upon arrival. We set up camp and explored the forest. So many beautiful areas to explore! You have the option to have a fire in the evenings and can either collect your own wood or bring your own. The property is very well maintained and comfortable. I highly recommend and will be back!

Bunyip's HideAway primitive camp
Lovely open campsite where you can have a camp fire, let your dog have a fantastic run around off leash and not feel at all cramped by other campers enjoying Bunyip. The toilet facility does need a tidy up but it does not really detract from the enjoyment of the campsite.

A great property, really kind and accomodating owners and had a lovely time here with our dog. Plenty of space and privacy between each spot and the owners prepared the firepit for us prior to arrival. Would absolutely recommend!

Bunyip's HideAway primitive camp
Lovely bush camping, a little expen
It was great, natural bush camping. Lisa was helpful and showed us where our site was. Sites were large and ideal for groups. It was as described. We just felt that at $43, if was a little expensive for what it offered, compared to other Hipcamp places we have stayed at.

Bunyip's Under the Pine - Primitive
Lisa was a wonderful host and the dogs are beautiful, placid pups. I felt very comfortable with them and we have small children with the youngest being 1y.o. That being said, they did use the campsite as their bathroom (I respect that it is their home but it wasn't fun with little children). Just something to be mindful of if booking with little ones. It was a long walk to the toilet and the shower was an outdoor shower with a make shift tarp as a curtain. We never used it as it was a bit too open for our liking. Lisa has planned the individual sites really well to maintain each campsites privacy. The grass was freshly mowed for our arrival. We all had a lovely time thank you Lisa.

Great spot for a little rest and relaxation.. Greeted by the hosts Lisa and Robert on arrival and given the option of a few spots. Had a great campfire for the night and woke to the sounds of the birds chirping , the cows mooing and the smells of distant campfire breakfasts being cooked Will book again.👌👌

Great camp site but amenities but little bit of work fixing up the toilet and shower is needed. Lets the experience down and would prevent me from recommending.
