At the foot of the Watagan mountains, close to the Watagan 4WD tracks, picnic areas, and bike tracks. Also close to Lake Macquarie where you will find fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing etc. About a 20 - 40 min drive to beautiful beaches. Ideal for those wanting to be surrounded by birds, nature and a couple of friendly doggos. Also great for people wanting to try out their new camper, van or tent for the 1st time as we are an easy 1 hour drive north of Sydney on the M1 and close enough to shops for those forgotten items. Also we have unfenced dams, if you are camping with young children please consider carefully and let me know before booking. We have very basic bathroom facilities of 1 flushing toilet in the shed and an outdoor warm shower.

Bunyip's HideAway primitive camp
Peaceful paradise
I have absolutely loved my time at bunyips camp, Lisa & co have been very accommodating & friendly, the land is well taken care of and the dogs have provided a form of therapy I didn’t know I needed Probably one of the best spots I’ve encountered on my journeys

Bunyip's Under the Pine - Primitive
Great space and secluded sites. Plenty of room under the pines for our group of 6 adults, 5 kids and two pups. Kids loved exploring the bush and we loved how close it was to Newcastle, a great camping experience. Lisa is a lovely and responsive host!

Bunyip's-Moo's Site Primitive Power
Although you share the area with others it still feels peaceful and secluded. Host was lovely. Location is amazing, close by to shops and takeaway but also feels like your far away. Great place to bring your well trained dogs, my dog loved being able to explore.

Bunyip's Wattle Grove - primitive
Great spot for us to stay with plenty of space between sites. Also plenty of space for the dog to run around.

Bunyip's HideAway primitive camp
Beautiful land out the back of a friendly hosts house. Full of trees and seperate spaces for good sized camp set ups. The Hideaway area is great and private, but there are walking routes through the camp area to go down through the trees and see the little river, so expect some random passer bys. The owner has two beautiful natured dogs who will happily lay near your camp in a spot of sun.
