We loved camping at Platypus Bend, it was lovely to be surrounded by just the sounds of nature with no-one else around. We are pretty sure we had a visit from a Wombat in the middle of the night. There were all sorts of games onsite for our use and will definitely be booking again.

We had a wonderful time camping out there! We’re a pretty experienced and self reliant daddy/daughter camping team…. Lisa was a lovely, friendly host- her sites offer some really nice, shady and sheltered positions and a few little bush walks that we enjoyed exploring. It’s also close enough to civilisation (without it being obvious) that we were able to duck out for a bit and see what else was in the area. Thanks for having us, Lisa! We’ll be back again soon!

Really nice spot! Sandy & Janette provided really good info on the local area. Instructions were easy to follow. The spot itself was really nice by the lake. Heaps of birds cruising about, happy horses & a friendly pup that came to say hi a couple of times. You also feel well out in the country but are still super close to shops and local attracations. We will definitely be back.

We are 40 minutes out from the heart of Hunter Valley wine country, minutes away from a few local beaches; Norah Head, Catherine Hill Bay, Soldiers Beach or Caves Beach. All have cafes or pubs close. If you are wanting to head to the bush the Watagan Mountains which are our backdrop has endless picnic spots/look outs etc where you can enjoy driving, walking, dirt/push bike tracks or if you have a specific mountain bike buzz you can head to Awaba Mountain Bike trail. We purchased the property in mid 2021 to have an escape from city life. We have two active young children and I like to build and tinker. We now want to allow others to also have an escape into the tranquillity. The farm is not a productive farm as such, its a hobby farm, but that is what we call it. Tranquillity in a rural setting. Camp in our field and unwind. Only 8 min from the Pacific Mwy and 10 min from Morisset shops, is this beautiful parcel of land. Just 1hr drive from Sydney, 1.5hr from the CBD. The property backs onto Olney State Forest and has abundant wildlife. Several groups of wallabies are regulars, kookaburras have their nest in the trees, a few wombat holes are scattered around and deer have been seen on the property. There is only about 6 acres of cleared land and the remainder is untouched bush. Sawpit Creek is a seasonal creek which supports an abundant ecosystem. The area benefits from short commutes to local beaches, the lake and rural countryside. There are plenty of attractions and tourist destinations. We are currently only setup to cater for self-contained campers so you need to bring your own camping toilet/shower and drinking water. We do not have any facilities to offer. Please bring what you need and take with you what you bring. The paddock is level land. 4WDs are recommended to access the field, it gets a bit muddy after rain. Although there is one high spot near the bush driveway that seems to stay firm. Your furry family members are welcome to join you.
