The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. But it is still an amazing spot, where nature does all the hard work, and I would love to share it with people. This is the perfect place for those who want to be in total peace and quiet, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Each campsite is private, where by you're the only camper able to book the site. Some are more private than others - Read each description for details. *Please note* access to the property is via Megalong Road - a narrow windy road, the only road in and out of Megalong Valley. Escape the Hustle in Nellies Glen – Megalong Valley Before you book: We accommodate car campers and hikers. → Car camping bookings are limited to ensure guests enjoy a quiet stay without being impacted by others, and to reduce the impact on our roads and environment. Please ensure your vehicle has sufficient clearance for off-road access. → Hikers are almost always welcome. Hiking sites are for those walking the Six Foot Track from Katoomba or Jenolan Caves. Nellies Glen is a stop along the Six Foot Track, spanning the grassy flats of Megalong Creek that the locals (wombats) call home. This private campground is ready for your next getaway. Right among the Aussie scrub and surrounded by the escarpments of Narrowneck and Ngula Bulgarabang, you'll feel a million miles away — but you’re not. A 1.5-hour walk from Katoomba along the Six Foot Track, or a half-hour trip from Blackheath, will land you at this stunning spot in the Megalong Valley. Explore the Six Foot Track, Devil’s Hole, or other Narrowneck passes on foot, and find your own special slice of Megalong Creek for a refreshing dip. Sling up a hammock, watch the sunset over the escarpment, and see the stars fill the sky. If you’ve driven into the valley, be sure to check out the local wineries, restaurants, and tearooms. This laid-back property is all about privacy — allowing you to connect with your surroundings and respect the bush while having a great time. We’re a family-friendly property and love seeing kids and dogs running around — but we’re not the place for loud music or late-night parties. Exclusivity can be arranged for organisations such as schools, community groups, workshops, or low-key weddings. Otherwise, please note that we or other campers may be present in other areas of the property.

38km from Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve · 4 sites · Tents, RVs · Hartley Vale, NSW
The Hartley Vale Garlic Farm was established in 2018 as an organic garlic farm now owned by James and Michelle and their two children. The farm features a hempcrete building named 'The Stinking Rose' used for drying and curing garlic, that also acts as a big room for garlic feasts during planting (March, April and May each year). The building also houses toilet and shower facilities for guests when camping on site. On some evenings, the sky puts on a real show of golden sun rays with pink, purple and blue clouds while swallows flit across the garden beds catching moths. Our guests like to sit around their campfires watching the spectacular show while kids and dogs run around without the burden of leashes or noise of city traffic.

Yerrinbool is 1 hour from Sydney and a great spot to spend a weekend away, 15 mins from Bowral and 10 mins to Mittagong There are animals on the farm including ducks, chickens, goats, sheep and sometimes even baby cows. The property does need a little clean up but the rear of the property is nice and tranquil. We are directly next to the HWY so sometimes there is road noise, but it's a great location for an easy stopover. Easy access for caravans, keeping in mind the weather as like in all areas it becomes soft when wet. Please note, while we do permit more than one car per site booking, we only allow 1 caravan per site. So if you are in a group with more than 1 caravan, you will need to book multiple sites. Any questions, please let us know. We have Fire Pits in key locations around the farm PLEASE DO NOT move them as they signify each spot for camping. They have allocated spots and we do not need them moved. We also have a toilet in a small shed in the rear paddock for people who are using tents. Also when you come to the campsite please insure that when using the toilet to keep it clean as it is a bush toilet. buckets must be filled up from the dam and using the dam water to flush the toilet please keep clean for the next camper. and water is at the front of the property, if you're required to fill your tanks or rinse off. We have two dams with yabbies you are welcome to collect. If you do collect some please be respectful in the amounts you collect and also throw some raw meat and or frozen veggies like peas and corn into the dam to provide food for the others to grow. The best camping in Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve, NSW guide

Overview

About

In the bush-clad foothills of the Blue Mountains are more than a dozen natural caves to explore at Jenolan Caves. Venture underground to trek through limestone caverns, follow subterranean rivers, and marvel at hanging stalactites, crystalline rocks, and fossils. Alternatively, spot kangaroos on a bush walk through the Jenolan Reserve, choose an active tour and scramble through cave tunnels by torchlight, or dare to discover the caves after dark. There’s no camping at Jenolan Caves, but campers have options within a 20-minute drive.

When to go

Jenolan Caves are open daily year-round, but advance bookings are always advisable, especially on weekends and during NSW school holidays. Peak season is summer (December through February), so book tours at least six weeks in advance. The caves provide a cool retreat from the heat, with underground temperatures maintaining 15°C no matter when you visit.

Know before you go

  • Jenolan Caves are 115 km west of Sydney, or about a 3-hour drive. From Katoomba, it’s about a 2-hour drive. Access to the caves is via Jenolan Cave Road or Edith Road (not accessible for caravans or large motorhomes).
  • There is no public transport to the caves, but free parking is available and shuttle buses run between the car park and the caves. The closest fuel station is 30 km away in Oberon, so be sure to fill up before you set out.
  • You’ll need sturdy closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing to explore the caves. Bring something warm as it’s cool inside the caves.
  • Facilities at Jenolan Caves include restrooms, a café, and a gift shop. The complex also has hotels and restaurants.
  • Most caves can only be visited as part of a guided tour, and minimum age restrictions apply. The only wheelchair-accessible cave is Orient Cave, and visits must be arranged in advance.
