4WD only (clearance of 20cm+ needed). Rocklee is on Wiradjuri land, a short drive from Capertee, surrounded by Gardens of Stone and Capertee national parks and the Mugii Murrum-ban State Conservation Area.
Rocklee is 2.5 hours from Sydney and Dubbo, and a short drive to swimming at Turon and Coorongooba National Parks, sightseeing at Glen Davis, bird watching near Glen Alice and the terrific cafe ‘From the Paddock’.
Access is 4wd only. (We’re serious!)
Our road has ‘roll overs’, rocks and a couple of tight turns on large gradients) on so you need a vehicle with 20cm+ clearance.
If you are towing a camper trailer, you need a good 4wd engine to get back up the hill confidently.
Each campsite is a VERY long way from other sites - usually about 800m.
Rocklee has a mix of no-longer used paddocks and about 950 acres of untouched bush.
You will arrive through the conservation area, which has beautiful pagodas and endless bushwalks. Rocklee is a good site for star gazing.
Hipcampers can choose from plenty of space where they'd like to set up camp.
Please be careful as some paddocks are overgrown, fences have come down and there are lots of wombat holes, so drive slowly and be careful.
There are no amenities here, campers need to be self contained and leave no trace. This means you need to bring water, use exisiing fireplaces and take your rubbish, recycling and compost with you.
(You need to bring water from home or elsewhere on the way. Please note you cannot fill up free tap water at Capertee - either at the BP, the picnic area or the pub. It just doesn’t rain enough to fill up the tanks. Sorry!)

Our property is located in the Blue Mountains, nestled right in the middle of the national park and all that the Blue Mountains bush has to offer. Gums, ferns, fresh air and swimming holes.
I only allow one group to camp at any one time per site. Other groups will be well away from you. However the dam is available for everyone to use. I adjust each booking with each group depending on size of the group and time of year. I also hold large events so will book out the entire site for large groups.
Just a short drive from Sydney but a world away with its ancient forests and meandering pathways. All photos are from the site or within a 2km walk of the camping site in National Park or reserve. Please note that the canyon photos are from a spot that is very difficult to get to.
I welcome self-contained campers with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. However there are facilities on site for smaller groups at an extra cost.
The property offers a number of sites that can accommodate various group numbers. Please message me if you're interested in booking one or more listings for your special get together.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are friendly, but no cats please. Also please be aware that we are surrounded by nature and part of nature are snakes and ticks.

The Hartley Vale Garlic Farm was established in 2018 as an organic garlic farm now owned by James and Michelle and their two children. The farm features a hempcrete building named 'The Stinking Rose' used for drying and curing garlic, that also acts as a big room for garlic feasts during planting (March, April and May each year). There is hot water and an open air shower. A long drop toilet is located nearby. At night the shelter is lit by solar powered lights & the glow of the campfire. The shelter is accessible by 4WD. Dogs are not permitted. Limited firewood is provided.
Firewood can be purchased at $50 for a generous bundle. It is not possible to know how much firewood is required for your stay so during winter please take this into consideration.

The Wollemi Art Farm is a 100 acre block surround by national park - so your only neighbours are trees and animals. We are only 2 kilometres from the stunning Dunns Swamp. We have several camping areas, which range from intimate to spacious, and can host up to 190 people - if you want to book out the whole place (weddings, parties, small festivals)!
Facilities include toilets, water and shelter.
It's called 'The Wollemi Art Farm' because not only do we do arty things there (like quests and Shakespeare nights), in time we shall fill the place with mysterious and beautiful works of art - constructed from the rocks and wood of the landscape itself.
We have our own trails and views (see below).
As mentioned, we run quest adventures (think: clues, a map, exploring, competing against other teams for glory) - get in touch if you would like to know when the next one is, or if you would like your own private quest. I've included some quest material in the photos (more on our Instagram and Youtube). There is an additonal fee for questing.
Walks:
-Look out for the twin cairns on the north side of the public road, about 100m before you get to the main camping area. Follow the trail to the Summit.
-You can also follow the private road up the hill past the main house (turn right off the public road as if you are going to the Spring campsite, then walk past the 'no tresspassing sign' - you are not tresspassing if you are a guest!). Follow this road for a few hundred metres until you see the rocky outcrop towards your right (the 'Souther Heights'). A sign points the way to a cleft that you can ascend. Two cairns mark this spot. Follow the rocky ridge up for several hundred metres. It's a fine adventure.
Runs. I'm a keen distance runner. I have a range of runs mapped out. These include a 10km loop, longer runs up to 20kms, various reps, and more. The WAF is perfect for your running group getaway.

Located at Bilpin, this beautiful campsite is nestled at the foot of the majestic Blue Mountains and backs onto Wollemi National Park. This magical 16 acres is abundant with wildlife & where you camp is the mouth to the beginning of some great hiking tracks in the National Park! :)
There are a few great campsites to choose from- all 2WD accessible. 1 at the top of the property (good for families/large groups up to approx 20) with good flat ground and surrounded by a lush forest. It's close to the quiet country road so it is easy access in and out, another 2 at the back with water views and 1 in the forest (Only if you have 4wd and portable loo we can give you an exclusive spot in the bottom of the golden gorge). Sit back and relax around the campfire whilst toasting a marshmallow or some damper.
This campsite offers a unique heptagonal toilet (no shower yet but its on the way). Please ensure you're fully self sufficient with all other supplies (including water).
From here you can explore the amazing Blue Mountain views, marvel at a magical glow worm dell, check out the 2 apple cider breweries or gin distillery and taste some of the region's delicious produce.
Colo River is 30 mins away, a clear waterhole is 10 min drive (4wd only- hosts can transport if available), the mouth of a hiking trail to the National Park is on the property, the main township of Bilpin is close by with the baker, fruit and veggie picking, Mountain Bells Cafe (host recommendation), apple pies galore and Melange restaurant , the markets are on Saturday morning 10-12 noon at the local hall and there is a free meditation group 9am Sunday at the monastery.
With so much to do you will need more than one night or plan a return visit to the amazing Mountain Lagoon Hideaway at Bilpin!
We can also offer massage and reiki treatments on site as a 'nature immersion' experience or if you prefer it can be in the privacy of a massage studio (10 mins away), guided nature and wildlife walks/sunset walks or longer hikes, professional ecology tours, fire twirling lessons or performance and African drumming lessons, games for the kids, local produce hampers, eggs and BBQS (with notice and if hosts are available). Camp Medlow is located in Medlow Bath in the upper Blue Mountains, and is just 800m from Medlow Bath railway station, and only 8 minutes drive to Katoomba or 5 minutes drive to Blackheath - so is conveniently located close to all key attractions, like Scenic World, the Grand Canyon, Three Sisters, plus all the amazing bushwalks and abseiling and climbing locations that the upper Mountains is famous for.
You can pitch up to two tents on the level and very secluded campsite where you'll have complete privacy in a fantastic bushland setting, which backs directly onto Blue Mountains National Park. The campsite is directly in the centre of 3 acres of natural open forest comprising many old tall Blue Mountains Ash eucalyptus trees, Banksias, Waratahs, and Wattle. The site is also home to Gang-gang and black Cockatoos, parrots, owls, magpies, spotted-tailed Quolls, possums, Eastern bent-wing bats, and wallabies.
All cooking must be undertaken at the fire circle. NO COOKING AT THE PARKING AREA AT ALL. Cooking at the fire circle not only maintains basic fire safety, but protects the precious flora and fauna at the site, as well as adds to your own privacy.
There is no water available at the property, so please bring your own.
There are no toilets on the property so you must bring your own camp toilet that you take with you when you leave. Absolutely DO NOT dispose your human waste or toilet paper/wipes on the property. The closest 24x7 public toilets are at Medlow Bath Park on Railway Parade, which is only a short 10 minute walk.

Just over 2 hours drive from Sydney CBD we are in the heart of Darkinjung Country, bordered by the Wollemi and Yengo National Parks. Enjoy the spectacular views as you wind your way along Putty Road passing through farmland, bushland and past rural post boxes.
Our property has a 7km walking track around it with a beautiful valley, interesting rock formations, 1 million trees (or so we have been told!) and creek crossings to navigate. Keep your eyes peeled for kangaroos, wombats, koalas, goannas and all manner of native birds and plants. We also have a shallow creek a stone's throw from the camping site, perfect for paddling or exploring.
If the peace and quiet gets a little too quiet(!) nearby activities include horse-riding, off-road driving, and the Hunter Valley wineries are just over an hour’s drive away.
We (Mark, Sam and Whiskey the labradoodle) can’t wait to welcome you to our little piece of bushland paradise.
Other things to note:
- There are no facilities at the campsite, so self-contained campers only (you need your own toilet).
- The nearest shops are an hour's drive away so make sure you bring all food and drinking water for your stay.
- The property is off-grid with limited phone reception (Telstra only).
- Camp fires are allowed except during fire bans and firewood is available for $20 per stay.
- The maintenance of the track is dependent on when we last worked on it, so you may find yourself creek jumping and making your own path through the vegetation (things grow fast at Putty!).
- Off-leash dogs very welcome though please note the camping area is not fully fenced.

There are numerous secluded sites and ample room for exploring the scrub, rocks and river. We move the campsites around depending on water levels and the size of the group booking.
******Access to all sites is 4WD only (not AWD),including your van and may require a river crossing. **** Access to the sites is at your own risk- Please assess the track prior to heading down if you are at all concerned camp up the top. It can be slippery if wet and it is quite steep.
- This is bush camping and campers need to be fully self-contained (own toilet please)
- NO DOGS or pets please, as this is a working farm and we have fox baits out
- Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place
- Campers may gather their own firewood onsite from fallen timber, It is sometimes handy to carry your own to get a fire going quickly when you arrive.
- Please bring all your own drinking water (the river is available for back-up)
- No Mobile phone service at the sites. Please consider alternatives for communication. (phone service is availible 2km east of the Gate (towards tarana)

A great private spot to camp. Unlike many other Hipcamps it has a huge undercover area with a very large indoor fireplace and outdoor firepit. Wombats were there as well as platypus. It has a long winding driveway to the campsite but no worries if you have a 4WD. The hosts were great and met us on arrival and communicated with us during our stay. Truly a magical spot. Would love to come back when we are in the area again.

Great base camp to explore area. Fantastic views and sunsets. Michelle is very helpful and accommodating. The two dogs Daisy and Stephen are beautiful and great entertainment as was their little helper Oscar who was very informative and great to have a chat to.

It was a great location full of wildlife! I probably wouldn't go again unless I knew the river was high. It was too low to canoe/kayak and even swimming was a challenge to find a good spot because a lot of the water was stagnant. Otherwise, facilities and staff were amazing.

Sharon’s place is a little slice of peaceful paradise. My family and I stayed over the weekend and were blown away by how beautiful and quiet it was. A gorgeous stream flows through the place, and the covered area with a kitchen had everything we needed. A true gem! We 100% recommend it and would absolutely love to come back 😊

Drive down is no joke, properly offgrid no reception or facilities. If that’s how like it it’s the best within 3hrs of Sydney.

We definitely will be back to Kellie’s land. The atmosphere and scenic views made our trip very enjoyable. On the property there was enough space where we were spaced out, and not near any other campers. The swim was enjoyable and refreshing, especially on a very hot summers day.

When to go
The best times to visit the Glow Worm Tunnel are during the week or in the quieter seasons of spring and autumn. Summer, weekends, and holiday periods can get busy, with limited parking available. The cooler months also offer a unique spectacle, with banksias in bloom, adding a touch of magic to your walk.
Know before you go
- Take care inside the tunnel as the ground is rocky, uneven, and can be slippery.
- It's pitch dark inside, so don't forget to bring a torch.
- Minimize noise to avoid disturbing the sensitive glow worms.
- Stay on the walking track to protect the fragile ecosystem of this World Heritage-listed national park.
- Remember, there's no wheelchair access and no drinking water available, so come prepared.
