Located at Bilpin, this beautiful campsite is nestled at the foot of the majestic Blue Mountains and backs onto Wollemi National Park. This magical 16 acres is abundant with wildlife & where you camp is the mouth to the beginning of some great hiking tracks in the National Park! :) There are a few great campsites to choose from- all 2WD accessible. 1 at the top of the property (good for families/large groups up to approx 20) with good flat ground and surrounded by a lush forest. It's close to the quiet country road so it is easy access in and out, another 2 at the back with water views and 1 in the forest (Only if you have 4wd and portable loo we can give you an exclusive spot in the bottom of the golden gorge). Sit back and relax around the campfire whilst toasting a marshmallow or some damper. This campsite offers a unique heptagonal toilet (no shower yet but its on the way). Please ensure you're fully self sufficient with all other supplies (including water). From here you can explore the amazing Blue Mountain views, marvel at a magical glow worm dell, check out the 2 apple cider breweries or gin distillery and taste some of the region's delicious produce. Colo River is 30 mins away, a clear waterhole is 10 min drive (4wd only- hosts can transport if available), the mouth of a hiking trail to the National Park is on the property, the main township of Bilpin is close by with the baker, fruit and veggie picking, Mountain Bells Cafe (host recommendation), apple pies galore and Melange restaurant , the markets are on Saturday morning 10-12 noon at the local hall and there is a free meditation group 9am Sunday at the monastery. The bell tent is large and roomy, consisting of a queen bed with fresh linen waiting for you, outdoor setting with cushions, beanbags, fire pit and other furnishings🍀 The washroom has a river stone sink, eco toilet with wooden seat, mirror, camping shower and some pampering products. Here you will find 16 magical acres abundant with wildlife, dams, a waterfall at the back and walking tracks 🌲 🐨 🐦 We have a two night minimum on summer weekends but please message the host if you would only like to stay for 1 night as we may be able to fit you in! 😄 Enjoy the sounds of the forest and see the sunset at the waterhole. Fire must be put out if you 1) Leave the site each day 2) Each night before bed and 3) When you leave completely. This is a strict policy due to being in a National Park and to protect the precious nature and wildlife. Two buckets of water are supplied for this purpose. Sticks in the buckets for animals to safely exit if they fall in. If it is hot weather or windy there may be a TOTAL FIRE ban. We will keep you posted & be proactive and check online.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at this property. Such a calm vibe to the place. Cleanest composting toilet we've ever seen, loads of space between us and the neighbours so we barely saw them. We took advantage of the onsite massage and it was amazing to relax at our camp-site. We also took a walk down into the gully on the property, special and magical, definitely ask about it when you're there.

Absolutely loved it. This was our first time glamping, the private spot in the forest was the perfect get away for us. Everything looked clean and organised. There were two chairs and table to sit outside and we used it for having a BBQ using a portable stove while enjoying a cold drink for dinner. Inside the glamping tent the bed was so comfortable, perfect temperature inside, there were two bean bags to lay on, cabinets and books to read with three light lamps. The host prepared us with two chocolate cookies sooo good. We stayed for 1 night and we had a great sleep, so quiet, nice and cool inside, not hot at night. Toilet is very close to walk to, water to wash hands provided, there is also portable water bag to take cold shower if needed. Camping for other people are not too far away, which is on the way to the walking track for a little nice hike. The only thing I would recommend for the host to have an outdoor table umbrella or a cover in case it rains, but we brought our own beach umbrella to use it as table cover as it was drizzling a little bit of rain, I would recommend to bring a gazebo, apart from that It was a great experience, could have stayed for two nights, it felt like living hundreds of years ago - nomadic life. Danii and Adam are lovely. They gave us a cute little NYE and xmas gift. They were incredibly gracious hosts. Their property is amazing, and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle. There is so much to explore in the area for those that are a little savvy as well.

What a truly beautiful spot to stay at! Very peaceful, private and spacious. Everything was set up so perfectly and we loved all the little touches. It was a pleasure to wake up to birds signing in the cosy tent. Dannii was an amazing host; very responsive, friendly, helpful with lots of local tips and recommendations. We enjoyed camping at Dannii and Adam's campsite at Mountain Lagoon. It was an easy drive to get there, not too far from metro Sydney. The site we had was spacious. We would love to come back another time in warmer weather.

Our second stay here and loved it just as much as the first. We stayed up the top (orange) site because there had been heavy rains for days previous and was the most dry. The site is large with plenty of level ground along on the top. There was lots of firewood to collect but got a load added on as it was wet. The site was nice in between all the trees and more so with the site further down (green). There was a small amount of cars that went past on the road above but didn’t bother us as it’s just people going to and from their houses so not constant. There’s an easy walk with some up and down that leads off into the national park. We got to a point and turned back but I believe it goes on as far as you want. It’s was nice getting out in to the silence and listening to the birds and breeze through the trees Dannii and Adam were lovely and came over for a quick chat before we left on the Sunday. Lots of plans for the place to upgrade the sites but they have done so much already. On the way home (or there) you go through Bilpin so highly recommend grabbing an apple pie or some local honey. Lots of places to choose from.

Thank you so much Danni & Adam for hosting us in your little slice of paradise! Great facilities like a super clean and not smelly toilet! As a fungi lover I loved coming in Autumn and finding all the little treasures on the property but will have to come back again before the season is up with more time to explore because 2 nights was just enough for this escape. Hosts were warm and welcoming, with amazing communication leading up to our stay, while giving us our little corner to tuck away in away from the main residence, but knowing someone was close in an emergency helped me sleep a little better. We chose the Kangaroo site and it was a perfect nook in nature to set up our tent and enjoy some time away from the buzz and had plenty around to explore around us but far enough away from neighbours and roads it felt national park-esque with the perk of a VERY close toilet! Thank you for our pumpkin I can't wait to make some soup!

Private, peaceful campsite with a friendly host (Adam) who greeted us on arrival. Eco-friendly toilet was appreciated and cute ducks in the pond. Would recommend for small or large groups keen to have a quiet getaway (no loud parties).

Stunning, tranquil spot close to all the Bilpin attractions. Dannii and Adam have done a great job of creating eco-friendly infrastructure to host hipcampers; the composting toilet is great and dedicated camping spots thoughtfully cleared, while still private and well spaced out.

We had a really great time here! Lovely peaceful place. Sawdust toilet and rainwater sink were awesome, and loved having a fire. Adam was super duper friendly and even gave us bags of freshly grown veggies to take home! Note that mobile reception here is really poor so be prepared for that.

Mountain Lagoon camping was a great experience for us. Since it was not busy Dannii and Adam let us choose the campground we preferred. I agree with everyone from previous reviews, the toilet was super nice. There was also a nice walk near the campground but Dani and Adam also recommended some nice hikes. There was a great bakery (definitely get some bread from there) nearby, nice cafes, and cider cellars(Hillbilly-highly recommend). There was something to do for everyone. We stayed for 2 nights but wished we had more time to explore and relax. There was a cute little bond and nature around us was beautiful. We had the best sleep and a great holiday and hope to visit again soon. The hosts also gave us some spinach and watermelon radishes from their garden which we used for salad and it was so good. Thanks, Dannii and Adam, we had the best time :)

Lovely bush plot with great fire pit. Danii was super helpful and even had a cover for us to sit by the fire in the rain. You can hear the occasional car on the road, but it’s a very quiet and private spot. Even had a dip in the dam.

A really lovely spot with a great relaxed vibe. There were some nice trails from the property to explore and lots of peaceful bird sounds. The bucket of firewood was great! Amenities were in close reach and I have never seen a composting toilet with such great atmos 😃Dannii was a warm and friendly host.
