Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
We looked for alternative ways of living 6 years ago so we purchased 220 acres to build an off grid camping/eco resort. The property consists of a straw bale house, shared facilities (hot showers, flushing toilets - disable toilet coming), outdoor kitchen (with pizza oven coming), solar system and worm farm septic system. The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home. Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.) Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property. They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties. Pets friendly Access all-wheel drive Events possible Please enjoy some of the reviews our previous guests have left for us: "Wanderlust has a beautiful hidden valley and thanks for sharing with us. We bush walked and climbed mountains (it felt like it). Back at our camp; delicious dinner, some nice reds and a beautifully relaxing camp fire. A great little getaway. " - Michelle and Paul. "Great location, quiet and private, basic accommodation, plenty of space! Great for a group getaway!!" "Absolute gen of a property and such humble owners. Thanks for all your time and effort to make our weekend away so accommodating!"

Site 1 - Wanderlust Retreat
A lovely site for longer stays might not be worth an overnight spot. The location was further than expected from a petrol station (oops) and sightseeing. The site, however, was amazing, and we enjoyed the pool on the evening of our arrival. Nothing over the top for views but a lovely quiet area. The facilities were exceptional and, frankly, the best we've seen on our trip so far. Constructive Criticisms: The drive to the site was longer and bumpier than expected, which our city car would have liked a heads up for, continue through the gate and SLOW down for the wallabies, working dogs and cows! Arrival was confusing, and welcome was a little lost on us. Would have liked signs for which water sources were safe to drink.

Amazing hosts, beautiful bush site
The hosts were absolutely amazing, went above and beyond! Such lovely people. Bathrooms and showers provided. WiFi available near the main house and separate kitchen facilities. Gorgeous drive up the blue mountains, wallabies everywhere! They are all around the site too. We are novices when it comes to campervaning, so not sure if it's that but found it difficult with a 7m Apollo campervan navigating the windy and sometimes dirt roads on the roads trail up, I'm not sure we could do in the wet. Would also suggest bringing a radio as very little cell reception.

Site 1 - Wanderlust Retreat
Despite the heavy rain, our stay at Wanderlust Retreat was magical, thanks to the warm and helpful hosts. They seamlessly relocated our campsite to a sheltered area and even assisted with emergency petrol at a reasonable price. The spotless surroundings and top-notch facilities make this retreat a definite 10 out of 10. We'll be back for sure!
