Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property. Just over 2 hours drive from Sydney CBD we are in the heart of Darkinjung Country, bordered by the Wollemi and Yengo National Parks. Enjoy the spectacular views as you wind your way along Putty Road passing through farmland, bushland and past rural post boxes. Our property has a 7km walking track around it with a beautiful valley, interesting rock formations, 1 million trees (or so we have been told!) and creek crossings to navigate. Keep your eyes peeled for kangaroos, wombats, koalas, goannas and all manner of native birds and plants. We also have a shallow creek a stone's throw from the camping site, perfect for paddling or exploring. If the peace and quiet gets a little too quiet(!) nearby activities include horse-riding, off-road driving, and the Hunter Valley wineries are just over an hour’s drive away. We (Mark, Sam and Whiskey the labradoodle) can’t wait to welcome you to our little piece of bushland paradise. Other things to note: - There are no facilities at the campsite, so self-contained campers only (you need your own toilet). - The nearest shops are an hour's drive away so make sure you bring all food and drinking water for your stay. - The property is off-grid with limited phone reception (Telstra only). - Camp fires are allowed except during fire bans and firewood is available for $20 per stay. - The maintenance of the track is dependent on when we last worked on it, so you may find yourself creek jumping and making your own path through the vegetation (things grow fast at Putty!). - Off-leash dogs very welcome though please note the camping area is not fully fenced.

Singleton is about 30mins to the north and has a large shopping centre and many other attractions. Cessnock is about 30 mins to the East, has a population of over 20,000 people and excellent facilities including a private airport. Newcastle is about 1.5 hrs drive away and has a commercial airport and many other facilities of a large sea side city. Wollombi is about 20min drive to the South and is one of the first areas settled in after Sydney. It has many items of historical significance including jail, museum, post office and Wollombi Tavern, the home of Dr Jurds Jungle Juice. Sydney is about 2.5 - 3 hours south. Check in and checkout times are flexible.

Set on 350 acres we offer self-contained campers the opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle and take some time out in this beautiful bushland retreat. Our site is exclusive use so you and your group can chill out with the company of kangaroos by day and firelight and stunning stars by night. Just over 2 hours drive from Sydney CBD we are in the heart of Darkinjung Country, bordered by the Wollemi and Yengo National Parks. Enjoy the spectacular views as you wind your way along Putty Road passing through farmland, bushland and past rural post boxes. Our property has a 7km walking track around it with a beautiful valley, interesting rock formations, 1 million trees (or so we have been told!) and creek crossings to navigate. Keep your eyes peeled for kangaroos, wombats, koalas, goannas and all manner of native birds and plants. We also have a shallow creek a stone's throw from the camping site, perfect for paddling or exploring. If the peace and quiet gets a little too quiet(!) nearby activities include horse-riding, off-road driving, and the Hunter Valley wineries are just over an hour’s drive away. We (Mark, Sam and Whiskey the labradoodle) can’t wait to welcome you to our little piece of bushland paradise. Other things to note: - There are no facilities at the campsite, so self-contained campers only (you need your own toilet). - The nearest shops are an hour's drive away so make sure you bring all food and drinking water for your stay. - The property is off-grid with limited phone reception (Telstra only). - Camp fires are allowed except during fire bans and firewood is available for $20 per stay. - The maintenance of the track is dependent on when we last worked on it, so you may find yourself creek jumping and making your own path through the vegetation (things grow fast at Putty!). - Off-leash dogs very welcome though please note the camping area is not fully fenced.

The 120 acre working beef and horse farm is situated a scenic 2 hour drive North from Sydney or 1 hour East from Newcastle. Welcome to our Cabin, Van and Camping park! Whether you are looking for a quiet getaway or a permanent change of lifestyle, this could be the place for you! Located on a working property in the Hunter Valley, amidst beautiful vineyards and picturesque scenery, 15 minutes from Pokolbin, 30 minutes from Singleton or Cessnock, 20 minutes from historical Wollombi. We have vans and cabins on site for permanent accommodation. All prices include water, Wi-Fi and electricity. We also have powered and non-powered short term sites. Water is not potable. There are numerous cellar doors and restaurants within 1 - 12 kilometers where you can dine and taste the finest food and wine in the district. Pokolbin is 15mins to the east where you can visit Harrigans Irish Pub, numerous cellar doors and restaurants. Singleton is about 30mins to the north and has a large shopping centre and many other attractions. Cessnock is about 30 mins to the East, has a population of over 20,000 people and excellent facilities including a private airport. Newcastle is about 1.5 hrs drive away and has a commercial airport and many other facilities of a large sea side city. Wollombi is about 20min drive to the South and is one of the first areas settled in after Sydney. It has many items of historical significance including jail, museum, post office and Wollombi Tavern, the home of Dr Jurds Jungle Juice. Sydney is about 2.5 - 3 hours south. Check in and checkout times are flexible.

Robert is a friendly and attentive host. Very quiet and basic property which suited our needs. Kids loved it. We have a 4x2 SUV and the only "exciting" part of was negotiating the road up to the site. Very doable but "softer" cars (non-4x4s) need to drive carefully. Otherwise, we'll be back.

This was a great spot, set part way up the valley, the site had a decent view and was surrounded by wildlife. (Horses, Cows, Kangaroos, Owls and Wombats to name a few). The owners were super friendly, helpful with directions and quick to respond. The even took the time to come say hi and show us some options for visiting the surrounding national park. As pictured in the add, the fire and bar setup were a nice touch, and the flushing toilet and generous amount of provided fire wood was amazing! The site is easily accessible by AWD/4WD, and we had no issue getting a small 2WD SUV up to the site. (The most challenging part is only the last 150-200m, so you could definitely park and walk up if needed). Highly recommend this spot for those seeking a peaceful nature retreat!

Cranky Rock was the perfect quick weekend get away. Far enough away from the city but close enough that you can duck back to Cessnock if needed. We snagged the ideal spot in camp with dappled shade throughout the day. Although the toilets are non flushing they are clean and accessible. Pam came to check on us when we arrived and other than that we were left to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Spent and couple of nights here with a friend and enjoyed our stay. Big, open areas to camp with a decent amount of space in between camp sites. The are some sites up from the river and some in the forest so a nice variation. Showers and toilet blocks were nice with hot water and were kept clean. Wood for the fire is available but you can also forage for some dead branches. Flies were annoying but that’s Spring / Summer camping wherever you go tbh. Even keeping the site clean doesn’t stop them so just accept that you’re going to get a few if you’re going camping in these months. The noise levels from the wedding venue are quite loud so not the most peaceful place to camp but it didn’t really bother us as we had music on too or just listened to theirs tbh. Depends what you want. During the day though it’s quiet with plenty of song bird to listen to. Lots of different fishing spots to explore also. Caught one bass and saw a few carp. There’s an hour hike you can do and also some smaller walks. Definitely go down to the river as it’s peaceful and has some nice sandy areas to chill in. Phone signal is non existent here, not even a satellite went over to get a message through the whole weekend. Hosts were lovely and welcoming and explained everything in detail. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Depends what you want from your trip but if you’re ok with the above, it’s a nice clean spot to enjoy some outdoors.

We visited the Mogo Campground which is an amazing setup with great facilities. The dedicated sites with fire pits are clean and neat thanks to the rangers maintaining them.
