Our off-grid camping experience blends rustic simplicity with thoughtful touches for a comfortable, nature-led escape. What's here for you: - Animal feeding experiences (Chickens, goats and horses) - Creek swimming & bush walks - Optional 4WD track to Sunset Ridge with dam views Camp Options: - Front Paddock: 2WD friendly, open views - Garden Area: Close to amenities, serene views, 2WD friendly - Ridge- top bush sites: 4WD access only, epic sunsets and the true off-grid experience Limited sites available to preserve privacy. Creekside Gem, separate enough from other campers in the main area, however, close enough to amenities if required in your set up. Only one booking allowed in this area at a time. Please note: other campers may use the creek for swimming and exploring during the day. Awaken to the natural bush sounds of lyrebirds. There's a creek to cool your heels and walking tracks around our 120 acres of natural bushland. We are a working farm, with neighbouring farms with livestock, so whilst dogs are welcome they must be kept under control at all times. KIDS UNDER 5 YEARS OLD CAMP FREE Note: There are some steep drops to be aware of children must be supervised at all times.

There are no set sites, but several areas within the Garden level we can recommend for setting up, based on your setup, vehicle, and personal preferences. This is a lovely garden paddock ideal for self-contained campers and those in 2WD. There is a pretty garden area with great views and closer access to the toilet, again, 2WD accessible. This spot will provide a serene base camp from which to explore the beautiful wine country in the lower Hunter Valley. Awaken to the natural bush sounds of lyrebirds. There's a creek to cool your heels and walking tracks around our 120 acres of natural bushland. Secluded Paradise. The real off grid experience. No more than one group allowed at a time so you're guaranteed a peaceful experience. Please note: No Children under 13 years allowed due to unfenced large drop off 4WD access only All rubbish is to be taken after departure and no bins supplied. Campers must bring their own toilet so we dont end up with TP littering the ridge.

We loved our stay up on the ridge at Ron & Robyn’s place. Ron was very welcoming on arrival and then let us to it. Lovely little 4x4 adventure up to the ridge and then it was like we was a million miles away from civilisation. We will return.

Love staying at Hugo’s. Ron and Robyn were great hosts ensuring we got to our camp easily with clear and detailed directions. The site was beautiful - tucked away just over the causeway. There were wombats and a platypus (but we didn’t see them this time). Firewood was left by the fire pit for us making it super easy to start a fire - it was -3 one of the nights we stayed. Would def recommend for a quiet getaway.

Lovely spot even in winter ♥️ plus we met Ron and really bonded . We got to hike through the forest on his trail leading to a ridge . It was a gray 8k hike and got lucky with the sun piercing through to let us enjoy the scenery . Great experience! Thank you Ron & Robyn 🙏🏼

We loved our stay at Hugo’s. We had a spot by the creek - very peaceful surrounded by the sound of bellbirds. Lovely walks around the property and there is a great lookout if you have a 4WD. The hosts met us at the gate and showed us the way to the site. Lots of wildlife about - we saw wallabies, kangaroos, lyrebirds and a kingfisher. We’d love to return one day.

We had a great weekend camping at Ron & Robyn's. We had a great spot above the river, under the trees and enjoyed the birdlife. The property also backs onto the bush which is so nice. Ron was an amazing host, very welcoming and let the kids feed the goats, chickens and horse which was a huge hit. The kids also loved the trampoline. Great space the families! Thanks Ron and Robyn for a wonderful weekend, we will be back.

We absolutely loved this campsite. We stayed up on the hill (4WD access only) and it was unreal — peaceful and relaxing , just surrounded by nature. The view from up there is amazing, and the sunset was next level. Ron, the host, is a legend. He was waiting for us when we arrived and guided us up the 4WD track to the campsite, which we really appreciated. Highly recommend it.

We loved camping at Ron’s farm. He and his family were very friendly and helpful. Campsites are well maintained. Would come back for sure. Wollombi is a beautiful village and this is just the right campsite to explore the beautiful valley and also get the feeling of secluded camping.

This was our first ever Hipcamp and we loved staying at Hugo's. Ron is a wonderful, warm host and the location is very beautiful. Open fire, creek, gurgling close by and only an hour away from Newcastle. Highly recommend.

Hugo is very helpful. He helped us start our car which was stuck after battery drained out.he allowed the kids to play on trampoline. Kids loved the swing as well. We played a bit of cricket as well. Highly recommended!!

Privacy on the campground was amazing.So peaceful. Ron was so accommodating.Met us at the gates and escorted us to the campgrounds.Very knowledgeable with surroundings places to see and the workings of the campground.Lovely people.

Ron and his family where great hosts very welcoming ,friendly and helpful! Beautiful property it has a flushing toilet and town water. We went for a drive with my 4x4 on his property where Ron directed us through beautiful bushland to an amazing lookout. Thank you Ron will be back again!
