Camp sites were a good size & well marked with good signage & directions to find the camping area & Charly checked in on arrival to make sure everything was ok. Loved the private canyon view campsite. Very dog friendly my golden retriever loved being able to stretch his legs and because it was hot he trotted up the hill to the dam a few times before I put water in the pool and let him use that as a paddle pool instead. The toilet and shower block is glamping magic. We didn't do the canyon walk as not suitable for dogs but we went for a walk along edge which was scenic. The main reason you book is the wood fire hot tub which I spent hours in on Saturday night. It takes about 2-2.5hrs to fill and heat so plan ahead early and enjoy the stars! Phone reception was good for the stay and when my partner absolutely had to watch the cricket it was only 20 mins drive to a pub so not a bad backup if the rain was too heavy to cook. I will add though that the toilet shower block has a covered deck so if you needed to cook in the rain that should work.

Beautiful campsite with plenty of shaded areas. A lovely forest at the back of the property to wander around in. Also the location of the Bunyip gives easy access to the national parks in the area. Lisa is easy going and very helpful. The amenities are in my view to rustic. Definitely worth staying a few nights.

What an absolutely fantastic location! The view is amazing! The amenities are simple yet clean and functional. Will definitely return, although will do it in cooler months as if there’s a fireban the hot tub can’t be heated. The one full day we had available we were unlucky in that there was a fireban! So peaceful. Felt like we had the place to ourselves!

Plenty of land to set up and backs onto the Onley State Forest. We went for a bush walk in the morning. Bella our dog had fun playing with Wes the dog on site. Facilities were clean, there are tables and fire buckets on site. Fire wood was delivered to us on site. Nigel and Louise were fantastic hosts.

Just 2 hours from Sydney is this wonderful private property that Damien and Charly have poured a lot of love into. The private facilities, loo and shower with views are fantastic and really add a touch of luxury to your trip. Then there's the private heated pool! Perched on the side of a cliff, with stunning views out over the valley below is a small concrete pool heated by a stainless steel coil in a woodfire. It's a first class Hipcamp and I highly recommend it. Don't forget the Hunter Valley wineries sre just around the corner too.

A beautiful camping area. Plenty of shade and a lovely forest to wonder through. Camp fires are permitted which makes the camping at Bunyip even more authentic. Lisa is great to get along with and very helpful. The only constructive criticism I can give is that the amenities are a little to rustic. But if you are self contained in this regard, it's the perfect camp to chill for a while.

Wombat's Forrest is a 30 acre off grid property of bluegum forest and rainforest running either side of Brunkerville creek. Booking includes 2 cabins and an equipped campsite. You will have access to the entire property during your stay, complete privacy. Staying here, you are completely hidden from any other man made structure, immersed in nature. The property is located less than 2 hours from Sydney, 20 mins from Cessnock and the Hunter wineries, adjacent to Sugarloaf Conservation area. You'll love the morning and evening birdsong and be surrounded by the colour green by day. At night, be lulled by the music of the froggy symphonies, watch the moon rise over the forrest, and being mesmerised by the warmth and dancing light of a fire. Wallabies visit at dusk and dawn and a Koala has been heard calling at night. A 1km drive from the main road leads to the open living space. There are two cabins, just within sight of each other, a campsite with an outdoor kitchen shed and a large oval lawn. The Sky Cabin (blue) has a very comfortable queen size bed, a large deck, bbq, composting toilet, small equipped kitchen, solar lighting, hot and cold running water, an outdoor hot shower, and slow combustion fireplace inside. The Earth Cabin has an exceptionally comfortable queen size bed, deck, composting toilet, solar lighting, a slow combustion fireplace inside and running water outside a short distance away. If you want to include Belle tents in your booking rather than bring your own you have the option to add those to your booking and we will set them up for you with lighting included, though you will need to BYO beds and bedding. The campsite adjacent to the shed has running water, an outdoor shower and outdoor toilet. The property has short (circular) walks through the bush, and access to Sugarloaf Conservation area (with further walks and access to the Great North Walk). But its the ideal place to just chill. We offer camping and indoor accommodation. Our property is located on a relaxed 5 acres at the gateway to the Hunter Valley. Enjoy the lush forests and views of the mountain nearby. There's a number of great lookouts nearby if you're up for a walk. The Barn accommodation is great for groups who enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy your outdoor adventure with open living and eco tourism at the foot of the Watagan Mountains. Wildlife and bush tucker walks available. Firewood provided for your indoor fireplace. You will have access to a camp oven and rotating grill, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. There are toilet and shower amenities, and access to drinking water. There is phone reception in certain spots and limited wifi. There is no TV. The barn can accommodate sleeping for 10+ and features two double beds, two single beds, one couch, two air mattresses and five floor mattresses. There is also a fully equipped gym. You will need to bring your own sheets, pillows, sleeping bag etc for added comfort. Sleeping close to the fire upstairs is recommended in the cooler months. Camping is optional with nice flat spots near the dam under sheoaks. Our campsites are equally as beautiful. Chill out in the shade by the dam during the day. Firewood is provided and you're welcome to use the camp ovens and the rotating grill, but if you get stuck cooking on the open fire there is a microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. These are situated downstairs in the barn a short walk from site. A great swim in the 50m dam. There is access to toilets, showers, drinking water and rubbish facilities. An easy 20 minute drive from the M1 (Pacific Motorway) Morisset exit, Wombat Flats Campsite is an exclusive, quiet and private camping area at the back of our 100 acres. We only book one group at a time so you will have the entire site and facilities all to yourselves! There is no traffic noise: all you will hear is the sound of the bush! The campsite borders Watagan National Park and guests can access the park directly through our back gate for bushwalking activities. Our farm itself includes walking trails, a dam and plenty of native wildlife, including birds, wombats, wallabies, echidnas and reptiles. We are devoted to horses and care for a diverse herd that includes some rescue brumbies and other beautiful equines you may meet on your walks. The closest cafe (Bistro Eden, a popular spot for coffee and food) is 15 minutes drive, and the closest Coles/Woolworths is 20 minutes drive away at Morisset. The Hunter Valley is an easy 1 hour drive away, with many wineries and restaurants to choose from. Fishing activities in Dora Creek or Lake Macquarie (15 - 20 minutes drive) are a popular pastime, as are beaches activities (45 minutes drive away).

The location is perfect for those wanting to explore the Watagans on two or four wheels. We’re also just down the road from the Great North Walk. The camping area is surrounded by untouched rainforest, perfect for wandering and exploring the rock pools. Whether you’re into the excitement of off-roading or just want a place to escape, this little slice of paradise has something for everyone. All campers need to be self-contained, so please ensure you bring along your camp toilet, and take all waste when you go. Well-behaved four-legged friends welcome also! With the nearest country villages of Paxton and Ellalong just 15 minutes up the road, with their cafes, local pub and general store, you can grab supplies nearby. Or, head into Cessnock, 20km up the dirt road for more essential services. **Please note that the creek and waterhole pictured are reliant on the weather. Nestled under the Watagan mountains escarpment in the Hunter valley, the property has some amazing views in all directions, but still remains secluded and hidden from view. The property has been selectively cleared to maintain a balance of open land and untouched bushland which has a boundary to the Watagans National Park. The animal life is very diverse as many species transition from the Watagans into the property and many live on site full time. These include flocks of amazing bird species such as Gang gang and Black Cockatoos, resident Wedge tailed eagles, Kookaburras, finches, honey eaters, Coucals, Lyrebirds and more. Wallabies of various types are common, and Sugar gliders can be seen on the flowering Eucalypts. The camping areas for RV's sit on a large elevated flat area that border a large gorge with broken views towards the Hunter Valley vineyards. The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit! The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit. We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter. This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site. 16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin. The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife. There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase.

We purchased the property in mid 2021 to have an escape from city life. We have two active young children and I like to build and tinker. We now want to allow others to also have an escape into the tranquillity. The farm is not a productive farm as such, its a hobby farm, but that is what we call it. Tranquillity in a rural setting. Camp in our field and unwind. Only 8 min from the Pacific Mwy and 10 min from Morisset shops, is this beautiful parcel of land. Just 1hr drive from Sydney, 1.5hr from the CBD. The property backs onto Olney State Forest and has abundant wildlife. Several groups of wallabies are regulars, kookaburras have their nest in the trees, a few wombat holes are scattered around and deer have been seen on the property. There is only about 6 acres of cleared land and the remainder is untouched bush. Sawpit Creek is a seasonal creek which supports an abundant ecosystem. The area benefits from short commutes to local beaches, the lake and rural countryside. There are plenty of attractions and tourist destinations. We are currently only setup to cater for self-contained campers so you need to bring your own camping toilet/shower and drinking water. We do not have any facilities to offer. Please bring what you need and take with you what you bring. The paddock is level land. 4WDs are recommended to access the field, it gets a bit muddy after rain. Although there is one high spot near the bush driveway that seems to stay firm. Your furry family members are welcome to join you.
