Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Located at Mandalong, a small rural community near the town of Morisset and west of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales. The established green 112 acre equine property has the Watagan Mountains as the backdrop. We are approximately 5 minutes off the M1 Motorway and 1 hour drive north of Sydney. Whilst on property it’s a buzz of horse life and there are many horses in the paddocks that will be curious to see you and hang over the fence for a nice little scratch. You will notice an abundance of wildlife that will be around; lovely birds, kangaroos and wallabies and if you are lucky the local deer might call in either early mornings or on dusk. Plus of a night time stop and look up into the lovely night sky while listening to the abundance of frogs, crickets and other noises that come alive. If you are wanting to have a fire you are more then welcome and you can go for a walk about to collect as many pieces of wood on the ground. Don’t forget to collect a good marshmallow stick! While you are on the property and if you want to be apart of any extra activities you see please don’t hesitate to ask. If you are wanting to explore and head off property and explore the local area there is an array of things to do some close and some further away. We are 40 minutes out from the heart of Hunter Valley wine country, minutes away from a few local beaches; Norah Head, Catherine Hill Bay, Soldiers Beach or Caves Beach. All have cafes or pubs close. If you are wanting to head to the bush the Watagan Mountains which are our backdrop has endless picnic spots/look outs etc where you can enjoy driving, walking, dirt/push bike tracks or if you have a specific mountain bike buzz you can head to Awaba Mountain Bike trail. This option is for people who don't need anything from us, just a peaceful place to park and enjoy the views. You'll need to have everything you need and leave no trace. NO amenities such as shower, toilets or access to water/power. Easy access, flat grass sites for vehicles of all sizes offer privacy while still having conveniences such as mobile phone reception and a short 5 minute drive to town. The horses and wildlife are right on your doorstep with sites scattered around the trees and dams. Some sites are 4WD only or unable to be accessed in particularly inclement weather. I had a wonderful stay at Emerald Park Equine. I was kindly shown to my spot by Keelee who was happy to give me a bit of a background on the place and later in the evening I watched some of the horses being fed. The spot in the back paddock was divine. Peaceful and private. Horses in the paddock nearby and friendly cows came to visit me at my bus! A joey hopped down to drink at the billabong in the late afternoon as the rest of the mob of roos grazed nearby. The place is a balm to the soul - I slept like a log - and with the bonus of being an easy ten minute drive off the main motorway. You wouldn't believe it though. Felt like it was a million miles from anywhere. A magic property, well worth a stay.

Loved this camping spot. Very well-located for beaches and amenities but feels very secluded and serene. All the resident animals were a great addition. We will definitely be returning!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We absolutely loved our stay here! The campsite was clean, spacious, and perfect for families. The kids had a great time exploring, and the facilities were really well maintained — hot showers, tidy amenities, and plenty of space to relax. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was peaceful but still social. We’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re camping in the area!

Absolutely loved this place! So close to the beach and shops yet you’re in the middle of a paddock surrounded by beautiful cows, horses, kangaroos and ducks everyday. The staff are more than happy to have a chat and you’re encouraged to go get close to the animals and give them a pat. We will definitely be back soon.

Last minute booking for the long weekend. We loved every minute of it. There were other campers there but so far away from each other there was complete privacy. They were great in accommodating us for a trail ride on the horses at equestrian centre. As stated in description, you do need to be self sufficient especially with camp toilet. There are dumping facilities at showground less than 10 mins away which made it easy. Highly recommend for the stunning sunsets!

Great spot not far off the motorway, Jade met us at the gate to welcome us in, easy to access, plenty of room to pick your own spot. Set up a fire, watch the horses and wildlife and enjoyed the sunset with a cold drink.

We loved the quiet location, lots of wildlife, we had cows visit us in the morning who enjoyed a pat and the horses also wanted to say hello. Jade was a wonderful host.

Camping at Emerald Equestrian Park was amazing! We loved just chilling out, watching the bird life zip by and the cows and horses just lazily grazing across the paddocks! Truly stunning property and a lovely and very accomodating host and doggie Sully was so much fun! Thank you Jade - we will be back!!

We wanted somewhere close to home where we could test all the “Off Grid” features of our camper. The “Back Paddock” was perfect, we were the only campers there so could test all our features without disturbing anyone. Had a campfire every night, enjoyed seeing Kangaroos, Wallabies, deer and birds as well as the cattle and the horses that are part of the working farm. I’d like to go back again soon! The staff were friendly and helpful.

We recently had a fabulous stay at Emerald Park Equine. We loved the fact it is working horse park with things going on around us. Jade and her team were all lovely and super helpful. My wife had a horse ride with Jade, and she loved it so much she wants to go back again soon! Jade brought a fire pit to our location which was very private and with sunset views. We enjoyed farm grown limes and chilies. We hand-fed some new calves. We relaxed, we walked, we rode, we patted friendly cows and horses. We had a great time at Jade's - thank you and we will def be back!

We absolutely loved our stay, Jade and Ben were wonderful hosts! Such a beautiful property, the kids enjoyed waking to all the animals each morning! It was also handy being a short distance from town. We will definitely be back :)

My kids and I loved this camping site! Jade and Lisa were so kind and helpful, we felt so welcome. The scenery is beautiful too and it was so relaxing to just sit and watch all the animals. We also took part in feeding their pet cow and bottle feeding the calves, which was such a fun experience. The location is great too as although theres no showers, toilets or bins; town is only 10 minutes away so plenty of places to restock supplies and dispose of rubbish if you cant carry everything you need for your whole stay. Unfortunately our trip was cut short due to unforseen weather, but even then Jade and Lisa were so understanding and accomodating. Overall I definitely recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing stay.

Beautiful scenery and so much wildlife. The camp site is flat and easily accessed, surrounded by lush farmland and trees. Whilst there we saw nesting rainbow lorikeets, many water birds, deer and wallabies. Just beautiful and also a handy location. Jade was very helpful. Would stay again.

Absolutely loved our stay! Everyone was so incredibly friendly and welcoming—it felt more like visiting old friends than just camping. The vibe was relaxed, open, and full of good energy. You can really tell the people behind this place care about the experience they’re creating. Can’t wait to come back and see how it evolves. There’s so much potential here, and honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns into something even better than Glenworth Valley. Keep up the amazing work!

What a stunning spot for our recent overnight stay, and yet only 5 minutes from the freeway. We were the only campers there and the views and the tranquility were amazing. After a long drive it was wonderful to wander and explore the property. The animals were all so friendly, especially Sully and Little Moo. We only wish we could have stayed longer, but look forward to visiting again.

We loved our stay at Jade’s property. It was beautiful and private. Our kids loved visiting the horses and playing with the two dogs, Sully & Basil, that live there. We really enjoyed the fresh eggs and herbs and Jade went out of her way to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. Thanks for hosting us!

So near yet so far. Stunning property with acres of space for off grid camping. Jade and Lisa are great hosts and the location is so relaxing I stayed for 4 days to chillax. Only 90 minutes from the Sydney CBD and a few minutes out of Morrissett.
